Hits I'm looking at adding this to my private PVE server I have with me and a buddy. Could you share your ini settings for this mod? I'm more interested in defending raids and killing them rather than taming them I heard this mod can spawn way too many without good settings. We play on the island right now
@@justins1917 sorry for the late response I personally usually use them on default but do have the number of spawns turned down I just need to get to my pc and I’ll send you some settings and you can tweak them to your liking I’ll send them shortly :)
@@mrclean6063angry little savages is the proper name. U can get these guys somewhat close in ark survival evolved except you gotta spawn them and forcetame em. They can’t harvest for you or anything but they are certainly great attackers. Edit: equipped a couple of mine with good bows and good crossbows. Gave one dude a longneck and they shoot at whatever you tell em to.
This mod is ace, they can over power you but as long as you have a trusty Rex by your side. ya can wipe them it’s okay. Im looking forward to build turrets around my base and I’ve never really had a reason to build them no I do pve
Thanks for covering this mod! Glad to see it has been ported over. I have an important question - does the giga torpor trick (straight narcoberries instead of tranks) used on high torpor drain tames in ASE still work in ASA? It works in ASE because the torpor code only reads up or down, it doesn't add the amounts up and down and apply the result. So berries cancel out the drain for a couple of secs when used, and it applies to each berry consumed. I'm just wondering if they updated the torpor code, or if it's still the same.
To be honest I don’t think it was changed on Asa I noticed when I first dropped in Asa I noticed that it was almost better to feed the narco berries so I do believe it’s still working the same as it did in ASE:)
Not sure if they patched it but they used to go around turning off generators in your base too, very annoying! I previously passive tamed them with cooked meat in my last slot?
You have the griffin mod i got but how do tame the pygmy griffins I've only seen 2 low lvs but are they passive or KO? Great review funny as hell. Sounds like a later install when established.
@@sweetcorn1936 well no lol no rockets or c4 but they come with their weapons and tear down ur thatch and wood bases lol however it wouldn’t surprise me if you could potentially set them to use c4 they are completely customizable as to what they carry on them the tier and type of armour and how strong or aggressive they are ..so u could create them to really reek havoc lol
This mod isn’t working properly for me. The textures on the buildings are glitching and the human I have is constantly holding a torch even though I put an axe in her hand. Idk what to do
TYVM for the review. Questions I have... how to set the mod up, What does each of them interact with when set to harvest. Can you arm your NPC's with GUNS or just what they originally came with? Looking for the in depth review I guess,,,, Can't find more info.. the discord link just OPENS discord without taking me to their discord. Can you explain the no NPC Sign? I make a sign and put NO NPC's on it???? How to spawn them? Currently snagging them with the argent and dropping them in a pen to tame them. Do Turrets and Species x target the wild ones? Again, tyvm, your review helped.
Here is a list of who harvests what Bow -- will randomly instigate an attack on small dinos Spear -- will catch fish Hatchet -- will gather stone, metal, flint and more. Sword -- will gather wood and thatch and more. Punch -- will gather berries, poop and seeds. Knockout Dinos Bola -- will randomly instigate an attack with Moschops, Parasaurs, Phiomias and Sheep Club -- will gather poop, fiber and thatch,Knockout Dino's. Currently I was not able to arm them with different weapons so right now at least it seems to not be an option…to set up the mod u just add it to your server or single player and do a Dino wipe to get them spawning in …you can passively tame them just as an fyi which I failed to mention in my video so I apologize…I am going to put out a video in the next few days about the taming and harvesting features and how all that should work …plant species and turrets treat them like a wild Dino so they will attack the npc …the no npc sign is just crafted in ur inventory and it’s actually called no npc sign I would suggest crafting a few and laying them all around your base area…if you need the spawn codes to admin spawn tames npcs I have that handy if u want it and if I missed one of your questions or I’m not clear on my explanation let me know :) and I’m definitely gonna get out a better video to go in depth on their features and how they put things away in storage boxes turn on standing torches etc. and taming them :)

