I recall this song, plus other 60's classics/favourites, being played during the refreshment intermissions at the local Saturday Morning Cinema Club for kids during the mid/late 60's. John where did you get the information about the Cascades? I had never actually heard it by them, But i certainly want to now. But the earliest version i can find that links it to the cascades was in 1963 when they put it out on the B side of a single (Angel on my shoulder) that they only released in India. Johnny Burnette recorded his version in April 1960, 3 years before. In fact i believe that i once read that the writer of the song 'Barry De Vorzon' had actually written the song with 'Dorsey Burnette' in mind, who was Johnny's older brother. Who 'De Vorzon' was the manager of, so that would make sense. But thank you for telling me about the cascades version, i really want to hear it 👍

But the only one that did show a disc with a date on. Was 1963, a warner brothers release. So i am going with that as the correct date. Interestingly i was reading some of the comments which i love to do. I noticed that one person said that the 'Cascades weren't actually formed until 1962, when a couple of other groups merged and changed their name. That sounds like something i would like to have a nose around looking at when i have more time. But anyway thanks again John for pointing me in the direction of the 'Cascades' version. I really do love it. But now it's way past my bedtime, almost midnight here in London. Bye for now & be lucky 👍
