    Three Jinjer suggestions:
    1. Tatiana has a video on how she does her scream/ growl.
    2. Teacher Teacher is a must.
    3. She also has a one take performance of Judgement and Punishment.

      @LanmanFTW 3 роки тому +1

@@MikaTarkela it's really pretty easy to tell when people aren't being genuine... Not to mention Tatiana didn't even get "scale armor" ( the very first words when Tatiana switches to her growl) out of her mouth yet! she immediately paused it and start giving her whole Analysis/reaction... that "she's in love with her already" blah blah blah... How can she give this reaction when she hasn't even heard Tatiana's style and technique yet.... So completely obvious she's already heard it.
Edit: I don't know if links work in the comment section. but this , and 99% of other genuine reactions... This is a legitimate reaction hearing jinjer/ Pisces/ Tatiana for the first time.

This is my 1 year old granddaughter's FAVORITE song. Since she was born I have played music for her and enjoyed it with her. I started with classical, then classic rock, then rap and 90's grunge/alternative. She's liked parts of all o it. But I started showing her my metal background and she was instantly hooked. She now knows about 6 songs instantly within about 2 bars, this song especially. Thanks for your reaction

Plus, as a bonus, the first single from their upcoming album is dropping THURSDAY (June 17). You have a lot to catch up on and some stuff you can discover right along with us Jinjer lovers! Jinjer has been my favorite band and I listen to them daily since stumbling across them in early 2019. It was a Thursday when I first heard them. Friday, the very next day, I bought tickets to their concert (awesome show) and I can't wait to see them again this December. Like others have noted, no bad songs and the lyrics are sheer poetry. Great reaction, subbed as well

Great reaction Aileen. Yeah Jinjer is a phenomenal band. They are Tatiana (vocals), Eugene (bass), Roman, (guitar), and Vlad (drums). They are from Eastern Ukraine, so Russian is their native language. Tati gets the most attention because of her incredible vocals, but make no mistake, Eugene, Roman, and Vlad are equally impressive musicians. The Jinjer rabbit hole is deep, so enjoy the ride. I'm gonna suggest reacting to Perennial live at Wacken open Air 2019 as your next Jinjer reaction. You'll get to see them perform live in a concert setting, and you'll really see and hear just how incredible they are. Peace and as always, stay Metal. 😊🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🎶🎶🎶🎶

    @j.f.fisher5318 3 роки тому +13

You are going to have fun. Jinjer is great all around, and this is one of their 3-4 lightest songs. They became my favorite band almost instantly, ok it was actually after Who Is Gonna Be The One official live, which is on the heavy side with a focus on growls. Some other great concert videos are Perennial live at Wacken for a song with similar intensity to Pisces but faster switching between cleans and growls, Judgement & Punishment one take which is just epic, Pit Of Consciousness live in Kiev for one of their most impressive videos with great music and vocals along with amazing lighting and upgraded stage production, and Sit Stay Roll Over live in Melbourne with more of her best vocal techniques than Ive seen her do in any other performance of a song live.
Look for concerts in your area. They have upcoming shows this fall that are selling out fast. You'll kick yourself if you miss them.
I agree with the recommendation of checking out Spiritbox - also they like horror themes in their videos. Blessed Be is my favorite because relationships are hard and who doesn't feel like that from time to time haha. Rule Of Nines is great too, as is Holy Roller, with the official being my preferred of the 3 videos for that one.
For more in a similar vein, check out Ad Infinitum's song "Marching On Versailles" official, Infected Rain's "Orphan Soul" official, Otep's "Ghostflowers" off the Confrontation live DVD (Otep Shamaya inspired Tatiana of Jinjer and I suspect Lena of IR, possibly Maria Brink of ITM too and she does voiceover work portraying monsters in games and movies), Vintersea's "Illuminated" official, and Arch Enemy's "Something To Believe" official for Alissa doing cleans and growls - most AE aongs are all growls such as Alissa's "Nemesis" live at Wacken or Angela's "We Will Rise" MFVF 2010.

