She doesn't owe you anything - it's not like you paid anything for all of her hard work so far. There are plenty of other free vids on YT about sewing A-line skirts or if you're really that desperate, try reading a book about it & figure it out for yourself..
I have a short torso and long legs so I prefer pants and skirts to be mid rise instead of around my natural waist. That way my tops and bottoms are more in proportion with each other. Thank you for including measurements for hip so that I can make that the top of my skirt.
Hi. Love this video. Can you post a video showing how to put this together. Also, can you post a video that shows how to use darts. Thank you. Looking forward to seeing much more from you.
awesome video, but it'd be even better if you did a tutorial on using the patterns to make the garment! (I'd love to see how exactly to use the notches you made, how to go about the seam allowance for the zip, etc.) thanks!
onemacdirection At the moment we are catering to people who are proficient in sewing, however we do plan to make a garment tutorial for each pattern tutorial we have in the near future.
I feel you could have much more followers if you showed the process of sewing it... because ALine skirt is more for beginners than for people who know how to sew..also the music is too loud at times and it's difficult to concentrate like that
Thank you so much! Remember when you asked us to comment with any suggestions? Well, could you please make a video showing us how to make a pattern for tight fitted pants?
Hi, my pattern doesn't look quite the same as yours, when i draw my lines from point w2h to w2lh it makes almost a straight line therefore when i add that small angle and draw the line to the full length, it looks bizarre. | | \
excellent teaching. just 2 questions. why add the 3.5 cm and with respect to the straight skirt and additional 1.2 cm seam allowance. at first I thought the 3.5 was the seam allowance.
It's "give allowance". Basically for when you sit down. When you make pants and skirts that are not loose, you need to allow give in the hip area for sitting and bending over. ^_^
Wait, maybe I'm misunderstanding, but: If you measure from the waist down, then add a separate piece for the waistband, wouldn't that make it too tall? The waistband and top of the main skirt are taking up the same space on a person's body. I think??
Cool :D Thank you for getting back to me :D. Couple more questions- do you have a tutorial video that shows you how to make/ sew the A line skirt garment yet? And are you going to upload a tutorial that shows you how to do a basic trouser pattern/ garment soon? :)
Liv Kennett We don't have an A-line Skirt sewing tutorial as of yet. We are currently making a sewing tutorial for that. Expect to see that tutorial by the end of January(if nothing gets in the way lol). As for the pants tutorial, we will have a pattern/block making tutorial by mid-late February, and subsequent pants manipulation sewing tutorials afterwards (shorts, trousers, leggings etc).
hmmm... does this pattern not include a seam allowance?? where can I find the video on how to sew this...no idea how to sew on waistband, zipper. Thanks in advance
Heya BD :) Just wanted to ask- if I wanted to make a mini skirt that started from the hips rather than the waist, would I just need to live out the waist measurements or are there any major differences or adjustments I would need to make??
Liv Kennett Yup, you are correct. All you have to do is leave out the waist measurements. Let us know how it goes, upload a pic to instagram, facebook or twitter and just use the hashtag #bddiy
If you've sewn with commercial patterns, you've seen notches on each pattern piece. They are aligned with the pattern piece that will be joined to it. The cuts are used the same way. It ensures that the pieces are joined at exactly the right place. Transfer the cut marks to the fabric and make very small snips to be sure that you don't cut into the seam line.
no need to make a full pattern for the front or back..doing half of front and half of back will save you on paper. but if it is still not enough, paste another piece of paper to get the desired width
I use masking paper from the hardware store. It's super cheap and easy to work with. I've heard others use Butcher block paper and/or old bed sheets as
I stopped the video @ 59 seconds because I hated the blarring music...but after seeing all of the nice reviews, I started it up again...but ended up stopping it again...just can't deal with the music...
Hello, every one ((: just sharing-- i made a skirt using this pattern and its ok but not 100% ok.. i had to adjust especially on the hips beacause theres a big difference between my waist and hips.. when i followed the pattern completely (no adjustments) it ended up ill fitting.. so i had to adjust
Hello, can you slow down a little in your videos, also can you please sew the A-line skirt, I am a bit confused about the extra angle you added to the hip.
thanks - but would be very helpful to have a photo at the start to see if it is what a person is looking for! A line means different things to different people. thanks
Everything seems to be ok on our side. There shouldnt be any reason for the videos not to be available. Is anyone else experiencing difficulties with our channel?
lol ...all you showed is how to cut a piece of paper to a shape that looks like a very bad A-line skirt...This is not how "to make A-line skirt pattern from scratch". You are confusing beginners badly...In order to draft A-line skirt you have to start with a basic straight pencil skirt and modify it by slashing a pattern vertically to a dart's points and then by closing darts and spreading the pattern pieces.
Thank you sooooo much for this! You made the entire process super simple! I can make the patter and sew an A line skirt like a pro now!
Thank you. It's the best tutorial so far on this topic.
Thank you, I have been looking for a video to show new comers! This is perfect!
this is so great! thankyou so much :) id love to see a finished product if you ended up making the skirt
You make this video so easy to understand. I loved it.
This has helped me SO much! Thank you! You now have a faithful subscriber😊!
Hi, thanks so much for this tutorial, just made an a-line skirt pattern for a 20" doll with ur help😊
Tx a lot, I searched for this step... a long time, but now, VOILA!
Thank you so much!!! I have now made my first pattern ever!! 👍👍
Please upload a video showing how to sew this pattern together! It would be a huge help!
Coming soon!

