Wellington Phoenix would destroy us though. But it's exciting to see the A League get more teams in New Zealand, it'll really help the footballing scene here since it's all about rugby and cricket. The A League is the best football league in Oceania, so it will be fun to go to the Go Media Stadium and watch these big games, especially against Wellington Phoenix
As an Aucklander myself, this is very exciting! I think they've hired some great personnel - Terry McFlynn and Steve Corica know the A-League like the backs of their hands. However, if they want to be successful, they'll need to carefully study where the Kingz and Knights went wrong and where the Phoenix went right.
at 5:57 their (our fortress) advertising material, clearly displays inter Milan player Lautaro Martínez. They might want to check their marketing teams ball knowledge.
As an Aucklander and Phoenix fan who will be switching alliances just like every other Auckland football fan should be doing, I’m so excited for this as finally we have a team we can go watch without having to take a plane! Football has become the most played sport here and it won’t take long for this club to gain in popularity and become a serious contender for the A-League title as we’ve got some serious backing!
@@VitasIbizaMales New Zealanders haven't had much choice but to be Phoenix fans for years. Finally us upper North Islanders have an opportunity to support a club that doesn't require a 6-9 hour car ride or $300 plane journey. So yeah I will happily admit that I have been a Phoenix fan for a long long time but now we actually have a choice and I am going to support the team I can support in-person every home game.
Really got a good feeling about this. The Aotearoa Derby could be a massive thing in nz sport. Huge pockets. AKL Bling FC. I like it.
