kawasaki Superbike and F1: Championchip from DOMARK were amacing!!! full 3D graphics with background rotation, and super smooth without any chip agreed!!!! Megadrive have 3D potential
The Domark games look amazing, but they cheat like hell for it. Rotation is just a little skew effect the Genesis hardware can do, the road is a pretty ordinary linescroll road, and the polygonal scenery is... well, it's polygonal, but the way points are calculated is pretty weird. On the other hand, they do have a lot of real scaling sprites all over the place (that's not cheated at all, that's real), and it's all much smoother than in Road Rash, too. ...and there isn't too much advantage to doing it "the clean way," look at Hard Drivin' or the other polygon games on the machine like LHX Attack Chopper, which don't cheat one bit graphically and pay dearly for it. :D The machine does have potential though -- someone was working on a "port" of Starfox to an expanded Genesis, and they got it rendering surprisingly smooth with proper all-range 3D, it was really neat.
+null1023 The Lankhor/Domark games don't "cheat" but do exactly what they do & rock! The tilting effect is welcome & provides a better immersion, the 3D sceneries provide a certain depth & the real sprites scaling (present in F1 & Kawasaki Superbike Challenge but not in F1 World Championship Edition) definitely put these games on the top for their time (beyond any SNES counterparts). The Road Rash games are different kind of beasts since some sprites have animations (punches; kicks...) & the overal game engine is specific to these games (& also Skitchin') with a somehow "noisy" scaling but still clean & efficient enough to bring a nice experience which was quite impressive for its time (&, again, something you don't see on SNES. The only similar SNES game I can think of is Super Mad Champ &, lol, no comment ^^'). Lastly the full 3D Mega Drive games have, for most of them, decent frame rate for their time. Some of the best includes Race Drivin', F22 Interceptor or F-15 Strike Eagle II, all good games still quite recommendable (& something that the SNES can't achieve without any additional chip in cartridge). So yeah, the Mega Drive has potential which was already very well exploited but can still be pushed further. The Starfox homebrew is pretty nice but need a lot more works. Also I wonder if it would be doable to clone the SVP (the chip used for the Mega Drive port of Virtua Racing) & use it for future Mega Drive games...

Anyway many full 3D games on Genesis: Hard Drivin'; Race Drivin'; F22 Interceptor; F-15 Strike Eagle II; LHX Attack Chopper etc. + some 2D games that also use 3D at some point: F1 & F1 World Championship Edition; Kawasaki Superbike Challenge; etc. + of course the single game to date that uses an added chip to boost the system 3D capabilities: Virtua Racing & its SVP chip.
