@@brando7266 By the time SJ starters came on, Republic was playing their bench. We had a 16 year old playing CB for all of ET, our star striker was out, and our best player went out hurt. Sac came back and won the game with *their* B team while SJ had put all the starters they could on the field
@@kevinbarnes218 That's pretty accurate but there are others among Sacramento in the USLC that make it hard to pick an outright best. For example, Charleston Battery, Louisville FC, the Tampa Bay Rowdies, San Antonio FC, Detroit City FC, and Phoenix Rising are all competitive contenders for best in the league along with Sacramento. Though when it comes to the Open Cup, Sacramento is easily the best of both conferences.
@@kevbarnes8459 hey honestly I'm not gonna blame you for it - I was super hyped when you all had a chance to take down Orlando City 'cause of how much us Rowdies fans absolutely despise them. (Besides, putting the Rowdies in that list could show I'm biased too, lol) I just thought it'd be good to show a USL perspective in an MLS world, you know?
It is less talented. Not trying to demean USL here, but Sac played on 10 days rest against an entirely-rotated team that had just played three days prior. Not to mention, it's the worst team in the MLS. The talent gap would be more apparent vs. most other MLS teams.
@@valornash8463 SJ also had a fully-rotated lineup for that one. Galaxy started a couple of their regulars but mostly went with backups. SKC was as bad as the Quakes that year, but at least they took that game more seriously. And IIRC, Sac got to host at least two of those games. Yes, Sac can beat the worst of rotated MLS teams at home and with more rest between games. That isn’t proof that USL as a whole is as talented as MLS.
@@jonjay7512 no, but it is proof that most guys starting for USL clubs could make MLS benches. The talent gap is from a few first team players, and then MLS falls *way* off because of salary cap rules, which USL doesn't have.
Sad for supporters section..getting smaller and quieter every year..they were big and loud back then….ten years later no MLS and will never happen unless relegation..
if only mls didnt want to kill this competition. What a great game and a showing of what local community soccer can be!
Both teams played great. We need more MLS vs USL games
Promotion/Relegation is needed!!!!!!
Congratulations to Sacramento!!!! What an amazing game & an AMAZING day for soccer!
Let’s go Sacramento! Way to come back! Another MLS club gone
U do know san jose was playing their b team right?
@@brando7266This decision makes no sense, as they have nothing to gain in MLS
@@lucianofilho1935 u r correct, they should be going all out, shows u bad they r run,

So… do they swap leagues now or what?
I wish. Stupid Ron Burkle.
one could only wish. San jose is the worst team in the western conference in mls. Sacramento is the best in the USLC.

Lopez is such a sweetheart, he held a 2 day clinic for kids in a hole in the wall county, bless his heart
USL is not a less talented league. They are just underfunded and under-marketed.
Plus with pretty small stadiums too.

You could say this about most games, but for this game when it was a huge sell out is wild lol
Those Quakes jerseys might be cursed
Haven't gotten a point with those things yet. Wore that in Portland when the referee/VAR changed the game entirely.
este partido fue tan emocionante, por fin sacramento lo hacer
Sacramento Republic fc. Equipo de mis amores!
Bien lo dice nuestro eslogan…. INDOMITABLE=INDOMABLE!
VAMOS REPUBLIC FC!!!
Admin, your highlight need to be 20min???
If they broadcast the tournament to bigger audience then it wouldn't have to be 20 minutes
Worst mls team vs best usl team
Cupset? Looks like the better team won.
SJ what sad team