Um you posted that 11 months ago and i still dont see the video???

Yes please show us how to sew a skirt using this pattern

This is a very important lesson 👏. Thanks a lot.
Ok. What about sewing. The tutorial was great. Without sewing, the project is not over.
Please give the sewing tutorial. It's 8 yrs now
it's a "pattern" tutorial so it is a tutorial for how to make the pattern, not how to sew
Cool I like the way your measurement work!
Are you marking them on the paper with the cm side of the tape or the inches side ??
Wow amazing tutorials but where are you
You're an excellent teacher.
Can you explain the process behind dividing by 4 then adding more, I'm new to sewing and don't understand why you do this x thank you
Excellent tutorial!

Please tell us about hipbone hipmeasurement. We confuse for waist and hip measurement
Your videos are so useful. Thanks for making them.
Need to know how to use patterns draft on material
Thank you
Thank you, I appreciate you sharing your talent!
I really benefited from your tutorial. Many thanks for sharing!
You've got a new subscriber today im looking forward your other videos i love doing diy too
Thank you! Can you show how to make shorts?
Hi, when you measure across for hip width in the front pattern why do you not go in straight line? You are going at an angle, please help.
Hi D thank you for teaching it's excellent
Thank you for the pattern instruction.
Love your videos but the background music is very distracting .
Thank you so much! Remember when you asked us to comment with any suggestions? Well, could you please make a video showing us how to make a pattern for tight fitted pants?
The hemline should be curved, otherwise the side seam is longer than centre front.
Great and easy tutorial, just to be sure, seam allowence isn't included?

I'm the same. I think it depends on the body type. BD is curvy that's why her's looks so great

Awesome, thanks!
Does this pattern include seam allowance ?
will u show show to make a box pleat maxi skirt with pockets?

Is the extra 3.5cm to account for ease?
hi your video is so usefull but I hope you will teach us also how to apply it on the fabric and how to sew it. pleeeaassee
what does the 3.5 cm do? is it for the seam allowance?
Citta Prabowo for the ease so that it won't be too tight.
Yes
Hi! I have a question: aren't there any darts on the pattern?
There are none. She's avoiding it by just putting the space difference in the side seam. This is the cheap and easy way to make skirts...
Hi mam thank you for sharing a nice video for beginners...

Hi, I noticed you didn't place darts on the skirt. Any particular reason why not?
AmbitionsNatural The pattern in this tutorial is just a basic A-line skirt pattern. It forms the basis of more complex and beautiful patterns.
Black Diamond .DIY Fashion would you be able to show how to place the dart on the skirt please? Thanks
what if i wanted to add a pleated?
hmmm... does this pattern not include a seam allowance?? where can I find the video on how to sew this...no idea how to sew on waistband, zipper. Thanks in advance
great video, been looking for this for so long! thank you.I just wonder if there is seam allowance included in the pattern?
None of the patterns made on this channel have seam allowance included on the patterns.

