We give guards Friday and Saturdays off, and they`re not micromanaged with eight-hour shifts, they quit and sleep regardless. You don`t want to own a security business. You`re always working.
You`re correct. Your time and health are more important than money. Time can never be given back. I saw a video of a guy working so hard he had a stroke and died in his 30s. We are here for a short time, and I would rather enjoy life than work more than you need to.

I was a forklift driver before and got tired of it, now I'm loving the hustle of doing armed security. My fellow guards be telling me they appreciate the professionalism I have and helping them out when 💩hits the fan. As someone who has "done it all" in private security, from unarmed, to armed, contract, to in-house, etc., I leave you all these tips: 1. OBSERVE AND REPORT. 2. You're not paid enough to do that. 3. Security is a thankless job.
Good to see you. Im only 30 but I had a similar thought I was working close to 50 hours a week. My sons were growing up and my wife missed me all the time. Id rather be there creating memories and making my kids laugh than a extra couple hundred bucks
Man I certainly appreciate that I had a lot of folks worried that something had happened to me I follow a bunch of other people too on UA-cam and sometimes when they go missing for a while I start to think the worst

First tip keep watching my videos second tip they need you ..you don't need them ...knowing that get a better job ..lots of money to be made in that industry

I'm with a new company at the same site, it's significantly less benefits but my daily load is so much less. I'm just kinda in suspension. I'm also on the same journey you are. I'm trying to find a way to make just enough funds to stay afloat and have some more free time. We are only here for a blink, we need to enjoy it.
I absolutely agree my last job the downtime kills you more it's a no win situation at the end of the day you come to the realization that less money and more time is the better alternative

I don't blame you man working 12 hours it will burn you regardless the pay. To the point that you're having dreams about your job site that tells you that you have to move on.😂😂😂 I used to work 12 hours 5 days in 2 weeks 120 hours the pay was great but I was getting burned out by it. In the security industry

I think if you own any kind of business you're always working it's not physically mentally but I'd rather be working for myself any day

That's always in the back of my head and for this reason I made my decision to scale down working and more time with family

Working as a correctional officer isn't bad. It's just a thankless and stressful job that will honestly eat away at you.
