I love seeing booktubers plugging their local public libraries! As a young adult that volunteers and is the youngest trustee on the board for my local library, it warms my heart seeing other young adults/teens share their love for public libraries. Young Adults/Teens are usually the lowest demographic that takes advantage of public library services and they are in need of them as active patrons to encourage continued funding from federal to city entities, especially in rural/less populated areas. A popular misconception is that libraries are just books, but they also offer many digital services (such as ebooks, audiobooks, etc.) as well as provide public computers and free WiFi at their locations. I encourage all to stop by their local libraries to learn about the different services and programs they have to offer. And if you have ideas for what you wish the library offered to better suit your interests, they are always interested in learning on how they can improve. Libraries are there to serve their communities and help them grow.
Anyone else binge watching zoe's videos rn??? Loving how hype you've got me to join the booktube community zoe!! Everyone's been so welcoming so far ☺️🎉
I love my library, so library hauls are great in my opinion! I don't actually buy books unless I read them and love them enough to want to reread them someday, so my library is so helpful!
BooksWithMili It is an excellent way to save money. If I did not enjoy a book I would have paid nothing for it and that money could be used for a book I did enjoy.
Yeees for more library book hauls! Also, I’m SO glad you’re back on UA-cam. I also hope you’re fine and that you’re having an amazing time with Hannah and Hailey!
Try curly girl method . I have curly hair too and following CGM and modifying it to my lifestyle has made all the difference for me. As far as products, Shea Moisture is a great brand for curls.
I lived in the Orlando area of FL for three months in 2013 and one of the first things I did was get a library card. One of my favorite things (and one of the things I miss the most since moving back to NJ) is home delivery of library items. I think it’s super helpful if your really busy. Also 8 items is what I should borrow and could probably read but instead I borrow 50 (the borrow limit) items and only read half of them. Something I need to work on.
If you like books that take place between two time periods and there’s two characters telling their side of the story, I recommend reading “Evergreen Falls” by Kimberley Freeman. It’s about this woman who works at the coffee shop at the hotel and she happens to find letters from this worker who used to work there in the 1920s, well the book goes back and forth to both eras and it becomes a “who done it mystery and romance” so it will keep you at the edge your seat.
I just finished One Day In December (in late January) and I think you could totally still read it outside of the holiday season! Its more just a general romance that truly doesn't have too much to do with Christmas or the Holidays.
My new years resolution was getting a library subscription. I really want to expand my reading tase this year. 2018 was the year in which I discovered that I'm getting too old for YA. I read too much of it and I'm just getting a bit tired of the genre and seeing the same tropes and storylines over and over again (not that there aren't great YA books out there, because there definitely are). Being able to pick out books that are out of my comfort zone without having to pay for them is A+. I'm having so much more fun reading my library picks and discovering my love for so many different genres that I never read, it's insane. Good to see some library rep on youtube. :)
I love all sorts of book hauls whether they be bought, given as gifts or borrowed from the library! I use my library a lot which saves money, plus I love browsing my library to see what's available and encourages me to read books before their due date. It's rare that I don't get more than I planned to when going to the library because I don't have much self-control in that area. I love the new covers they did for Artemis Fowl which I've only read the first book of when it came out and somehow forgot to read the rest but hope to read all of them soon. I've been really attracted to picking up Pride and Prejudice retellings in the last couple of years. May one of these days I might actually read them lol. My favorite book out of your haul is The Guernsey and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows which I listened to on audiobook last year and I highly recommend that route because the narratives are amazing. Also I loved the storyline, the main character and all of the characters of Guernsey (I'd love to be a part of the book club!) and saw the Netflix movie shortly afterwards which I also loved. Enter me!
I love that you’re talking about the library! I buy a lot of books but I end up impulse grabbing library books and reading them instead.🤷🏼♀️ Libraries are my happy place 💖
Wow, you have access to an amazing library! My library never gets newer releases, especially not YA. I usually have to buy them or order them from another library. You are so lucky!
Nevermoor and Wundersmith are both absolutely phenomenal and you should read them as soon as you can! I think it only took me about two days to read each of them because they're so charming you can't pt them down! They were both my favourite books that I read in their respective publishing years
I keep putting off getting the rest of the books from house moving castle series. Absolutely love the movie! Amanda’s Lovelace poems were enjoyable, I preferred the first one over the second. One of my favorite poets is Pablo Nerudo
i absolutely love the origonal book for howls moving castle but it is very different from the ghibli film- but i love them both so much!!!! a lot of the themes are the same, similar vibes but both good in their own way- and there are two sequels!
You are so good at talking about the books. I had to bring up goodreads on another tab because your synopses were making me so hyped I had to mark like half the books as want to read!
I did the same thing with TJR's books - I have Forever, Interrupted and Maybe In Another Life left, just waiting on hold for the e-books! Btw, I think you will LOVE One True Loves! It's such an interesting concept and I couldn't stop thinking about it afterwards but I think all of TJR's books do that. She's amazing
This is awesome! I love going to my local library and I check out way too many books then I can read, but oh well. I think you should start with In Absent Dream. I love that novella series. I also can not wait to enter the Artemis Fowl Series giveaway. It has been years since I read them!
Library is good but don't like the time constraint - rather own my books. Then I share with my grandkids. Love your reviews and the ones with your dad.
Hi Zoe :') So I would recommend you to read an absolutely remarkable thing first. I haven't read it yet, but it's in my wishlist. The reason for this suggestion is that I just absolutely love the writings of the green brothers, the way they express feelings and emotions really moves me , so I let it slide by even if the story isn't that great. Tbh, that's the reason I read fiction books in the first place, just to get to the depth of emotions and if that's what you do too then don't put this book aside for too long, I'm sure it wouldn't disappoint!
I didn't know Hank Green's book was part of a series! And Amanda Lovelace has another poerty book in that series coming out March 5th. Thank you for the haul!
