    FYI: Once you have run the stitch, you can also snip off the excess fabric and run an overlock stitch to prevent fraying. I have never bothered myself, as the excess fabric is pretty thin and doesn’t interfere with anything, but the option is there if you want to :)

    You could also use a stretch stitch is your machine has it then it will not break threads putting on/off. Alternatively a narrow zig-zag could also provide the seam to stretch if needed.

    GREAT video! I had the exact same problem of the jerseys being too baggy and thought it was just because I'm too skinny compared to most people. Looks like a lot of people will find this useful!

    My first jerseys from Ali, I got my mum to do this, also the jersey was very loose around the arms. But since then I bought the slightly more expensive "aero" jerseys and I bought a size smaller, and then fit perfectly snug everywhere. just as if I bought one for 150 euro from certain snob cycling brands.

    This was a very helpful video sir, good job! I've often found the cheaper Jerseys lack that fitted feel so ill definitely be giving this a go! The good thing about giving it a try is that the Jerseys are so cheap that if you screw it up, you won't cry into oblivion!

    Since I can't use a sewing machine for the life of me I took a different approach to get the jerseys fit me tighter. Let's me explain.
    I stuff my face 3 times a day with 4 bicmacs in only 2-3weeks they will fit you like a second skin.
    Give it a try highly recommend.

    One thing that always worked for me. Got size smaller jersey, washed it, half dried and put it on for some time. It stretched where needed and now its really comfortable and tight

    I never found cheap jersey that have decent sleeve length like the one you wear in this vid. most of them quite short and baggy in the sleeve. recently found racmmer aero fit, much better. will try this method on previous jerseys by hand stiching.

      Sleeves yes! I've seen the opposite as well. Fit well through the body, but need weight lifter arms to fill out the sleeves!

    This is a great idea. Have you looked into changing the zips? That's the main issue I have with these cheap jerseys - the zips are terrible plastic and come apart straight away

      I've got a bunch off AliExpress. The Sktoo ones are quite hard wearing and a range of colours for about £7.

      If you like them just buy multiple pairs. Note their sizes in charts are reasonably accurate but if you have big gnarly hands, don't expect a good fit.

      Yeah, I got myself a "Dornen?" windproof jacket for around £8 and it's brilliant. I tested it by leaving it on a chair during a long rainstorm. No leaks. Obviously, you'll get sweaty if you're on a long ride..

      I've got a couple of Rockbros ultralight wind jackets and really like them. They are not a tapered sport cut but one has Tour de France on it so has to be fast.
      a.aliexpress.com/_dYYC9Fm Not tried any other expensive brand to compare, but they look similar to what is in shops and they are not just Italian sizes. Completely not rainproof! Just tight woven poly cotton type blend.
      Main issue is no rear stretch pockets but they do have a big zipped one that they fold into for storage

      I think he probably switched back to Shimano? Which is a shame, a few weeks after his video about the broken shifter the Manufacturer (Sensah) released a new version where the part that broke is made from aluminium.

    is it only for me to feel as if I was wearing a can when having low end stuff like this on whereas even cheaper rogellis make me whole breathable??? I don't like rogelli sizing and you need to correct their stitching too because they happen to unstitch but comparing to china import the quality of their material makes a world of difference even in the low price range...

    Brill.... You can always backstitch at the beginning and end to 'tie off'. Most machines have a button you press to run the machine backwards for a few stitches.
    That said good video sir.
    Now what about a decent pair of cycling gloves. I've had a few pair now from various local supermarkets and non of them offer much in the way of comfort or longevity.

      I've used the aldi ones for donkeys - tbh i haven't found they fall apart any quicker than more premium ones, although i don't think i've had anything "posher" than a pair of basic bontranger ones to compare. the aldi winter gloves are fantastic - i compute daily throughout the year, so they get heavy use - i rate them higher than any others i've tried, plus given i lose one or both on a regular basis, not as upsetting to have to replace!

    How good are these jerseys in terms of ventilation? I have a few jerseys and I am too hot in some of them, whereas in others (well-known brands, but more expensive) I feel fine. I can't imagine climbing the Greenhow Hill in a jersey that has poor or no ventilation at all.

      If you look at the advertisements they show close ups of the fabric. It is usually highly textured with ventilated 'holes'. Not full holes but as if they have half the threads of the main fabric. The panels under the armpits are also usually more ventilated too. And on a hill I always unzip
