I also noticed it! I heard that in the books Kate is not very beautiful, nobody really notices her. SO much that when they get married and Anthony tells her "you're so beautiful" Kate thinks he's thinking about another woman. Obviously on the show it's very different, Simone is stunning, would be very hard not to notice, but i think they still wanted to show how Anthony falls in love with her personality, beside her obvious beauty

We won’t see a lot of Edwina (we may see her engaged to the prince). However Anthony and Kate are quite present as they live in the Bridgerton house and are viscount/ess.
She is great, maybe the story was a little too much of a slow burn....very different from the book, a completely different story....which for me, was very dissapointing because I think this beautiful story from the book deserved an adaptation on screen!!!
I thought chemistry was what was lacking in season two-no offense to either of them or the fact that Jonathan is a gay man playing a straight character-he had better on screen chemistry with the actress playing the opera singer-most are faking any love scenes when 'acting', sexual chemistry is usually just not there-but season one was so smoking hot and season two was definitely not. Sure, they are beautiful looking people but-it was a bore. Again, I find most 'love scenes' to be fake and gratuitous so this is no big surprise.
The chemistry between Jonathan Bailey as Anthony Bridgerton and Simone Ashley as Kate Sharma was off the charts, relatable, realistic, raw and grounded and I love watching them both and Bailey is an actor and he can play any role as long he is good and believable in it and Bailey nailed the role as Anthony.
I agree Diana, there were moments where I felt the scenes were over acted and not natural. Not like in season 1. I also felt that Season 2 seemed rushed.
It’s so interesting how different chemistry reads to different people. I felt that the chemistry was far more intense this season. Pretty much every Kate and Anthony scene had me feeling like I was intruding on a very private moment. Literally holding my breath, and little things like reaching their pinky fingers out to each other gave me chills. The 2nd half of S1 however just felt like physical visual stuff with no connection. I got bored of it all. 😂
