It was SO chilly in Michigan last night! Having a big, beautiful, fluffy bed is wonderful. Fresh clean linens make for the most restful sleep! It's time to replace our tempurpedic so I appreciate your mattress suggestion, thank you. Loving the layering you did here and yes, laying the flat sheet "inside out" is correct!

My mom taught us that little trick, too, but from doing a lot of sewing, she would say “right side down” - even if you don’t have a ruffle, it’s nice to see the finished edge turned up

How timely! I have been getting more linens of late, we have a dog that loves to hide his toys in the covers and he will accidentally tear sheets (he’s super adorable so he gets a pass), and I’ve been wondering what I’m doing wrong with my bed - besides our dog. I just found a high quality linen sheet set at an antique store that have a gorgeous crocheted ruffle on them. They were in perfect condition. I only paid $22 for the set and I know a new set would be at least 4xs the price. I just love the way they feel and how they look! I hope you find a new set for your bed ☺️

what do you do with all of the pillows when you go to bed at night?
My mom taught me how to make my bed the same way, with the flat sheet upside down. Interestingly, she was a stay at home mom, but was sooo talented as an artist. She had an eye for design and details.

That's how I was taught as well, to put the top sheet facing down. That way when you turn back the covers and sheets, you see the pattern as it was meant, not the underside.
I was taught the same way, however the way my grandma phrased it is so sweet. She told me that when you slip between your sheets at night you want to make sure that the pretty side is always facing you :)
What do you put your down comforter in? Also, what size pillows are the euro 28" or 26". Thanks

If you are looking for a top quality white sheet set, I have the hemstitched sheet set in white from Redland Cotton, and the classic organic cotton sheet set in white from American Blossom Linens. Both are made in America and all cotton. I’m not affiliated with them. Or anyone lol. I just love their sheets. I used to buy a new set of white sheets every year, because they always ripped, pilled, or were too hot. Now I have two sets of sheets that are substantial enough to use all year, but breathable so I don’t overheat. They get softer with each wash. The hemstitched detail is effortlessly classy and goes with everything so I can change my duvet or blankets anytime I want. They are an investment, but I have already made back the money from not having to replace them. I love that I can alternate the two sets and they will probably last me a lifetime. I could even pass them on to a child. They are the only bedding I have that is actually heirloom quality. My husband loves them too.

I still have very old sheets that I love and use (they get so soft and comfy over time). I mix and match everything works together. I totally get the "upside-down" sheets to fold over- mine has ruffles too. Another old set has eyelet trim. I use a flannel flat sheet as a summer layer. Found the perfect quilted comforter (Pinecone Hill) at Good Will for $15, I manifest things I want. 👍 I also bought a down comforter many years ago that I still use in Winter. Very easy to change out covers by sewing 2 flat sheets together. I use one long pillow in back, 2 added in front, then my real pillow + 2 accent. The accents get thrown on the floor every night 😂

Any advice on how to achieve a neat and tidy bed skirt look? I haven't been able to find a bed skirt that doesn't end up looking messy . I can't sew so I have to buy one. Any brands that won't break the bank but still look good and neat ? Love your home so much and your bed looks so lovely !!

That bed looks so uncomfortable and the front pillows are so worn and broken. Wtf.
It takes two minutes to. make my bed. Fitted bottom sheet then either summer or winter weight duvet give it a good shake. And then onto bed. Then lots of pillows all of which I use and that’s it. No flat sheets

The betting layering concept is really awesome. However I couldn’t tell towards the foot of the bed if you were folding covered the boxsprings. Or do you have the boxsprings covered separately I’ve seen that done before and other videos. The euro pillows are awesome I’m going to look into getting some of those myself! And the pattern is exquisite on those pillowcases of the euro pillows. Great video

So pretty and cozy. I often find down throw pillows at Goodwill for $2-$3. I remove the cover if I don't like it and put on my own pillow covers.
Great ideas for pillows because I never know what to do with them. Lol
I love pillows on my bed, too! Husband is use to them and he even likes them.

You make a pretty bed with one exception, you need to iron your sheets. I have never stayed in any hotel, fancy or not, where the sheets have not been ironed. Even MY sheets are never as winkled as yours were in your video. It is just a "thing" with me, If they don't come out of the dryer wrinkle-free, I iron what shows.
