I think describing God of War as beautiful is one of the best words to describe it. Especially with how you summed up Kratos and Atreus's journey and personal growth throughout it. Sure the amazing graphics, level design, fantastic combat and numerous other elements also add to the beauty, but it's the characters and their story that really make it a beautiful game to play through.

I always thought the reason for the endless cycle of murder between Parent and Child was mainly an issue of Power Dynamics and Authority. One of the best features of life is evolution. Generational changes that can occur because old generations are forced to make way for new ones.
I imagine that if we were given the choice of whether or not we wanted to die/give up, a lot of us would choose not to. It's a tale as old as time itself, right? The myth of Eternal Life. The reason _why_ something like Eternal Life is so sought after is in itself a cautionary tale as to why death is necessary.
Death forces us out of our tendency to be selfish. It forces us to progress. To make way for future generations. To bond deeply with our offspring and to value the time we spend with those we love. Without Death, we would very likely see tales like those in mythology become commonplace. Where parents refuse to give up their authority, younger generations struggling to get out of their parents' shadows, and then refusing to give up _their_ authority to _their_ young due to how hard they had to fight for their own.
Kratos choosing to live as a man at the beginning is significant to me, because it means that he intends to both instill the values of humanity, and mantle the responsibility of godhood. He's going to try and reconcile the differences between the two cultures, and the reason for that is _for_ Atreus. A level of self-sacrifice that he learned from his time trying to emulate mortality.

Honestly I wouldn’t mind if god of war four was the end of the series, it’s just so perfect.😺
