- By subscriber request, here's a video on the Groove Synthesis 3rd Wave that features virtual analog (VA) patch creation using the circuit drift and free running oscillators. All this using the using the newly released 1.5 firmware for the 3rd Wave.
Note, there is no paid promotion in this video.

these sounds are very reminiscent of an ARP Omni both the mk1 and the Omni 2 which are fantastic synthesizers
There's that ring in there yes. Thanks for watching, TJ
Wow!!! This is EXACTLY what I wanted to see/hear. Thank you so much TJ for making this video. I really, REALLY appreciate you taking your precious time out of your busy schedule to do this for me. Based on what I heard here, this 3rd Wave is totally capable of sounding analog without a doubt. This is the best-sounding VA engine I've ever heard, and I haven't even played it yet!!! Truth is, I'm pretty convinced at this point, especially with these new additions to the firmware. I can definitely hear a difference with the free-running oscillators and the circuit-drift engaged now that you have thoroughly demonstrated how each of these functions affect the sound. THANK YOU! I still want the Minimoog Model D as well, but the 3rd Wave sounds pretty convincing to me so far when it comes to classic analog sounds, even through UA-cam compressed audio. I like the fact that you can also blend that with the digital wavetable sounds to create some unique and very unusual patches you can never get from an analog synth.
Also, the power of this synth rivals the Moog One. I mean, this synth has 4 independent parts per patch and 24 voices with an individual effects slot for each. That's without mentioning all of the modulation capabilities this thing has. That's INSANE!!!! I still have to play one for myself to experience it fully. However, I'm extremely impressed as of right now.
Thanks again.
Glad I could help. Best way to thank me is to share the video. It's a ridiculously powerful synth. Everyone should know.
Cheers TJ
@@tjontheroadI agree 100%. Yes, I will definitely share this video!
Thanks for making these videos man! Appreciate seeing what others are doing with the synths I’m learning how to use.
Thanks for watching. Cheers TJ
Subscribed! Loved the topic it really helps so much understanding these updates and how one could use them.
Thanks for watching and the sub. More to come soon.
Cheers, TJ
Now try it with the Hydrasynth if you have one! I need my GAS cured
I had 2 Hydrasynths. Videos on Hydrasynth are available on my channel.
@@tjontheroad
Did you not prefer them that much ?
1st Hydrasynth was a desktop that I sold for the keyboard. Sold Hydrasynth keyboard after I got 3rd Wave. Just felt that it was too much the same thing as 3rd Wave and other synths in my stable.
Ok TJ……just how many synths do you OWN? Jeez!!! It was you who made me buy a Waldorf iridium keyboard and now THIS!! I have often wondered what in tge hell you do for a living. You certainly do appear to make good money! You own some substantial gear.
Seriously, thank you for your substantial content.
Currently, 15+ and eurorack. I've curated the studio over the last 20 years. I'm not rich. Just gear savvy. I have loving support from my friends and family. And subs like you.
Thanks for watching, TJ
Hi & thanks for the video, TJ. My 3rd Wave arrived four months ago and I'm still getting to grips with how powerful it is and your videos are a great help and easy to follow. The Groove Synthesis team have done an amazing job in creating this awesome sounding synth.
Thanks for watching. Groove knock it out the park with 3rd Wave. I still feel like I've only scratched the surface. That's partly because I get lost just playing the thing lol.
Cheers, TJ