WOAH! I've never heard of Jinjer before, either. Thanks for sharing it with us! That vocal range is absolutely incredible. The way she can vocalize and transition on a sliding scale from delicate and feminine all the way to powerful and demonic in multiple ranges, just blows my mind. The instrumentals have a nice way of harmonizing with her by ranging from a sort of ethereal sound all the way to smashing lamps. Its got such a dark metaphysical energy to it. Feels like walking in some dark, foggy forest and suddenly stepping on a mountain lions tail. Your humility and honesty in your reactions are wonderful to watch!

That last part where she switches from growl to clean belt ("Searching for a hook to catch on and see their sun beam") and then back to growls seems only in this version. Studio/ album version they layered the clean and growl. They also performed this song at Wacken 2019. (Appears it was right before Perennial too). She growls the entire last part. I think I heard or read in an interview that she mixes it up so she doesn't get bored...another reason is so she doesn't mess up the belting part (as done in the live session video).

Great reaction, subbed and thank you for bringing the unique fantastic genre twisting music of Jinjer to more people! Sorry for the long comment, I just love Jinjer too much and love seeing people fall in love with them and each of their songs!
For most of their songs, the three guys write most of the instrument music, then Tatiana writes most of the lyrics and melodies. Roman the guitarist has written a lot of the instrument music in the past, but I heard that Vlad the drummer wrote more or most of it for the album about to drop (the first video from the new album comes out tomorrow). I'm not sure how much Eugene composes, but I know that apart from his amazing work on the bass, he adds riffs and writes some of the lyrics.
The band (all members have been Ukrainian, with Russian their first language) started in eastern Ukraine in 2009 as a group of five with none of the current members (they consider the official start of the band as 2010 when Tatiana and replaced the male vocalist and Roman joined as lead guitar), Vlad is the fifth drummer (joined in 2016) and it's been a group of four since 2015 (though they consider their sound engineer a fifth member). I think they're still friends with all the former members.
One of the things I love most about Jinjer is the messages in Tatiana's lyrics and the growling being so powerful for expressing the anger and pain in those messages: the anti-war message in Home Back, the anti-greed in On The Top and No Hoard Of Value (also the horror of the coal mining industry in their home Ukraine), the protest song Who Is Gonna Be The One, the anti-fascism of Sit Stay Roll Over, the anger at people being narrow minded in Teacher Teacher and Judgment & Punishment, the struggles with mental health in Pit Of Consciousness and Perennial, the giving voice to mother nature angry at humanity for destroying her in a bunch of songs like Ape, The Prophecy, Cloud Factory, Noah and Bad Water. Other favorites are I Speak Astronomy, Retrospection, Words of Wisdom, Just Another, Captain Clock, Scissors, Outlander, Exposed As A Liar, I Want It I'll Get It, A Plus Or A Minus, Dip A Sail, When Two Empires Collide, Beggar's Dance and lainnereP. I haven't found a Jinjer song I don't love, so I think you can't go wrong if you choose any of them, but a few good choices might be Perennial (live at Wacken), Judgement & Punishment (Tatiana's one take performance), Pit of Consciousness (live in Kiev/Kyiv) or the heartwrenching plea against war in Home Back (official video). Enjoy! ❤🤘

She's using and is considered one of the masters of the false chord. Using the second set of vocal cords to produce her distortion which in turn enables her to go back to clean vocals without straining them. If you look at her throat, it doesn't look tense what do even during the heavy parts

The whole band is absolutely amazing, but yeah Tati is a beast.
Can pretty much pick any of their songs and find something amazing that in most cases you've never heard anything like it before, but I personally enjoy Perennial (Live at Wacken 2019), Teacher, Teacher (official video), and Retrospection(official or live)
If you have time I recommend diving into the lyrics of the songs you listen you, I think you'll love them even more after that.
Loved the reaction, enjoy the ride down the Jinjer rabbit hole :)

