- Today I visited the world headquarters of Judo - the famous Kodokan dojo. It's an impressive 8 story building filled with training areas, a library and a museum.

You need to go back here and make a updated version of this video. Please.
The instructor who was sparring is Nambo sensei. It's a pity there wasn't more footage of him, because he is insanely good. As you can see, he was hardly even trying.
+J. Thx for the info. Yes, his judo is amazing.
I love how much fun they're having!
if there is two arts that should be practice together, judo and brazilian jiu-jitsu. Throws and ground work. Thank you for the videos keep it coming.
Another great vid. #bucketlist. Strap on that gi next time Jake!!! Get zome randori on😆. I know you said your back is injured. Keep em comin. Mahalo
Was it not a sode tsuri komi goshi? Is there such a thing as sode guruma?
There is sode guruma jime, but it's a choke (ezekiel choke in bjj). The throw is a sode tsuri komi goshi indeed.
+Matthew de Groot yes, you're right. That's what I get editing late at night. 😁
Oss!
Sode guruma is a strangling technique. Dolt don't know the difference.
Great Video, thank you for this!
No blue Gi at all? Is that coincidence or a Kodokan thing?
I have been to the Kodokan myself but well before blue Gis were even used in Judo.
Its a kodokan thing, in their website it says that only white judogi are allowed.
good luck trying to footsweep or hip throw that white and red belt lol
More!
awesome
At 5:55 the top guy can get an easy kneebar to counter the hook, a shame they are not allowed in Judo.
Leg locks are allowed in Kodokan's newaza, and it was just instruction, not even a sparring.
I want to train there
You didn't train, Jake ?
+subscriber10304 No, not this time. Just filming for you :)
Thank u Jake ! Does Enson still runs Purebred out there ?
+subscriber10304 yes he does. Budo produced a show called Mat Culture which features a really good interview w him. It's on UA-cam.
BJJ needs a cool down.
