Just sharing but folks should know that the MDF sacrificial fence is an extra 21$ on top of the 50 for the new aluminum extrusion. First portion of the video sorta came off as it was included for the 50$.
You are 100% correct. Was a misunderstanding on my part. I'll pin this comment to the top and post a correction in the description. Thanks for catching that and for watching Lukas!
Great video. I been wanting something like this, so I was disappointed when you showed it couldn't be use with a feather board, but I just check my DWE7491RS that I bought in 2020 and the fence does now lock down tight to the table. Good news for me. Thanks!
Feather boards aren't meant to push (hard). They're meant to prevent lift or drift by slight pressure. So, I think you can use a father with this, as long as it's adjusted correctly before cutting.
It's an awesome table saw and table fence. It does the job. The $50 fence upgrade is well worth it. Thanks for a great review, Mike, excellent video! 👍
Rock solid, Mike. Like Balmy's 7491 in an earlier comment, my fence locks down solidly. Furthermore, I can't tell you how happy I am to see this video, because I was just looking at how I could make the fence longer with some sort of extension, while building it to carry hold-down hardware. Well, this TSO jobbie provides exactly what I needed in way of provision for attachment and augmentation. Great work, and in my case timely. Thanks, Mike.
Well done my Windy City Brother! Really dig this fence, and not a bad price! Glad you put it through its paces. Have an older Dewalt, not on stand, about 20 years old. Fence is same as yours. So I think it will fit.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍👍
I also had issues with me dewalt table saw fence and got the same tso rip fence. I had too much movement and I it was not square to the table. To fix all of that, I had to shim and screw down the fence to the aluminum rail it attaches to. I also had to shave a little of the plastic off where is slides into the new tso fence to get it square. Some of the other commenters are saying the new fences don't have these issues, but if you have an older saw it is possible to tune it up. I takes some shimming and modifying.
You need to get a new DeWalt saw because I bought one about 6 months ago and the fence does not flex like that it is more solid and yes, I would buy that fence it look fantastic. Just to let you know I bought that saw because of your review on the 7491RS It's a great saw Thank You and keep up the great work.
I had this dewalt for 12 years, and still performing well..- yes, it has some design issues but overall great saw for the money. (2012 Original price 495.00)
I’d love to know if yours is a version 1 and if your fence lifts like the saw in the video? Says the version number on the plaque on the front. Commenters have been saying the newer versions don’t have the fence lift issue. Thanks for watching!
Jesus, I NEVER noticed the slot on top of the Skil fence! Until just now that I saw it next to the others, I never....I'm an idiot, given that I was actually trying to figure out a way to attach things to it without drilling through... Well, once again, thank you!
I've got a couple of DW744 saws. A type 2 and a Type 6. Not sure how they made it better as these are great saws. Someone commented on anther video this fence will fit my saws if you cut them shorter. Not sure if I can afford to get the fence though as the last thing I ordered from the US was 4 times the cost by the time I got it in my hands. I might try one off Temu.
I love the saw and somewhat hate the fence system. Even after installing the TSO upgrade, I'm working on squaring the fence to the table. It would be a simple issue if it were leaning away from the blade, but it's leaning toward the blade, at around 20 thousand with a 2-inch square. That will mess a little with accuracy but also put more stress on the top of the blade, especially with harder material.
Mike, what could be better for me than a DeWalt fence upgrade? Love the wife's screwdriver. Since you are a real man, you have no problem pulling that pink look off ( I can rock it, too). Should have checked square with the sacrificial fence attached, jut out of curiosity. You've made a nice upgrade there. Impressive how you were manhandling that sheet of 3/4. Those days are over for this old dog.
This fence is killer Meat, I'd be shocked if TSO doesn't release one for every popular saw on the market. Thats actually my Moms screwdriver. She asked for one for mother's day after using my orange one. Snappy just happened to have pink. After mom passed I took it back. Funny thing is the wife wanted one after seeing my moms so we actually have two. I get a kick out of throwing it in videos, occasionally I get a funny comment about it. Thanks for watching!
@@ProjectsForAllReviews Mike, sorry man, I was trying to be funny not disrespectful. But, what a wonderful way to pay tribute to your Mom by using a tool that she used. Sorry for your loss and I hope I didn't overstep. I'll keep the dumb ass comments to myself going forth.
I have one of the new Dewalt 7491RS that I bought last month a Lowes and the fence does NOT have any lift like yours on cuts about 12 to 16 inches wide. Out beyond that I get a very tiny amount. At max rip width maybe a couple mm is about it. Certainly not enough to make it a concern in regards to accuracy for 99.9% of woodworking cuts I'll be making. So...THANK YOU for finding this awesome product! I've been thinking about how to improve the fence to allow various jigs to be used, and now I know just how I'll do that! :D
The title identifies the saw as being great, I had one I recently got rid of. I didn’t find it so good. My old $50 delta is fairly equal, but certainly no more than a typical saw. My Dewalt saw was about the only Dewalt tool I was truly unimpressed with. Many saws in the price range are far better than this saw, In my opinion. But don’t get me wrong, it’s not a bad saw, just a typical throw it in the back of the truck, job site grade saw.
I’ll spend a little time looking at that fence and maybe order some parts to see if I can fix it without spending a ton of money. Can you tell me if yours is a version 1? Thanks for watching!
I don't think the lift problem you menyion is a major problem. Your roller guides are meant to keep the stock on the table, not to push it down. They're adjusted to the correct height on each cut or stock change So, normally the fence won't get a significant upward force short of a kickback.
I don’t disagree with you. My biggest issue I guess would be it’s near impossible to adjust the rollers to the correct height to hold the stock down without overly putting pressure downward. Do I pull up on the fence when setting the height. Otherwise the rollers really aren’t holding the stock. Thanks for the comment and for watching!
Loved the video. Keep up the great work….I have the cheap skill saw and about a month ago I utilized the track on top to install a modular fence allowing me to install the jessem beefier clear cut guides. I am going over the weekend take pictures and a video showing the nifty gizmo and will post the link over here in case anyone is interested. Mark Qandil
The fence moving up is a design flaw on TSOs part. Testing it should have revealed the flaw and they could have added a simple bracket to clamp down onto the fence track. The way it is now, its only good for adding a sacrificial fence to, which you could have done before by drilling a couple holes in the original fence.
All the comments so far say the newer DeWALTs do not flex like that. Must be a first gen problem? Could explain why TSO didn't allow for a fix. The saw in the vids probably 12 years old which doesn't help I guess. Thanks for watching MAGA!

