I enjoyed seeing all the journals! This is my first time to "find" you! I like to have my junk journals about the particular season I'm in, ephemera that I've collected, stuff and poems that I like. Like the scrapbooks were "back in the day!" I like to take an old cover, and tie the signatures in with a loop of elastic, so pages can be added, moved around, or taken out! I like the size of 4.25 X 5.5 pages, but sometimes I go smaller, just for fun! Thanks for sharing! Hugs!
Thank you. So much fun! Glad you showed up on my feed this morning. I’ve done color themes. Two of my favorites are light blue and white and mint green and pale pink. ❤
My favorite theme is "retro." More specifically mid-century, the retro drawings of children and families and fashion, etc. Thanks for the fun video! I agree, I like no-theme journals too :)
I just purchased your Ocean themed, Christmas, Pink and Black and SteamPunk Journals from your etsy shop. I'm going to give them as gifts for Christmas!!! I would have bought the botanical theme but some lucky person must have beat me to it. Thank you soo much. I love your Journals. I'll be back next year to buy more.
Thank you so much for your order! I'm packing it right now with love and care! You definitely got some of the favorite journals I've ever made. I hope you and the future recipients love them as much as I have. Once again, thank you! - Jennifer
The altered book of pockets is a favorite of mine. I made one from a large cookbook, then I created tags of my favorite recipes. It’s big and chunky with room to add more recipes, and bookmarks for section dividers.
I am terrified of binding too! The “ no theme” makes me breathe easily! I will start and pick papers I like! So thank you very much! New subscriber here!
Thanks for subscribing! The first step is the hardest but there is a world of discovery waiting for you. I'm so excited! Keep me posted on your journey :)
Those are all wonderful journals and ideas. It's fun to gather materials up and group them by theme but a lot work with any theme. i like a sewing theme for myself or a friend that has that interest, using old patterns and packaging among the pages and fabrics/laces. Put in a couple pictures of her with quilts she made and it's personal. Pockets to hold needle packets, etc. Garden themed ones are great too with veggies and flowers and make pockets to hold seed packets. Include pictures of their garden or favorite plants to personalize. Thank you and looking forward to more videos and catching up with your existing ones.
this was a fun video! My favorite themes are farm /country, florals, botanical, and Christmas so far. I am venturing into retro vintage for a domestic style journal of the 50's and 60's, and want to do a Woman's Journal, because I have so many beautiful pictures of women. Themes are fun, and I totally agree, that not having a theme is also a great idea.
Beautiful journals and some great ideas. Thanks for sharing! My favorite themes are Fall, Christmas, Bees & Coffee/Tea. I made a puppy themed journal for my youngest granddaughter.
@@junkjournalsbyjen Would you please consider filming a flip through of the Steampunk Journal, like you did for the Sunflower and the Pink and Black junk journals?
Wanted to let you know that someone purchased the steampunk journal before I could film the flip through. I'm so sorry. Were you wanting to get ideas or were you interested in the book for purchase? I'm asking because I gave my husband a steampunk/ dragon journal and maybe I could do a flip through of that for you?
Beautiful Journals Love them all. Would love to watch you make a journal or show how you make some of the amazing pockets you have in the journals. God Bless Hugs Darlene n Lulu (fur baby)
I absolutely love your journals. Your passion for what you do is awesome. Do you do anything on Tic Toc? I’m sure I speak for 1000’s that we’d love to see some of your work there as well! Keep up the good work
Hi Jen, I just stumbled upon your site this morning. I love the idea of a theme because it helps keep my mind focused (somewhat) rather than how it usually is - scatterbrained - which results in me not getting anything done!! I love anything nature related for my journals, but liked your idea of a Dr. Seuss theme - do you have any videos on that? I am not sure how I would do it - mix pages from different books or have one book as the main theme. . . Anyway, thanks for sharing your ideas, I especially loved the sunflower journal. :)
Welcome and thank you! I don't have a video or the Dr. Sues journal, I gave it as a gift. I did use a couple of different books, some fabrics, some pictures I printed.....it was a lot of fun!
@@junkjournalsbyjen Thanks - I want to do a journal around Peter Rabbit - and wasn't sure how much of him I should include and still call it a Peter Rabbit journal!!
Hmmm...the person I gave the Dr. Suess journal to loved turtles also so I combined the two things. I used the cover from Yertle the Turtle from Suess and then used some turtle papers i found and mixed and matched. She loved it! Do you have a recipient in mind?
Hi Jen, first time seeing your channel so I subscribed! My favorite themes are lifetime, or era -50s, 60s, 70s, 80s… etc, memory journals but I also really love the challenge of doing custom commissioned themes for people who want something unique. I’ll have my latest custom ordered journal up on my channel next week. Thanks for sharing all your journals!
@@junkjournalsbyjen oh Yes Snake them up a bit especially if it's something your getting into and they might not be familiar with. Make Today a Beautiful Day 💜
That is such a great question and a difficult one to answer as it depends on so many things.... if it's a writing journal or discovery journal.....how carried away I get in the creative process....how obsessed I am with the theme...... Anyway, usually 2 to 4 weeks.
