I believe you're quoting a line spoken by the character Will McAvoy from "The Newsroom", a terrific HBO show done by Aaron Sorkin. The pilot episode's opening scene was fantastic with Will's rant at Northwestern on the state of America. It's no less applicable today. Sorkin clearly has a lot of respect for what the journalists of yesteryear brought to us that is now sadly lacking- truth spoken directly to those in power.
