So glad you will finally be able to work indoors in your own place. Leave as many trees as you can to keep it hidden. Incorporate a strong beam for lifting chains, even had one on wheels like Big Paul has. You can't do it all with a fork-lift.
Yea. It will be surrounded and not able to be seen from the road. That was one of my goals. This one is not a red iron building so using the structure to support a beam will not work. I do plan to at some point add something for an over head but that will be another save up deal. Thanks as always.
Nice, look forward to seeing Gary, where you've got the room if you want to sleep there, it might be worth having some of that room as a small upholstery shop area, that way you keep it clean from the rest of the shop, just a thought, really happy for you Brother.
Yea, I have thought about making a “clean” room and that may happen above the that room. Head room wouldn’t be the best up there since only have 14’ side walls but think can make something work. Thanks as always for your comments and support!
Thanks! It was a big investment that took way too long to save up for. Next time your down at peterbilt we should get dinner. Well if there is time around the busy schedule!
congrats on getting the new shop gary. i have been planning for a new shop at one of my other properties for a few months now. i looked at all different sizes. the minimum width i would consider is 40 ft. it stinks trying to work around a truck or two with minimal room between it and the wall. i would consider a second overhead door as well. one door can be very restrictive when you need to get in or around something your working on. i have decided on 60 deep 80 wide with 4 14ft wide doors on the 80ft wall and one 14 door on each 60 ft wall. that way i can get a full 75 ft long truck and trailer inside if needed. im also going extra tall so i can add a 24 ft by 80 ft lean to style cold storage on the sides later and still have a good ceiling height in it. looking forward to seeing what you build.
I’m excited to say the least. I wanted a 40’ wide but it would have ment waiting another year and well I’m not getting any younger. Haha. That shop you have planned sounds like it is gonna be a beast! Really excited to see the new “JC Smith World Headquarters “. Thanks as always for all your support. You have been a wealth of knowledge
No I Wish that I did though There's too many already that have Channels that Fix Lawn Tractors I have been thinking about it for sure Just not Quite sure how you start one. Yep keep the mill/machine tools away from the plasma table/grinding/welding area. Putting them in the opposite corner, would be optimal, for protection. Best wishes from the far North.
That is good news my friend about The shop can’t wait to see you build the shop that is Exciting news good to see you happy about this put some hard work in it and you will get it build my friend be safe
Yea, they are insulated but I think for access it is almost necessary. I might make an extra wind break deal to seal it up better. Critters is another big concern for me. Maybe can rivnut some stuff in to attach it. 😉
I’m so excited! The quality of projects can get so much better. Hope you guys are looking forward to this new adventure!

A Barndominum?
Room for backhoe and tractor.
Room to work on thinks as well.

How much land do you have?
Thanks. I’m super excited. I think it will help with videos allot.
Let’s do it brotha!
Man door on both ends of the shop for wintertime. Don’t want to open that big door to get in and out of the other side when it’s nasty outside.

excited for you Gary. This is quite an expense, i hope this is not going to make you 'house poor".
Thanks. No, I am not a person that takes on debt. That is why it has taken me so long to get a shop!
