As someone who loved Swordburst 2 back when I first played it due to being a dumb little child, and having a lot of nostalgia bias towards it, I am REALLY disappointed in the 3rd one. The only thing that feels better about it is the combat, which still is janky as Hell and not thought out well at all. The upgrade system alone sucks ass, like the worst fusion of SB2 and World Zero systems, since you have to both mine and farm coins just to fail an upgrade again AND ROLL BACK THE PROGRESS, while in the 2nd one, you have scrolls that can act as failsafes if you are going for an rare/expensive weapon to upgrade, plus you can just straight up use common gear that you max out with very cheap common crystals, giving a better experience when it comes to going through floors alone WITHOUT too much grind for the absurd droprates that the game has (which is not a good thing, but it's not as horrendous when you can actually play the game with common gear). The armors and weapons look less interesting than the №2, which is an insanely low bar to clear, the floor 1 alone in Swordburst 2 looks more inspired and gave you a feeling of "I wonder what is in that direction" which Swordburst 3 does not have in any of the floors. Even the floor design itself is level-locked to Hell, while in SB2 you can at least run to the end right off the bat and get your ass kicked, so you you will realise that you need better gear to grind for. Even the grind is a lot more pleasant, since you can set your character on autoclicker with good gear and leave them overnight, instead of mindlessly having to spam skills from one mob to another and repeat the same quests. Both systems are shit, but Swordburst 3 is the bigger shit than it's predecessor.
I think the worst part of sb3 to me was the level lock and the fact that it didn't capture the feel of danger like sb2 did Like I would always speed run the floor in sb2 then get my ass kicked dozens of times and have to restart.

The dungeon you would have to enter to get to the floor boss was usually packed wih enemies that would gank you, and you would have to either outrun them with what stamina you had or take them head on with someone else, and by the way, even stamina is better designed in SB2, with items that increase it's regen and skills that eat through it!! Genuinely, what the fuck?!
Played this game after release and joined a clan [sakura shrine] in the trading place iirc. (Im too bothered to even remember what the trading place is called) I stopped playing after floor 4 released since i was having 38 fps on average (BTW IM USING RTX 4060) and the game feels p2w and too grindy. I was lvl 68 💀 This game is ASS based on my own experience.
Swordburst 2 was fun. I had nice memories roleplaying with friends in that game.
Swordburst 3 on the other hand...kinda mid tbh.

Like I bought alpha and played till beta an quickly realized they did not care about the swordburst 2 people.
