My favorite level 1; strong stats, speed, plus they look great. It's a bummer there's no hero specialist for Centaurs but I guess it might make them borderline OP. The sprites only won because the CC moved into their striking distance. If the CC had waited for the sprites to close in first, I'm pretty certain they would have won.
@@HeroesKitchen I just tested it myself lol, and yes, the CC trounced the Sprites easily just by waiting for the Sprites to get in range. 5 stacks of CC remained by the end of the battle . This proved how powerful the no retaliation ability is, considering the Sprites won in your test. Interesting results.
@@bosspoke that's what I did; I made all my CC wait until the Sprites get within attack range. With only 2 DEF and 3 HP ratings, the latter died very quickly. I obviously don't need to point out that in real gameplay, tons of factors can decide the outcome of battles: strategies, spells, skills, artifacts, army composition, etc. These 10-week growth, AI-controlled deathmatch battles, while interesting, don't accurately portray real battles because they basically depend on raw creature numbers. Please note, I'm not saying that these videos are pointless. They're still useful and fun!
I tested it, and the centaurs still lose. Here is a quick rundown of how it went: 1. The Sprites are first (more speed) and they wait. 2. If I choose to wait, then it is still me. So then I can either move or defend. If I move even a little I gain nothing. So I choose to defend. 3. The AI of course doesn't care, so just moves forward with All sprites. Round 1 is Over 4. Round 2 starts - Sprites are first and hit hard, although the extra defense applies. Then I manually lead the centaurs, focusing down the pixies and minimizing losses. In the End the Pixies WIN with around half of their numbers remaining. It is just too much! So yeah, centaurs just outright lost this match.
Apologies! I hope the new Subscribe popups on the score screens don't bother you too much. I need to appeal to more people, who are watching. Thank you for being part of this journey with me 🙏
As I thought, sprites are just way too strong But otherwise the centaur captains has the speed, the power, the survivalbility and the suave. The only thing they don't have is any OP ability like no enemy retaliation or cheap recruitment x)
@@bosspoke sprites need a lot of protecting and micromanaging. Unlike centaurs which can be just left in the middle of the battlefield and they can deal with it. Otherwise I also like not having to take losses.
@HeroesKitchen I agree, centaurs are better for surviving into mid/late game and thus scale better. But sprites can do hit and run kiting tacticts that no other tier 1 can. It allows it to potentially take on huge stacks if they are slow enough/don't shoot. It's in the early game tier 1 units need to do their work as none of them scales into late game well except skeletons.
@@Jutrzen Ofcource I do. And I meant what I said. Though in hindsight, maybe no enemy retaliation is strong not OP compared to all abilities in game. OP abilities in the context of this game would be Archangel ressurection, vampire life drain or?
@@kostadinpantev I think it is close because centaurs are better into mid/late game while sprites are better early. Sprites are better early because they can kite enemies, allowing them to take huge stacks of slower melee units.
Simply the sheer number of sprites and the fact that they have no retaliation makes the sprite a power house and an impossible challenge for the centaurs to win even if they use the defend action.
They are still the best tier 1 unit. Sprites dies too fast against shooters and Centaurs are still fast enough to cross the battlefield in 2 turns.
@@blackwidow7804 Yes, i like them better too.

Probably yes, I haven't tried it yet - but even if they just defended in round 1, so they get some extra defense, it would be huge.

Oh yeah, the potential to win battle without losses is huge, especially when combined with Slow.

nonupgrade Centaur vs Pixies the same result :)
The result is much more definitive with the upgraded version thought.
lost vs sprites - pathetic. Considering their cost, centaurs are pretty useless.