I read the title and thought “of course DeWalt improved the saw, I just brought one!” Lol. I like the fence
Fence is totally worth $50 IMO. Congrats on the new saw and thanks for watching Brian!
It's an awesome table saw and table fence. It does the job.
The $50 fence upgrade is well worth it.
Thanks for a great review, Mike, excellent video! 👍

Another informative video, thanks for your content. I'll second the wish for this for the Skil - love that loud little saw.
Yep, would be impossible to beat that little Skil with this fence for $320! Thanks for watching Bobby!
I'd buy one for the Skil in a heartbeat!

Great video Mike I’ve been looking at this TSO Fence for my saw and the JessEm rollers also definitely helped me make a decision.
Thanks for watching Jim! Glad the video helped!
The latest versions of Dewalt table saw fences do not lift like that. The lock in real solid.
Thanks for letting us know Niko and thanks for watching!

Thanks for the review. I would just suggest putting a f clamp/spring clamp on to stop the fence lifting
Yes would have made sense to show that esp for the demo, easy fix really for the older saws. Thanks for watching!

I’d like to do that one as well. Maybe we can fit it in early 2025. Thanks for watching Andrew!

@@ProjectsForAllReviews mine is a Type 2
does this fit on the skil table saw too? they have similar designs, so i wonder...
I'd be shocked if we don't see this fence for more popular saws soon. Thanks for watching!
Great videos.. Off subject, Does anyone have part or suggest for blade dust port for DW 745
As per the other dude my fence locks down solid with no movement whatsoever.. You might want to try tightening up some screws or something.

Clear video, thanks. 🇦🇺👴🏻
Glad you like the vid! Thanks for watching!
too bad they don't make one for Milwaukee or other brands with the rack n pinion fence system
TSO would be smart to make this fence for all the popular models. It's really good and worth the $50. Time will tell. Thanks for watching William!