Playing with them myself atm... Knocked out, I have no means of interacting, I cannot open their inventory to put food or Narcs.. granted this is after picking them up and carrying them to the taming pen with my Argent.... Came back from looking for them, to find them somehow inside the base, all of our sheep are dead etc... nasty little guys, outting up signs... is there an indicator for the radius the signs affect.. am sure I will think of more questions.. no need to answer if you are already planning that for your video... One electric tranq dart puts them down, but then I cannot do anything with them... Even when dead you can only drag their body, you cannot loot them. Must chop them up to get their gear...
@@kniteprince3798 there is no radius that I can find for the signs that is visible which sucks but place quite a few all around …they are nasty little things …I did notice even on ASE some seemed I could interact and tame on knock out and others you couldn’t have u tried passive taming yet most prefer that method at least I got a lot of comments to do it that way
Good question the mod page says turret mode to have them harvest and tend to you stuff like forge and crop plots but when I was doin the video I noticed the harvest option I’m gonna get clarification and I’ll get back to you on a definitive answer :)

Can you make them make better bases like with auto or heavy turrets? The mod says they use X plants but I’ve yet to even see a single base that isn’t a few stone, wood or thatch shacks
Not able to make them have turrets or build anything different but if u want them to build with plant species x you need to enter the following in ur admin cheat ScriptCommand turretsallowed 0 / 1 (0 = no Turrets X-Plants, 1 = Turrets X-Plants at villages)
This is something I feel should have been in the game from the beginning because like a survival game with tameable NPCs so even solos aren't lonely or People that have no friends for various reasons i never had anyone to play with and Playing solo isnt horrible but it sucked
Like it's perfect even for creative on your own private server you could create cities and small tribes exactly where you want them simulate wars and civilization you could be apart of or just watch over
Yes absolutely passive tame works I think that was the intensions from the developers both ways work but torpor goes down wayyy too fast on the knock out tame. :)
Thats really cool just wonder if they can block dino spawns . It would be nice if they have some limited area, or always same tribe, different tribes for each region
I do believe since they are piggy backing off Dino’s u will loose some Dino spawns but you can adjust how many you want spawning in you .ini settings as well as how aggressive they are :)

@@AdeptXR hmm that’s very strange when you remove it from your single player do you load into you single player and then log out re add and log back in?
@@AdeptXR no there isn’t a limit on how many mods you can have..I had an issue with a different mod the other day I removed it uninstalled and re added it but it was removing it from my active mods loading in without it and then logging out adding it and loading back in that seemed to work
Could you do a cross play cooking mod? I found one that seemed interesting but doesnt seem to work. Gastronome is name i think. Was trying to find one that is available for cross play.
Yes each kind of npc harvests different things they even will put things away add wood to your standing torches and gas to ur generator I do believe I set them to turret mode to do all this
The mod description says they can tame dinos? Has anyone run into that? Seeing the simplicity of their building has me at ease a bit but still concerned theyll manage to get a max giga and wreak havoc lol
They won’t get a giga lol and they have only began to tame and ride Dino’s I think with the last update haven’t seen them riding a Dino as of yet tho lol
They’re tribes can get fairly big I’d say sometime 20-30 npc in some tribes now all settings and how they function how savage how big all of that can be adjust in the .ini settings it is ver cunstomisable for ur own game play if h want
funny u say that cuz i’m not sure what their default drag weight is but you can change their drag weight max being 1000 and for them to tame a gigs is 950
How well does the No NPC sign work? Ive got a pve server with alot of worried people. Does it have a radius so they cant enter or do you need multiple signs?
Not 100% sure on the radius exactly I usually place a few around a good area and they won’t come bother you also if you use the hands up emote when they come they will not fight you as well
I hope so I don’t know of any other mods this developer has made just the human npc and it’s been over on ASE for years and now moved to ASA so I’m assuming they will continue to develop it as they have done for years…unless your referring to the primal npc mod?
@@hits975 no i mean the mods that this modder(zoneki11er) have made on ASE like every time there is a competition he makes a mod than after the competition he goes awol never fixing issues that is brought to his attention issues that are gamebreaking for a lot of servers
You can set them to build with plant species as turrets and they will come to ur base and try to break it down if u don’t have a sign up but they won’t actually steal your things
Yea that’s definitely an easier way to do it for sure I kinda forgot when I made the video lol but I intend to do an updated one just on taming and what they can be used for :)
They don’t ride Dino’s :( which I hope changes I miss the old primal npc mod that did that and they come already with weapons that depend on their job so the bowman have a bow and some have hatchets etc.

