@@OldBeardedGuyReactsseriously lol I'm not sure I can think of another movie that has me like that the entire time. Like you mentioned early on, I was expecting something every time someone turned around or how they shot it with so much background in shots.
This movie was so much better than I expected. Not full of jump scares, but packed full of tension and creepiness. Not sure if you noticed and just didn't comment about it, but the devil showa up multiple times in the movie as a horned shadow, and each time gets closer to Lee. The director, Oz Perkins, is the son of Anthony Perkins who played Normal Bates in Psycho. Another movie with Nicholas Cage that you might enjoy is Colour Out of Space. It's a Lovecraft story, and he dis a fantastic job portraying the slow decent into madness that Lovecraft's characters suffer.
Ya the jump scares didn't seem cheap like a lot of horror movies tend to. The tense soundtrack made me very on edge the entire time....the entire movie I felt like a jump scare was just seconds away. I saw some of the devil shadows...I've watched a bunch of videos that others have done about this and I definitely missed a decent amount of them. By the time I realized we were seeing the LITERAL devil, it was fairly close to the end. I'll check out that other Cage film.
One of my favorite bits of trivia about a movie is always when there's a "the director didn't tell this person that this thing was going to happen because they wanted the actor's first reaction to be caught on film."
That's a possibility. I think after the interrogation a lot of it is just the frustration of "we had two leads...now both of them are dead...both seemed to imply that you know more than you're letting on but you don't remember anything...so now we're back to having nothing"
Seen a lot of movies recently that came out this year from deadpool and wolverine to venom the last dance and terrifier 3 to heretic and this tops all of them comfortably as its so hard to replicate things like this, the mcu can do it forever and a psychopath clown will always be out there but this is so unique, so we'll written and so we'll acted that it feels refreshing to me
I resisted watching this movie until my youngest teen, who saw it at the cinema with her friends, told me not to worry since my birthday is not on the 14th..😂😂😂 Caught it with her, and she was upset that I was laughing at some bits of the movie. 😅 It's not necessarily scary... More creepy.
One of my favorite horror movies ever. The pure dread and tenseness you feel from the furst scene to the last was incredible.
Same here. After the first jump scare I was on edge the entire movie

This isn't a horror movie, but Sicario had the same effect on me. Just completely stressed and tense the entire movie.
@@OldBeardedGuyReacts yeah that's a great one and definitely the same vibes even if it's a different gerne

The director made it to where she had never seen Cage until the scene of her interrogating him so her reaction was more genuine. 😂

I think Lee's boss" odd behavior before and after the interrogation, was because he was already under the influence of the doll.

Nice Morbid Angel hoodie/shirt!
Haha thanks! Once it gets a little bit chillier I'll be wearing it a little more often.
Ok, I like your sense of humor... so I'm subbing. Also, I love Lost.
Hey!! Thanks for the sub! If you had said "also I love cats" I think we'd have a perfect trifecta for you.
@@OldBeardedGuyReacts I do love cats... BIG cats, and other wild cats. House cats are just cautiously adorable.
Loved it! Great sub
Thanks! I appreciate the sub. This was the best horror movie I've seen in a LONG time
@@OldBeardedGuyReactssame. I’ve been obsessed.
I actually went down a crazy rabbit hole of "all the hidden details of Longlegs"...it was bit depressing to see how much stuff I didn't catch

Definitely creepy. And super tense.
Remember it takes place in 90s ...no Google cell phones
Saw in theatre, so fun! Thx man!!
🌴 ❤ 🌴
I can't even imagine how crazy that first jump scare must have been in a theater audience.
@@OldBeardedGuyReacts we yelped! 😆
When her boss shut the door you could see the devil reflected in the glass panel!
Ya that was one of the devil sightings that I totally missed in my first watch
React Oddity. Its a New irish horror movie. Its so good, creepy and bizarre.
The title sounds familiar. I'll definitely add it to the list.
Movie sucked. Christ is King
