My personal statement:
"Please?"
Lol
I was almost done with my statement, then came across your channel and honestly don't think it's even worth me applying anymore loooool
I get you, this is too complicated
Yep. Maybe academics isn't for me lul
lolll same 😭 i don’t think i have half the passion or interest he does tbh
@@leaderoftaehyungnation9766 me too! i feel like i don’t have any passion, i’m just applying for the sake of having a career. he seems like he genuinely loves his subject
@@jinan43 same lol, i think we’re in the same position with this subject 😪😪😪
Congrats on getting into Oxford despite the exam mess!
I just finished my first year of eng sci at oxford, and honestly the best advice I can give is to enjoy your first year as much as you can! That being said, engineering is hard, so make sure you do your work too 😂
Actually lemme retract that, my actual best advice would be to not copy the problem sheet solutions that no doubt will be passed around lol, it’s very tempting but really it’s just avoiding learning at the time what you’ll need to know for your exams!
Good luck :)))
I'm about to apply for mechanical engineering or physics and I found this video very intimidating...
I think it gets less intimidating the further into the process you are. I know when I started it seemed the concept of eventually having a finished statement was somewhat scary! Just give it a shot and try to focus on making your application the best it can be :) Best of luck!
I’m almost inspired to just take a gap year this guy has so much more stuff done than I have.
Edit: got an interview in the end so my limited experience must have been good enough. Tip for anyone else reading this: there’s a lot of time between sending your application and the interview. If you really have to, you can write about stuff you’ll do in that time as if you’ve done it.
Such an informative vid, thanks!
Dammnnn ! It is breathtakingly awesome.
As someone who's applying for engineering at Cambridge, this video was really helpful. I also have a great interest in roller coaster design which was mentioned a lot on my personal statement, I really didn't expect to see it on yours too.
Ah, yes, another fellow NL2 user! I don't have so much time for it nowadays but I have a lot of fond memories of my projects on there. It's rather a shame that it's popularity generally seems to be on the decline these days, in part due to the lack of major updates. Best of luck in your application!

"Diverse facets of the subject" with subject are you referring to engineering or the roller coaster. Such an insightful video👏👏
Wow, such a good stament brother
Thank you so much ~~though this video does seem intimidating, it helps a lot lol.
Hey my name i manav and I am applying to oxford to study physics, therefore will be doing the PAT test. I would absolutely love it if you went through more past papers. I saw your part 2 video of going through some questions in the 2019 paper I think and the way you explain it is superb. I found the hard questions much easier to understand and I think you can help me succeed if you do more past papers. Please may you do some more papers, I would be very very very grateful
Kind regards, Manav
Now I feel so dumb lol
My personal statement is far from yours literally.
I guess it's good that I missed this year's application lol.
Thanks for the advice ❤✌
Thanks for this! What percentage scholarship did you get in that essay competition?
to be honest, your video is life-saving. Now, I have some hopes in competing with other applicants as an international student.
did u get accepted
probs @@DaniFadli
👏👏👌
omg-i entered the immerse competition
Hi, I was just wondering- during the Oxford interview did they talk more physics concepts mentioned in your personal statement? E.g. forces and G- loading. Or was it more random physics and standard mathematics?
Now I want to work on anything but my personal statement...
Thank you, this is very useful at the moment.
Do you know if Imperial give you a 3 grade offer if you are doing 4 A levels?
I'm not really sure - looking on their website they do apparently do 4 grades offers, so I assume if you do 4 A-Levels you are likely to get a 4 grade offer? It's a good question and definitely worth emailing someone at Imperial about - they should be able to clarify.
What would u recommend to talk about in an engineering personal statement if I dun have much practical or work experiences
Idk where to ask this so I'm here- do u know the chances of getting an offer from imperial without fm. My school offers it but it's oversubscribed
Hi Peter, if you can put in a strong application without it, lacking fm is not a deal-breaker. It's definitely desirable, just because doing more and more complex maths will improve your fluency, but not an explicit requirement. I'd highly recommend doing some bits of further even if you just end up doing single maths, as it will better your skills.
If you're able to self-teach further maths that would look even better
Wow I am fascinated by you bro I really want to be like mashaallah
Did you do the STEP examination or just do the STEP classes?
I just did the classes. In a normal year I would have been able to sit the exam if I'd wanted, however my school only ran the STEP exam for those who required it for an offer in 2020.
Is this for bachelor's??
I got my deadline this week and my personal statement is not even close to done :(((((
Same lol wat course u looking to do
Is it really worth it to apply if you’ve not done so many of these extra curricula things?
Might as well chuck an application at Oxford even if there’s only a slim chance of getting in
Just try, I know borderline idiots that have gotten in by the grace of god
Are Oxbridge people allowed to write longer Personal Statements?
No, an Oxbridge personal statement is still 4000 characters long. However, Cambridge give you an SAQ form which allows you to write more about why you want to apply to Cambridge specifically which extends on what you wrote in yoru personal statement.
I Don't Have A CS Background In 11 And 12th , Will They Reject Me If I Apply For Bsc In CS
No Universities typically look for Maths and a science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)
Please help me with my personal statement
bro are your hands invisible
You’re just a glorified Geographer.
If anything, I'm personally more of a glorified mathematician who rounds to 3SF...
That's a lot of work ngl haha