What do you mean where to find them ? The npc spawn everywhere on the map no particular place but soon as you build a base u can bet you’ll get neighbours pretty quick :)
You should see them without having to fly around.. do u have the no npc sign in ur engrams just to make sure it’s installed correctly and did u do a Dino wipe?

@@blakeabig8416 its a different sign than the regular wooden sign ark comes with. It has a peace sign on it and i believe is actually called no npc sign. Its a separate engram than the regular sign and its crafted on your person :)

Have you tried searching with and without the apostrophe or have you tried searching using human_NPC I don’t know why this one’s so hard to find honestly it’s weird but it’s definitely there and definitely crossplay I promise

according to the dev not yet they are still awaiting the dev kit to update apparently it’s a large update so might be a few days before it works on scorched :)
Lol that’s kinda funny but weird are you on console? Did you try uninstalling the mod and reinstalling ? Did u change any of the settings of like their armour or anything or left everything as default ?
@hits975 I'm on console I have reinstalled and I've equipped different armor to a few still nothing lol normally I wouldn't mind but just breaks my immersion time to time so I only tame females and name them slaves to fix immersion lol
@@kazyvad3962 lol thats honestly so strange lol ...however i did just here from another developer of a different mod that curseforges code on their end which is what codes the mod to be able to work for console is currently bugged which might be why your having this issue because some console players on a server i run are having an issue with a different mod but maybe this is why console players are having some issues over the last few days

Its not right for humans to need that much narc, like a dinosaur. They should be wild feral shet heads, but once you club them and drag them into a cage. Give clothes and food it should be tamed.
@@meyjore9305 there are technically 2 ways you can knock them out and feed meat they prefer honey tho and some u knock out you won’t be able to access their inventory I think the preferred way to tame is passively so you put meat or honey in ur last slot you have to do the put ur hands up emote so they don’t attack you…im getting ready to put out a video very soon on taming them and some of their features
We need a mod that lets you change the taming foods. Bc the taming food def needs to be beer 😭 but I’m glade we have a npc mod as a OG console player I’ve always wanted ark to add NPC’s atleast for single player but could never experience it on console. Now I can and I’m very glade. I’ve been waiting for someone to make a npc mod for ASA since I got the game. Now all I need is wild card to disable teather on single player so me and my friend can both enjoy the game without getting wiped every week and starting from scratch 🙃 actually now that I think about it can someone please fucking make a teather deletus mod? 😭😅 is that impossible? Lol definitely beer but honestly wouldn’t surprise me if u can change what they tame on lol the npc are dummy customizable to do and be whatever u want…the tether thing sucks I’m not a co sole player and I know at least on pc you can set tether as 99999 and not have to worry I’m blown away they never did this for asa on console tether is silly lol but you will really love having the npc minus the rage quit they make you feel at times they are a game changer and make a new ark experience…I have no idea why they couldn’t add a no tether mod lol :) and of course if you and your friend want to ur more than welcome to join our cross console server I haven’t added the npc yet but will be probably today lol your guys are more than welcome to join the discord and play with no tether :)
@@hits975 is it a pvp or pve server? I’ve never tried online pve don’t know if multiplayer without pvp is my thing I just can’t stand getting wiped every week by an alpha 😭 only complaint tbh 💀

They're passive tames if you don't agro them. Just snatch 1 up with a argy take it to a safe place and feed