I love your shirt :)
thank you for your video it's very clear to understand
Would be so much better without the music and slightly slower
What's the purpouse of the little cuts you made around the pattern?
If you've sewn with commercial patterns, you've seen notches on each pattern piece. They are aligned with the pattern piece that will be joined to it. The cuts are used the same way. It ensures that the pieces are joined at exactly the right place. Transfer the cut marks to the fabric and make very small snips to be sure that you don't cut into the seam line.

The way you explain is nice and easy to understand, but I struggled to take any information in when the music was playing :-(
me here in ph just doing things when im bored
Materials:
long paper= Manila paper{used}
measuring tape
scissors
pencil
No fabric XD
how do I work out the paper width for larger size please
no need to make a full pattern for the front or back..doing half of front and half of back will save you on paper. but if it is still not enough, paste another piece of paper to get the desired width
Why did you measure 50 cm at the bottom? Where did you get that measurement from?
CandiRayne16 This is not a body measurement. This was done just so that there is no chance you will run out of paper when making the pattern.
no darts?
where can i find the pattern paper you used
I use masking paper from the hardware store. It's super cheap and easy to work with. I've heard others use Butcher block paper and/or old bed sheets as
what paper did you use for this? x
Hi +Poppy Esser I use brown wrapping paper from my local office supply store.
Great video. I just wish I didn’t have to listen to that music.
Please, guide me 7 yrs baby girl measurement of A line girl skirt
😕😕 aww aww thanks again for this video..but I forget to put darts on my A line long skirt..still hope the shape are gonna come out
She didn't put any darts in hers. She just did the difference in the side seam.
I stopped the video @ 59 seconds because I hated the blarring music...but after seeing all of the nice reviews, I started it up again...but ended up stopping it again...just can't deal with the music...

It's great but can you please slow down a little I was so confused while you were plotting the measurements
Hello, can you slow down a little in your videos, also can you please sew the A-line skirt, I am a bit confused about the extra angle you added to the hip.
thanks - but would be very helpful to have a photo at the start to see if it is what a person is looking for! A line means different things to different people. thanks
Your accent sounds familiar lol, are you from ausltralia?
Hi +Inga d 😊 yup yup I am Australian!
My god, I'm Australian (with this exact type of Aussie Accent) and I didn't even pick it. You must have a good ear!)
Too complicated and fast for me :-(
Where is the curve around the waist and hem? People have curves!
I need inches so I don't understand this pattern. but good video.
Hi u can use these instructions you would have to use the back or centimeter side of measuring tape and ruler to follow her.
or you can find a conversion chart on line.
Would be neat non music video
Non folded side that has a folded edge? Ma k the folds so you know which fold she's talking really fast about
Mark the folds
I can't see your video's.............What is wrong??
Everything seems to be ok on our side. There shouldnt be any reason for the videos not to be available. Is anyone else experiencing difficulties with our channel?
It is tough to understand as ur speed is much
could not watch, music is terrible!
Does the music matter?
Could barely stand to watch it, the music is so obnoxious.
great, but please no music
Your music is loud and annoying
lol ...all you showed is how to cut a piece of paper to a shape that looks like a very bad A-line skirt...This is not how "to make A-line skirt pattern from scratch". Why I subscribe ur channel if u show properly and speed is too much
Too much math. I just want to look pretty... :(
Please don't use music
Loved the video, hated the music.
Please , switch music off.
Sorry, background music is way too annoying to finish watching.
Great pattern and tutorial but the music is distracting and unnecessary
Couldn't watch the whole video - horrible noisy music! Why?
nice, but you move too fast....when someone is learning,,,the talking and the video should be a bit slower,,,thanks
+junie richardson She is a bit fast, but one thing I love about video tutorials is the ability to pause and rewind.
Please slow talk -,u r too fast, and video runs very fast too. Difficult to follow as a beginner
cut off the music please!!!!!!
Does this pattern include seam allowance?
