Slow living was introduced to me by my great aunt, who is 99yo. She stayed with me for about a week, her daughter caught a bad cough that she didn't want to give to her mom. Her routine, as she described, was about the same as it was when she lived in Milos, Greece. She woke up, took a shower while her tea heated up, tended her flowers, drank tea, read in the garden, have a simple breakfast, and did handicrafts like crochet or took out her oil paints to do plain air painting.
I learned a lot from her. Not just art but how to slow down and take in the immediate world around me, instead of browsing online looking at other people's fast paced lives. I really loved her self care rituals, even though she was unaware of the term. She'd take her time every night to brush her hair, massage oil into her face and body, and drink one last cup of tea before sleeping. I'm pretty sure her longevity is thanks to her slow lifestyle and habits. I've started emulating a lot of them lately.

I so appreciated this video! I love the way you explained the "feeling of missing out." Social media tries to dictate what we should be doing or what "normal" looks like. I feel better when I'm NOT on it. I have fallen in love with my little town in Ohio. It was settled in 1788 and is filled with rich history. Victorian houses line the streets and the countryside is just so beautiful here! I love how you and your husband will get a little fancy coffee; I love doing that. I cook mostly at home as well because I like to know what's going into my food. I love how you enjoy each season and not rush each one. I like to take each one in and enjoy my surroundings.

I live at the edge of Toronto, Ontario, Canada...I have to travel to different areas to find peace and solitude...I have found that cooking for one's self is rewarding...I love candles and would love to know how to purchase some of yours, do you have a brochure...the one thing that I can not get a handle on is yoga...any pointers

Thanks so much for this video, I needed to see it! I am also from Poland and live with my family in a village in southern Germany. I have complained a lot about this place since we moved in here. Your words help me switch perspective. That's true that we cook a lot more here which is so nice. We take long walks in the fields and get excited about every tiny thing, because in the city you had so much stimuli and here you need to use your imagination to make a little adventure out of every walk. It's very quiet here which was hard for me - but now I see it allows me to dive deeper into myself, meditate, read books, connect with myself. We have some beautiful locations all around us and started creating our little "favourite places map". Thank you!!!
This made me feel so calm. I live in Aberdeen in the north east of Scotland. I currently live in the city but we are only 10-20 minutes from the beach and lovely walks. We have a lot of castles and distilleries around us so we are fortunate to enjoy some pretty scenery.

Loved this video❤️ Retired to the wilds of Essex, and loving every minute! We live in a small village near the windswept marshes of Essex. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, and history at every turn. A real community, where we have good neighbours and new friends.
Slow living is never boring, and the landscape and countryside around us is a new adventure every day!

That’s the Cotswolds isn’t it. I live in Central London but your area makes me just marvel at the beauty of the English countryside. You are the epitome of the Eckhart Tolle approach to just living life in the presence, enjoying and being present in every moment and letting things that are meant for us come to us without always chasing / what is it he said ‘life is the dancer, you are the dance’ - took me a while to get it but now I do. And once you realise that all we need to do is to just be, all falls into place - in my case much more so now than when I was in my full on chase mode… keep making these lovely videos. A joy to watch!

What I love about my town is all the charity shops, the local cinema that wasn’t built too long ago and the fields/ parks you can take lovely long walks in. Btw your husband’s smile is contagious 😊

I watched your lovely video while taking an extra slow morning by myself this morning and it was so perfect. I watched a pair of bald eagles alighting on a lake with knitting in my hands, and a cup of iced coffee and a Jane Austen book nearby. It wad the most idyllic and spoke to my heartsong of peace, contentment, and presence in the moment and beautiful scenery around me. Thank you for reminding me that there is beauty in my neighborhood too. I dream of visiting England, but my city is built around a beautiful lake and I am blocks away from a large botanical garden. I do enjoy my walks, but I should make a point to really look and see when I do go for a walk.

Coming back here after watching your new year's video 3 months ago. (Dont know if you could recall my comment on that new year's vid of yours 😌❤) Its past first quarter now of the year, and as for me this feels like the 'new year' phase you describe on that January video. Finally a phase of reflection andd taking it abit slow after the first quarter being super fast paced roller coaster hectic.

I love your videos so much that are full of calmness and art and watch them religiously. But I have to comment with love that this time the video ran so fast that I didn't even have time to read the subtitles... and this conflicts a bit with the idea of slow living 😊❤ please edit them a bit slower😅

I’m lucky to live by the sea in Kent and where Wickham nearly eloped with Georgiana. Jane Austen’s brother eloped here to marry a Mary Gibson at our main church st Laurence church. But I don’t think it’s listed anywhere in the church. But to get to the point I love walking by the Royal harbour and spending cosy days at home doing housework (as much as I can before my back pain comes back) and reading or watching my favourite telly.

😍 Oh, Adriana, what a beautiful, wonderful, meaningful video!! 😃👍 I subscribe those principles absolutely! 😊Although I certainly need to remind myself of some of them from time to time, especially Internet fomo! 😅 I am from the North of Spain, and live in a valley between the mountains and the coast. The landscape and weather is quite similar to the UK, and we have our share of historical buildings too. It amazes me how often people take these things for granted, when we just have to pay attention and take notice of the lovely things around! It's been years since I discovered that I felt so much happier when supporting the local businesses and production! I've never been a trend follower, but now I've become even more conscious about the simple things that appeal to my heart, and about sustainability. Oh, and homemade food (yours look yummy!) 😋 is a must!
