Hey babes!!! Quick warning - there is some flickering in this video. I made this based on my own experiences at the eye doctor (I have astigmatism) and edited it to look like how the lights and things appear. There isn't really any flashing, just some flickering but I wanted to make sure that I was upfront, incase that bothers anyone. Also, please forgive some of the mic bonks in this video lmao. I got new mics and new mic stands and the stands have reflection shields so I can make my audio sound as good as possible. BUT I'm also not used to having big things around my mics so the next few videos will probably have some bonks as I adapt and learn to not whack them. Thank you for being patient with me! 😅

I just had an eye exam a few days ago - I remember going as a child and it was probably my first memory of experiencing ASMR, especially the phoropter. I know they have newer ones now, but I prefer the sounds of the old school ones like yours.
They actually haven’t changed that much! The phoropter the last time I was there, had a few new lenses but it was still mostly exactly how it’s always been. Some of the new things are pretty neat. I had to look through these goggles last time at a car and a balloon and wait for them to focus lol. It was like a video game.
I love the follow-up questions and comments, like "How often" and "That's pretty frequent". It feels more sophisticated than the usual ASMR questionnaire script ❤
Rachel I have glaucoma and I love the test you did. Try using a blue light to check pressure in the eyes or check side vision. I get to have that checked every 6 months. So fun. Lol. Great video honey

You can actually find old/out of use machines like these for quite cheap. My uncle got one of their tables just by asking for one when an office near us was moving locations.
Hahaha so, a few ways. One is that I have some friends still in medical and dental who hook me up with equipment, usually which is broken lol. I also scour Etsy vintage stuff and sometimes I can find used stuff on eBay for a reasonable price.
Oh this looks very nice! I absolutely love eye test roleplays! I like the tests that are usually performed in them! And recently we have seen Dr. Smythe the Ophthalmologist instead of the Optometrist so this will be nice and new! Though I do hope we so the other characters again at some point lol! But Dr. Cozy is the best! They should win doctor of the year again this year if there is one! I hope you are doing well Rach! I haven't been doing much, my classes are going pretty well and I've just been trying to relax and think about positives and have fun. I decided not to do any characters for this one because I am learning how to move around with my new audio set up and thought it was better to keep it more familiar (to me lol). Btw lol.. If you experience any floaters, flashing, shadows, or spidering in your vision you should reach out to an optometrist immediately. Do not do telehealth, and do not put off your eyecare Just because your busy with something that day. You can go blind.
I went to the eye doctor this month instead of May (my usual appointment month in the year) because of a floater in my right eye that won’t go away but is fairly obvious especially looking at a screen. Eyes looked good and they couldn’t see anything even though I also did the Optomap image (they said sometimes they can see the floater) but didn’t see it in mine. Luckily it wasn’t an issue for my vision but on the flip side / nothing can be done about it. I try not to look at it but some days it just wants to be seen 😣
@sheilab_34 If your Dr said things are okay sometimes people will have floaters for years and it's not an issue but I am so glad you got it checked out instead of just letting go like some people will.
I wish my old opticians were as thorough and actually listen as you do? I had lost count on how many times I complained about a pain in my right eye (like someone pushing their thumb from the back of my eye?) . Though thinking about it? I went to a new opticians last January and found myself nodding off listening to someone trying new frames on?
Last week was definitely hard to deal with at times, but my family member with skin cancer is doing well, they got it all iut and is healing well, oh and thanks fir the video Rach

Lmao it’s such an awkward state of being, isn’t it? Last time, I made my phone zoom in so I could try to read my texts and then couldn’t figure out how to shrink it back and made my phone unusable for 4 hours. I couldn’t answer calls because the screen was too zoomed in to slide the bar. 🤦♀️🤣
