I love the idea of ‘finding color’. It makes floral painting so much easier to approach. And the ‘vegetable soup’ greens are so much more natural, more like real leaves. Thank you! Also, imagining the paintbrush moving over the flower makes it more intuitive. I love your lessons.
I have watched this over a few times for reference. I really love her style and use of colors. I especially loved her leaf examples at the end. So far she's my favorite instructor on this page :)
I love your style so much! I could watch you all day and never be tired! Every time I watch I see something else..SO lovely! Thank you for making this video!
Fantastic lesson. Thank you so much. I like how you started with the straight paint in the center. That’s where a rose is usually darker anyway. Great tip.
Late to the party, I know, but just found you now! Wonderful rose, best I have seen and the video was great to watch and helpful. Thank you very much Janet Rogers!
Janet,,,I love your style of painting so much and the way you prepare and blend your colors. I was especially impressed with the one you did of your granddaughter's face. You have great instincts on what paint to add and when.....something that had to be developed. Thank you!!!!!!!
Hi Janet...you may remember me ,Martin and Carol Rodgers from our trip with you to Cortona a few years back. We often talk of our trip with you both. Still paint, but not as often as I would like. These videos do inspire me to get back at it more frequently. Lovely to see you again, if only on a video. Lovely work!
It looks like you haphazardly blot on the paint yet I can see you predict what the water and paint will do. And if they even start to look wrong you're able to change it as if nothing was ever wrong. This is AMAZING to watch! I appreciate your tutorial but I sincerely believe you have a born gift!
What type of paper are you using? The green paints came off so easily while adjusting for a better composition/design. Thanks, Janet. I am new in FL and FWS. I enjoy learning about your art style. Looking forward to your workshops in the future.
The demos are helpful for technique, but what is not told by the person doing the demo, is what paper he/she use. Is the paper hot press or cold and what weights.
This is the best and the most painterly loose style rose ive ever seen......your brush strokes are so much advanced....thank you master
How I agree!!
Wow. I am so glad to have found Janet Rogers painting so beautiful rose and leaves. Thank you so much for your video.

Lovely - so calligraphic. Seeing your “corrections” is helpful in establishing confidence. I’m sending the link to my students.

You left out the watercolor paper she used. Do you know. It looks whiter than Arches.