I've only read one Sanderson book (Warbreaker) and O...M...G! I loved it so much more than I had hoped! Plus, I had the audio book which made it that much better! Going from that one book, they are long and dense but very much worth the read! I went looking for the first book in the Mistborn series but ended up finding Warbreaker at my local used book store and picked it up. Took some time for me to pick it up because, well, I was scared of it...lol...But one day, I gave in and couldn't stop! It took some time to read it and would read another book along side it but...sigh....just the nostalgia of it all has me happy sighing! lol
If you want a book with two different time periods, "orphan train" by Christina baker Kline is excellent. I highly suggest having tissues at the ready!
You sound like me whenever I go to the library. I currently have like 16 books out right now and some have been renewed too many times so now I have to speed read them since I’m pretty far into half of them!
I do the exact same thing, I borrow ~20 books even though I have a tone of my own unread books 😂 I would start the Artemis series or "Afterlife" in your place, cause they sound reeeaally nice ^^ I read the Grisha trilogy first too, also wanted to read all of it before SoC 😊
You should read Ellen Hopkins if you haven’t already. Most of her work is written from multiple perspectives and is written in prose so it’s extremely interesting. Also, All Our Yesterday’s by Cristin Terrel. Multiple perspectives and times. One of my favs!
Great haul! I am loving your longer hair. You have such beautiful curls! Funny you mentioned murder mystery dinners. I am doing one for Valentine's Day. If you love stories told from multiple points of view and timelines, you should try Kate Morton. She's one of my favorite authors. Happy reading! 💗📖📚
READ SHADOW AND BONE SERIES! I wanted to do the same and just read six of crows but decided to get Shadow and Bone from library and soooooooo glad I did I personally loved it and read the other two back to back the grisha trilogy is amazing in my opinion and now I need to read six of crows now lol
It's so hard to choose which book to read first and I'm choosing for you, it would take me days to chooses for me! But I choose Radio Silence, that seems like a good start.
Omg I'm so hype for Artimis Fowl! It's the very first series I remember reading growing up, the new covers are amazing! I try use my library more often ya know, gotta support it, some of my coworkers didn't even know we still had one! 😳 I think you should read Jane Stelle first! I am interred in what you think of it! Oh, and enter me 😍
Saw the notification for your video Zoe and instantly clicked to watch it 💕 when life got a bit too hectic last summer I saw your readathon vlogs (reading for 24 hours straight) and I fell in love with them 🙈💕 The book that I would recommend you to read you first would probably be ,,The poet” because I read it last summer and it was so interesting 👌🏻👏🏻 It really made me more interested in poetry and I think this is really the book for people who would like to read more poetry books an fall in love with them 💕
I have 27 books borrowed from the library at the moment!!! I don't think I'm going to be getting time to read them all before they are due back - but I can always borrow them again!!! And I still buy books too - mainly the ones I know I will want to keep and read again; and also the ones that I get signed by authors - for instance V E Schwab who will be coming to Australia in April, and am determined to get every single one of her books signed; even the ones don't have yet!!
Zoe, I am so looking forward to hearing more about your reading journey! Also, thanks to you I renewed my library card and have loved reading for free 99, jajaj
If you like the concept of next time in havannah with the the story being told in past and present, then I would recommend seven sisters from lucinda riley or the last letter from your lover from jojo moyes
I am so happy you are back! I believe it is awesome that you made a book haul including library books. I feel the same as you for The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. I read it in e-book format and read like 40% of the book in one night and once I finished I saved other works of Taylor Jenkins Reid on my Scribd. I'm also using it for an assignment for uni 😂🧡
Part of me really wants to suggest you read a library book first since they have due dates, but you have Howl's Moving Castle on the list and I LOVE that book. I am a huge anime fan, and love the film, and I honestly can't say the book is better than the movie, but it's one of the few times where they are nothing alike and both EQUALLY as good. (If you want to read a library book first, I would go with Skyward...but that's just cause I want to read it soon)
It's so good to have you back Zoë! Since you've already read Radio Silence and Sadie, which are definitely books I'm going to have to get after school today, I'm going to place my vote to Pride. It sounds incredible! (library hauls are the actual best) (enter me, please!) Happy reading!!💙📚
Enter me!! Also, I feel like you should read An Absolutely Remarkable Thing by Hank Green first! I love John Green’s books and Hank Green is his brother. I really would enjoy hearing a review of it and your thoughts on it.
I love library hauls. I do them on my channel. I have a $20 fine at the library. You should definitely finish reading the rest of the The Diviners series. So good
So many great books! Enter me, please! I just read the 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle from my library and really enjoyed it! I hope you get around to reading it soon. Also, so glad you're reading the Shadow and Bone series. I feel like so many people skip those ones and they're really missing out.
Reading Artemis Fowl as a kid was the first time I ever encountered a book that other people loved but I didn't like. Even though I hadn't liked the first book I still tried reading the second because my friend loved them so much and that book became the first book that I intentionally DNF'd ... not that we used the term DNF back in those days
I am so happy you are doing a library haul! I am in college now studying to become a librarian and I just love reading. I HIGHLY recommend The Poet X I really enjoyed it!!! I am the same way that you are about poetry but I just LOVED this book...Also please enter me!! Love you lots
I’m very excited for you to read Americanah! It’s my favourite book I’ve ever read and I can’t wait to hear what you think of it. (Also your hair looks SO good in this video!)
Enter me! I think you should finish the Grisha Trilogy first.. but I'm bias because it's my favourite series of all time. I'm glad to hear you're enjoying it! Also I would read Skyward because it sounds awesome!
You're awesome! I discovered you since your readathon's videos on Stephen king's It, and now I just can't stop watching! I really love the way you present things. I enjoy Booktube in general, but your channel is the best of all. As for books, I guess my next saga is going to be Artemis Fowl.
Okay but did Gilderoy Lockhart REALLY direct the movie or did he just take credit for someone else’s work??🤔🤔🤔
There's actually a couple of movies he "directed" so maybe he shifted from writing to directing in that sense ;)
Omg I thought the same thing
I GET SO EXCITED WHEN I SEE THAT ZOE HAS UPLOADED AAAHHH
you were the first booktuber i ever watched 😭💙
Saaaame. She's the best
She also was the first booktuber I ever watched😊
Me too
Me toooooooooooo

