Manual override of a lippert slide out

- Nothing strikes fear into a camper more than pushing the slide button and nothing happens. Whether its a power failure or a motor failure, I will show you how to manually retract or extend.
I am recently widowed and decided to go camping as part of my therapy. I had one of my slides out to pack. Brought it in to check the air in my tires. When I tried to extend it, it wouldn't do anything but click. When I got to my destination, I followed the directions from your video and fixed it. Thank you so much for the help. I was afraid I was going to have to make a trip to the shop. Saved me!
Sorry to hear about your lose. I'm glad this was able to help you out. Going off yours statement it sounds like you may have a bad or weak battery. The battery had enough power to bring the room in but dropped below the 10volts needed to extend the room out. Any Auto parts store would be able to test your battery. Thanks for watching!
@millersinthemoment5427 when I got under it and used a wrench, it was like it was locked/stuck. I loosened it a couple of turns and then was able to use the switch and extend it.

If it weren’t for people like you, I would fail. My wife asked me what do we do if the slide motors fail. You answered that perfectly. And,,,, I get to buy a new tool that I’ve been wanting 😂.

Great instructions, Sir, and it worked! Grinding motor with no movement caused panic, but it worked like a charm as yiy instructed. We didn't have to use the manual crank for entire slide out, just enough to begin slide-out, pushed on both sides from inside, and then used automatic slide-out button and it worked! Then we lubricated everything and works great. Thanks!
Yes, slide defiantly don't like to be dry, glad its all working good now.
DO NOT USE AN IMPACT….. most of those motor gears sets have a plastic gear in it that will strip from the action of an impact ….. don’t ask me how I know….. you a drill.

Impact driver??? Are you sure a drill wouldn't be more appropriate?
Hi and thanks for the video. I have a 2019 Aspen Trail RV and the slide out isn't working. The motor isn't making any noise. I have to live in it full time and I can't with the slide out closed. I have paperwork on everything but the slide out. I'm running on electricity and have no battery. Do you know if that has anything to do with it? I'm hoping to get someone to get it out manually for me. I Really can't afford to pay a tech and buy a new motor. I've been searching for awhile and I finally found out the info on how to manually get it out. Thank you and have a great day. Shari
Hello Shari, you will need to install a battery to get the slide to work. The power converter will not produce the current needed to run the slide motor.

Use a drill not an impact. The hammering will bust any gears and threads that are in there
Should be an access hole in the frame on opposite (passenger) side to attach a tool that came with the camper or a drill .
So brands do and some dont. Our 2015 springdale doesn't have the access hole.
Is the location of the motor and manual overdrive located on the opposite side of the slide you want to retract? Thank you.
I believe all rack and pinon slides are located on the opposite side.

What way do you turn it to extract it in? Will I be backing the price in or out?
I think its clockwise, but you can watch the teeth on the track to see which way the slide is traveling.
How does that work once the slide moves in?
I have a alpha a class same problem but when I drive it the slide comes out a lil bit how do I lock it?
