I'm a first member but find the website to be slow and cumbersome. I like how UA-cam keeps track of what I've watched, my place in the video, the playlists, etc... that being said, I'm happy and LOVE to be a first member to support y'all and watch Theater Mode, among many other shows :D
If you use Chrome, I highly recommend trying out the RT Enhancement Suite or BetterRT extensions. I find they make the videos a bit smoother, and they remember video progress amongst other things. I actually watch most of the RT content on the site (Using the Roosterteeth.com/Schedule as a base and tracker).
I'm the same, man. A big factor is how many other content creators I watch: SovietWomble, Yogscast, Kibler, Last Week Tonight, etc. While I love to support RT's personal stuff, UA-cam being an all-in-one package is just too good.
I imagine it would be a lot easier (not to mention more reliable) just to make a reminder for yourself in your phone or calendar. I'll most likely forget it anyway. Also, a bit weird to just ask a stranger like me to remind you of something as if I'm Siri or Google Now or something.
You can see the same thing in their weekly monday-meeting, where they all come together to discuss what they've got planned for the week. They make sure that every structural level of the company is connected like this.
I've been watching Roosterteeth and Achievement Hunter for over six years now and love all the content they make. I just hate that I have to watch it all on UA-cam because I don't have enough money to show my support in the way I want to. keep doing what you're doing as it's amazing!

Im not trying be a sellout or anything, but I highly recommend getting a First Membership for those that truly enjoy Rooster Teeth's content. I bought my membership during first week and it's already made up for the price. The sheer amount of content that they release everyday only on their site is easily worth it on its own.

One thing I can related to, is having more than one stream of income. The reason for that is something craps out, it won't completely destroy you, or force you to find a new job. Being 21 and married is hard but applying this and having a few sources have made me and my wife stable without a worry. If I have to leave a job or my side projects fall through a flow will still come in until I find a replacement. I'm not saying I make a lot, but it is completely doable for anyone willing to put in the extra work and time. My dream is to start a commercial business. I know if I keep it up like this I will be there soon.

Like your content leads to the creation of and advertising of your merch. And people using your merch helps advertise your content and such. Maybe that could be it's own topic in the future? I guess Matt touched on it but it'd good to hear more about it in depth I think because there's not many companies who can replicate this!

Burnie Burns I think something which wasn't mentioned in this time is about Rooster's own advertising of themselves and how each section of the business compliments the other sections. Like your content leads to the creation of and advertising of your merch. And people using your merch helps advertise your content and such. Maybe that could be it's own topic in the future? I guess Matt touched on it but it'd good to hear more about it in depth I think because there's not many companies who can replicate this!
