I do travel and real estate videos, I’ve built/bought a few drones over the years. I was waiting for the Air 3 to be released but decided the air 2S will do everything I need. That and as I write this, the tipping point was, I picked it up at a 20% off sale, I’m pretty happy with my decision to not wait for a much more expensive future Air3. Now that I went for the Air 2S, they will be announcing the Air3 with amazing features (at $2000) you can thank me now.
Just upgraded from an Air2 to Air2S to get into remote id compliance. Got a factory refurbished fly more combo directly from DJI. It came in just over $1000 with taxes and two years of the Care Refresh.
I was looking for this video! I'm thinking over and over the Mavic 3 classic and the Air 2S and i think i'll go with the Air 2S, i believe it's totally worth buying one in 2023, specs of the drone are very good. Thank you!
I can only agree with you. I ve bought mine Air 2S at the beginning of the year after long time flying my Mavic Mini. It was great deal it will be long journey to get used to it but it has so much potential for my future trips and maybe one day first projects.
Totally agree with you. I went with 2S about 6 weeks ago, the Mavic 3 or 3 classic just didn't seem worth laying out an additional thousand for what you were getting. I was using mini 2 before and the 2S image is definitely an upgrade. Couple things kind of suck tho. 1) You can't shoot 60 fps in any resolution without it cropping in (not that you need it cause generally footage is sped up, but would be nice to have as an option), 2) There's no option to buy it with the advanced controller so when you do upgrade to better drones you have to buy completely new controller. I thought would be better to buy this now, and wait a year or two til next generation of drones get introduced with better features.
Yes, it’s dumb that we can’t buy it with the DJI RC. I had to buy that controller separately and the one that came with the 2S just sits on a shelf. Still, to me it was worth it. My iPhone screen dims in the heat and I need to be able to see it clearly. Plus, it is simple to use and seems to stay connected to the aircraft better than the N1.
I bought a used Air2s from someone that flew it twice. Combo package and refresh and looked brand new. Honestly used drones are easy to get because many people buy them and simply dont have the time to fly them.
my first drone was the dji mavic 2 pro and sadly had to sell it for financial reasons, when I was ready to buy another one, I went with the air 2s, I do miss the camera in the mavic 2 pro but the air 2s is compatible other than the adjustable aperture.
@@inlope4117 Get the Mini if you don't want to deal with licensing and weight, and you mostly do stuff for fun and post on social media. Get the 2S if you're more serious in making cinematic footages or any kind of commercial.
At 4:47 you say that the Mini 3 has sensors to the front and down but of course the Mini 3 Pro also has sensors to the back. The Mini 3 however only has sensors downward.
Great video! I’m definitely gonna go with the Air 2S, the image that come out of it looks amazing. Like you said as well, I also don’t think that the mavic 3 is worth it for the price.
It's on sale now for 15% off. But usually when DJI does this they are getting ready to release another model, maybe the Air 3. I have the Air 2s and I upgraded from the Air 2 in 2021.
I have all 3. It's not image quality, not entirely. Mavic 3 is a Flagship, high powered, feature rich drone, with Night Mode, Cruise Control and Waypoints. Mini 3 is the Stealth option, small, quiet, good for avoiding attention. So why did I ADD Air 2S? a) SDK available so wide support from 3rd Party apps, Litchi, Maven and... b) I have an Insta360 Sphere that I love - they chose Mavic Air 2/Air 2S; a popular model that has the lifting power to handle nearly 200 gram extra payload, knowing Mavic 3 was expensive and sold in smaller # of units. Considered re-aquiring MA2, but why retread past ground? In hindsight, the few extra minutes flight time would be nice, but I was curious having skipped A2S when it was released.
Nice video but you forgot to mention the Mavic 3 Classic which changes the situation on the price somewhat. Also all the features such as cruise control are not to be found on the Air 2s as far as I know.
Purchased a second user Air 2S for £350 ($450) as an upgrade from my trainer drone, my Mini 2 SE. OMG! Best £350 I have ever spent. The difference between the two is almost impossible to describe, especially with the image quality. Suffice it to say it's a game changer. Was more than happy to have to register and maybe even take it to the next level and do some commercial stuff now that I am more confident and competent. (Oh and the bonus? sold my Mini2 SE for £275 ($350)) Even the wife couldn't really complain!
dji air2s more then enough in 2023 and also for next 3 - 4 year. because of it's image quality. 5.4k in 10-bit d-log & hlg it's really awesome. If you work on high budget short film or advt. then mavic 3 classic is best option. other wise air2s beat mavic 3 in more of situation except battery backup & side obstacle avoidance . EXCELLENT GOOD REVIEW. ALWAYS SMILING LOVE FROM INDIA. JAY SRI RAM🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
If you talk about that, this drone is equipped with a 22 mm equipment, focal length, compared to the Mavic and mini drones that are equipped with a 24 mm equivalent. Personally, I like the look of the wider 22 mm.
You didn’t mention wind resistance. The Air 2s has better wind resistance than the 3 and I suspect the Mavic 3 is better than the air2s. I own the mini 2 the air2s and the mini 3 pro.
Does anyone know why my videos have a purple tint one second, then goes back to normal and then purple for 3-4 seconds at a time? It's never done this before, and have it up to date?
seems like 3S is def coming. B&H permanently cut price on Air 2S couple weeks ago, they usually do that when they are trying to clear out old stock before new model comes in.
This summer i want to go in a trip with my motorcycle, i will travel alone, what do you recommend between those two? I want to have some follow me shots.
@@ClayPerry Thanks Clay. I’ve had it for a couple of weeks now and am thrilled with it. Best value for the money. Recording video at 5.4 K allows me to pan and zoom to my hearts content and still render super sharp 2K or 4K videos with lots of smooth motion. Awesome!
You lost me when you said there wasn't much difference between a Mini III and a Mavic III sensor. I switched off at that point and am going to watch a Mavic III drop grenades on humans.
For everyone in Europe the Air2S just isnt an option. You HAVE to go with either the Mini 3 Pro or the Mavic 3, given the new regulations. Air2S will be relegated to A3 category as of next year which will really limit locations that you can fly in dramatically!

at $900 including the refresh care and smart controller and fly more, I wouldn't wait for the Air3 which is starting at $2000 :)
