I grew up singing these songs. It reminds me of my mom and dad. My mom passed away 8 yrs ago. My dad passed away this year. They told me to keep your faith and pray every day. It's hard without them. Listening to these songs helps me to stay strong. Bless everyone!

my favorite songs to sing. people always ask why i dont sing any other songs. one night i sang all comanche, it was all rowdy....kiowa same....navajo it was a debate on my song choice....winnebago it was loud...when i sing sioux and cree songs, you get the harmonizing that i enjoy between woman and men alike. there is no distinguish of who is louder. straight harmonizing and beautiful sounds.
I am navajo and i do love my language but there is no judgement in cree and sioux nations...navajos are too judgemental reason why i am commenting, cause my own people want me to sing my own language, when i do, they always ask "why did you sing that song, when you should sing this song? i love the peace in other nations....
this ceremony is intertribal, there is no first. only by creator will we understand that creator brought this ceremony to us. this way to sing and praise creator. its by his blessing we are healed, not by conductor or who sings better. creator accepts us all equally.
the only way we sing good is by utilizing what was given to us as a child and that is our own voice and our own talents. even in church songs of hymns are not judged by whos choir is better by the eyes of god. its in our own voice. if we accept our own and live by that...we are all beautiful.

My dad was Navajo and learned from my mom’s Cheyenne father and family. He was admired for his beautiful singing. Sing what brings you to Creator. It’s always our personal relationship with JC and Creator. Sing what brings you happiness. Peace and love brother 🙏🏼❤️

My choka Sam n my Gaga Ann used to go out and lead prayer meetings for my relatives here. My jaji always told me that my Gaga love how they would harmonize. My jaji would tell me how he would sit at these meetings and take it all in. He remember these men as they stood. I'm am blessed to know such history.

I grew up listening to these songs . We would leave at dusk and to in a track as we traveled to my uncle cline for a peyote meeting the next day. Our father passed , and he reminded me to keep going to the Peyote meeting. As our mother passed, I would take my children. Now I have the memories.