You dont need to knock them out just the aggressive ones there a passive tame

I do believe since they are piggy backing off Dino’s u will loose some Dino spawns but you can adjust how many you want spawning in you .ini settings as well as how aggressive they are :)

@@AdeptXR no there isn’t a limit on how many mods you can have..I had an issue with a different mod the other day I removed it uninstalled and re added it but it was removing it from my active mods loading in without it and then logging out adding it and loading back in that seemed to work

Yes each kind of npc harvests different things they even will put things away add wood to your standing torches and gas to ur generator I do believe I set them to turret mode to do all this

They won’t get a giga lol and they have only began to tame and ride Dino’s I think with the last update haven’t seen them riding a Dino as of yet tho lol
They’re tribes can get fairly big I’d say sometime 20-30 npc in some tribes now all settings and how they function how savage how big all of that can be adjust in the .ini settings it is ver cunstomisable for ur own game play if h want
funny u say that cuz i’m not sure what their default drag weight is but you can change their drag weight max being 1000 and for them to tame a gigs is 950
How well does the No NPC sign work? Ive got a pve server with alot of worried people. Does it have a radius so they cant enter or do you need multiple signs?
Not 100% sure on the radius exactly I usually place a few around a good area and they won’t come bother you also if you use the hands up emote when they come they will not fight you as well

Will they build turreted bases too raid and stuff?
You can set them to build with plant species as turrets and they will come to ur base and try to break it down if u don’t have a sign up but they won’t actually steal your things
I always just walk up and feed them meat or berries from my last slot and passive tame them

They don’t ride Dino’s :( which I hope changes I miss the old primal npc mod that did that and they come already with weapons that depend on their job so the bowman have a bow and some have hatchets etc.

If you don’t see the no npc sign then your mods not working right I would try to uninstall and reinstall ….the sign has a peace sign on it now :)

What do you mean where to find them ? The npc spawn everywhere on the map no particular place but soon as you build a base u can bet you’ll get neighbours pretty quick :)

@@hits975 just for clarity, are the 'no npc' signs you refer to just a wooden sign that says 'no npc' or is it its own item you have to craft/learn?
@@blakeabig8416 its a different sign than the regular wooden sign ark comes with. It has a peace sign on it and i believe is actually called no npc sign. Its a separate engram than the regular sign and its crafted on your person :)

You can adjust how many npc you want spawning I think by Default it’s 800 but you can lower or raise if u wanted

@hits975 I'm on console I have reinstalled and I've equipped different armor to a few still nothing lol normally I wouldn't mind but just breaks my immersion time to time so I only tame females and name them slaves to fix immersion lol
@@kazyvad3962 lol thats honestly so strange lol ...however i did just here from another developer of a different mod that curseforges code on their end which is what codes the mod to be able to work for console is currently bugged which might be why your having this issue because some console players on a server i run are having an issue with a different mod but maybe this is why console players are having some issues over the last few days

Once you talk for a while you get to a decent audio volume, but then ou pause for a moment and start yelling for a bit. Then you gradually simmer down to a decent talking level.

Its not right for humans to need that much narc, like a dinosaur. They should be wild feral shet heads, but once you club them and drag them into a cage. Give clothes and food it should be tamed.

Bc the taming food def needs to be beer 😭 but I’m glade we have a npc mod as a OG console player I’ve always wanted ark to add NPC’s atleast for single player but could never experience it on console. Lol definitely beer but honestly wouldn’t surprise me if u can change what they tame on lol the npc are dummy customizable to do and be whatever u want…the tether thing sucks I’m not a co sole player and I know at least on pc you can set tether as 99999 and not have to worry I’m blown away they never did this for asa on console tether is silly lol but you will really love having the npc minus the rage quit they make you feel at times they are a game changer and make a new ark experience…I have no idea why they couldn’t add a no tether mod lol :) and of course if you and your friend want to ur more than welcome to join our cross console server I haven’t added the npc yet but will be probably today lol your guys are more than welcome to join the discord and play with no tether :)