Hannah Louise totally agree girl! Great name btw😁

Yeees for more library book hauls! Also, I’m SO glad you’re back on UA-cam. I also hope you’re fine and that you’re having an amazing time with Hannah and Hailey!
Totally agree on the library book hauls.

I was just about to compliment Zoe's hair as well 😂 and exactly. CGM. Try it if you haven't!
Putting off reading Queen of Air and Darkness is a good idea! Because I was a sobbing mess when I started it 😂😂
Radio Silence is such a masterpiece, it's soo underrated though
Oh! Pride is so good, I can't wait to see what you think of it. It might be my favorite retelling of P&P.
I love the Netflix chilling adventures of Sabrina. The atmosphere and vibes is just great and the opening credits is the best thing about it

Hi Zoe :')
So I would recommend you to read an absolutely remarkable thing first. I haven't read it yet, but it's in my wishlist. The reason for this suggestion is that I just absolutely love the writings of the green brothers, the way they express feelings and emotions really moves me , so I let it slide by even if the story isn't that great. The 7 1/2 deaths of Evelyn hardcastle sounds amazing read that...I need to look for that at my library.
I didn't know Hank Green's book was part of a series! And Amanda Lovelace has another poerty book in that series coming out March 5th. Thank you for the haul!
Queen of air and darkness is my favorite book! I was so immersed in the story! ❤

Artemis Fowl Ambassador!! Amazing - I love these new covers
a book i loved with 2 characters in 2 time periods was Along the Infinite Sea by Beatriz Williams.
Part of me really wants to suggest you read a library book first since they have due dates, but you have Howl's Moving Castle on the list and I LOVE that book.

I've never read the Artemis Fowl series (I know I should), but I like these covers!