Just found your channel through this reaction. I'm no vocal coach, but if I'm not mistaken, she(Tatiana)is using her false folds to achieve that growl/scream. So her vocal chords aren't getting damaged. It's all the "meat"(for lack of a better word in my vocabulary lmao) above the vocal chords flapping around. I could be wrong, as there are other techniques to growl.
I'm sure you've already been flooded with new Jinjer requests, so I will recommend something different.
If you haven't heard of them, please check out the Canadian band Unleash The Archers. Their lead singer Brittney Slayes is a powerhouse. I wont compare her to Tatiana from Jinjer, as they sing in totally different styles. Jinjer plays a mix of metalcore/progressive metal, hence the groovy verses and punch you in the face choruses.
Unleash The Archers plays a fusion of power metal, heavy metal, and melodic metal. Basically they are fast, hard hitting drums, insane guitar work, with long melodic vocals on top. Even if this style, from a musical composition standpoint, is not your style, her vocals are definitely something to be heard.
Brittney does not growl(the guitarists do though), as she is mainly a chest/mix belter. Her lows are extremely resonant, and she brings that power all the way up to an A5 mixed belt in the song Tonight We Ride. Link: ua-cam.com/video/UOvZKJlrtk8/v-deo.html
    Subbed from Toronto 🤘🇨🇦

Wow thank you for that insight!! I’ve never tried to do this type of growl/scream so I was so in awe at boys this was being done!!!
Thank you so much for the music suggestion as well! Welcome!! 🤟🏻🤟🏻♥️

In addition to enjoying the commentary of video reactions to this, there are three parts that I key in on in particular: the first switch to growling (of course), the start to the second verse (resumption of clean vocals), and the quick switch to cleans in the last growling part.
I think that, while you didn’t know HOW she was doing the growl, you had some idea from the start that it doesn’t use the actual vocal chords, because on my second key point (start of second verse cleans), your face showed no surprise that she resumed cleans with no issue. Nice reaction, all around.

Such a great reaction to this, thanks for posting.
Jinjer are a great band, they are:
    Tatiana on vocals,
    Roman on guitar,
    Eugene is the bassist,
    Vlad is the drummer,
They're from the Ukraine. This live session was done as a showcase for Vlad the drummer as he'd just joined the band at this time. The entire band are really talented but I find Tatiana extraordinary. Please check out 'Perennial' live at Wacken 2019, 'Teacher, Teacher' the official video, 'Judgement (and Punishment)' both the official video (for the story) and Tatiana's one-take vocal version (for her performance), maybe do it as a double-header, two videos in one reaction. I promise that you won't be disappointed, Aileen!
You have a new subscriber in me too. 🙂

I believe you will love this video. Tatiana is a wonderful singer. She has a great range. Beware, when the drummer starts the rim shoots business is about to pick up. I think this group is the BEST thing to ever come out of the former U.S.S.R. Period. She is so small, yet her voice is so BIG. Near the end of the song Tatiana really shows off her range. EPIC!

This is the Jinjer rabbit hole. The deeper you dive the more impressed you'll be. Pisces is the secret opening to the hole...everything you said is exactly what i said when i first watched this as i watched it 10 times in row just to be sure. Jinjer became my new favorite band & Tatiana is now my all time favorite singer of any genre. She's humble & yet is in command.

Well! Another unsuspecting soul falls into the Jinjer rabbit hole!! Welcome to an endless journey of musical bliss! This incredible progressive metal juggernaut from Ukraine is sweeping the land, pouring out their amazing songs to all us helpless minions, displaying their unreal song writing, technical prowess, and unrelenting performance stamina everywhere they go. All four of these people are absolute giants of musicianship! Ok, you get the idea... So, do Teacher Teacher official vid next. Or, really, any song - this band simply does not have a bad song. But be ready to have your musical sensibilities completely saturated! (especially someone like yourself, who has an ear trained to hear the depths of music like this...!)
