    Great video and great job on video. I used to play lots of foosball back like 30 years ago. I'm 60 now. Just recently started getting my kids (14,14 and 17 yrs. old) involved in foosball and billiards. So excited to see this video and this technique. Don't ever remember seeing this technique back years ago when I played. Can't wait to get home and practice. Exciting stuff!!

    Hey Chase, great vid. I really liked the two balls exercise. I'll be using that example to train a couple of beginners playing with us now. Probably try it myself too, but like you the snake shot isn't my go-to shot either, I like the euro-pin for front toe and rear toe shots.
    But thanks for the tip series Bro.

    Chase, When you want to do a cutback snake should you get the "cutback" from hitting 1/2 the ball causing the ball to angle in? Or do you get the "cutback" from the actual recoil motion? Do some players do it one way and others do it differently? Both seen like they might be effective. Pro's cons? Love your tutorials! I'm grinding on my game.

      Over the past month I have been practicing basic drills, the 5 man wall pass series, the snake shot, and the pull shot from goal for about 10 ish minutes during my break. 3 days ago I started challenging the best foosball player at my work. He beat me 2/0. The next day he won 2/1. Today I won 2/1! I scored the most from the pull shot from goal probably because I was rarely successful with my wall pass series and wasn't able to take a ton of offensive shots. I am having a really hard time speeding up my wall pass series.

    Great post up ! Never cared to learn that roll over shot . Being a 70's player when I got back into it in 2000 I tripped when I saw it done at a tourney and thought not legal but its within the rules after a closer look .. Took me a bit to adjust to stop the shot for sure . Especially since I don't hardly move when playing goalie for physical reasons . lol .

    do you put any substance on the rods to make them slide easier? I was experimenting with different types of greasy substances, but most of them become adherent after a few matches and it ruins the experience. also, what you do in the case the rods become bent due to putting force onto them?

    In Italy the rules are different, but as far as I know they should be the official European rules: it is not possible to shoot with the same player with whom the ball stopped, if the ball has been stopped you have to pass it or let it bounce, don't make a direct shot on goal.
    And you cannot pass to another player on the same line and shoot directly, if you stop the ball you must first bounce it laterally against a bank.

  • @ventin75

    1. how much pressure do you put on the ball?
    2. What adjustments do you make when playing on the fireball table?

    • @ChasePennell
      @ChasePennell  7 років тому

      fooser the pressure on the ball is pretty light but enough to rock the ball, for fireball I didn't make any adjustment really for a snake. The adjustments were mostly for anything in a back pin.

    What about rolling your wrist down less than 360 degrees, as if you are winding up and then roll back up real fast less than 360 degrees to strike the ball? Is that legal?

    • @ChasePennell
      @ChasePennell  4 роки тому

      Moving your wrist further down will not change it. The rule is "You cannot rotate the rod 360 degrees before or after striking the ball. So it cannot really happen.

    • @rockheadesq.8720
      @rockheadesq.8720 4 роки тому

      @@ChasePennell I said less than 360. With the man in the standing straight up position, I roll the bar down with my wrist until the man rotates approx 3/4 of a rotation (approx 270 degrees) as if to wind up, then roll the bar back up with my wrist approx 3/4 of a rotation or approx 270 degrees to strike the ball. There is a little bit of a follow thru but well short of 1/4 rotation or approx 90 degrees. So I guess I am doing it legal. I hope this made sense. I have always loved playing foosball but I haven't play in about 10 years.

    • @foosinaround8648
      @foosinaround8648 2 роки тому

      @@rockheadesq.8720 it's impossible to rotate more than 360 because the farthest down you can go into the back of the ball...farthest you can go up is on top...so 360° is not possible due to the size of the ... if you wound up to say the middle of your arm away from the ball slightly before hitting it and go 360° before hitting the ball...yes it's illegal...but while touching the ball...its impossible...since when you strike it at 355° ish maybe...it resets...so you're legal doing it the way you do it...follow thru more than 360 would be tough to catch unless you go up your arm and you'd spin or you'd lose the rod cause you don't have enough length to go farther with follow thru naturally...you'll spin when you can't catch it...hope this is understandable...sorry so long

      @@ChasePennell I started playing Foosball again after almost 30 years in May of 2019. I played on Dynamo's and I am getting used to the Tornado. I have messed around with the snake shot but I am trying to get my old game back and I am getting better but it is hard work. I am trying to overcome fear of injuring my right shoulder which I have had two Rotator Cuff surgeries and I didn't think I could ever play again. I am playing great competition at Mid South Foos. The guys have been very helpful and patient helping me. I have a lot of work ahead to being able to compete seriously with these players that never stopped playing. I am scoring pretty well but my 5 Bar isn't close to these guys. I once had a toe shot that could best pull shot shooters most of the time. I play on the heals and toes and do all kinds of combos off those set ups. No one really has my style and I once was very solid on Dynamo's with that style. The Tornado doesn't have the same action as a Dynamo. Also the table is slightly slicker than a Glass Top Dynamo. I have enjoyed watching you and you have been helpful. In a couple of years I plan on going to the Big Tournaments. Although I have to get better at the 5 bar.

    Missed my calling. I’d smash all you pros. Too bad no tournaments are in my area. Would be fun. Watched some of the pro games and I have to say, I was not impressed. Speed and passing are the only thing I have seen. And speed wins, but not when you have someone against you that has finesse and knows how to play without raw power and speed. And that’s not saying I don’t have those either. I don’t use the power much, tired of replacing men.
    And why do the pro play with the kiddy tables? 3 man goalies??? And no ramps in the back. Lame. Million dollar table, old school. None of this 3 man stuff. Real old school guys know about the million dollar tables

      But can you describe why the new tables are 3 man goalies and have to corner ramps? I think it took more skill to play goalie with the older tables.

    I hate this shot. It slows down the game.. no skill in slow ball

    • @ChasePennell
      @ChasePennell  4 роки тому

      That isn't true. At a tournament this is the number 1 shot people use. Most people hate it because they cannot defend it.

      Clasher, I agree. Stopping the ball and playing hocus pocus is kind of silly. Just shoot the ball on the fly, it's much more fun.

      I don't think I've ever played a tournament where the teams didn't do slow ball. In fact, I don't think we ever played anything but slow ball in the bars and taverns.

      @@Hamchunk1968 IDK i prefer this ua-cam.com/video/u1-QK4VhzzI/v-deo.html . passing and draggin the ball is just too slow and kills the game.
