      @@Lin_20046 that's true. It'd just that in the past, the media esp in tv shows and dramas, the househelp were usually depicted as "bisaya". I think that's where the stereotype came from. There'd a lot of renowned filipino artists who are from vismin and speak bisaya, but most manileños don't know that, it sucks but it's definitely changing.

    If a casual like you got hit with this song, that means a lot. Wait til you become an actual fan who knows their (SB19's) journey to stardom. You will be floored as to why this song is such an emotional song for Felip. He withstood so much hardships, bashing, being misunderstood because he's introverted, depressed from the passing of his grandparents who raised him while his actual parents were away in Malaysia and didn't talk to him for 2 years bec his mom was so against him leaving school to pursue being an SB19 trainee. Girl, so much struggles this boy had. I don't even understand Bisaya but the message made me cry in an instant, knowing his struggles.

    Ken Deconstructed: Love him or hate him, believe It or not
    Ken is the fifth member of the country's premier P-Pop group & must have been the missing piece that finally completed the jigzaw puzzle that would later be known as SB19 or better yet, Mahalima.
    We find Ken authentic because that's how we see or perceive him to be. He speaks his mind & expresses his true feelings even if it's not what others want to hear. He is someone who embraces his unique qualities & quirks, rather than trying to conform to societal norms. He mans up his shortcomings or admits his mistakes & takes responsibility for his actions.
    As Sisiws & Siwperiors, we always express our appreciation for Ken personally & professionally at that. After all, he is not just our ultimate bias for nothing. In fact, he's our favorite with or without rhyme or reason. Hence, we cannot help but cite & take pride in what we observe from or like in him.
    Sometimes, you'll find him detached from his peers, his fans, spectators or even from himself. No worries though, as he always compensates that by performing like a monster on stage along with his SB19 colleagues. When he sings with the Mahalima or solo, you become consumed by his emotions as if they are drawn from a well of intricate experiences that consequently lend character, luster & soul to every line delivered. But wait, there's more. When he dances, he moves or glides as if he floats on air replete with his innate, peculiar or natural swag that mesmerizes if not captivates most girls, ladies or women & worse, Ken even makes some men forget that they are one.
    Moreover, this boy from the province seems to be a child trapped in a man's body. He giggles like a kid at opportune times & then gets serious in appropriate occasions. He oozes with loads of machismo & yet, he cries at the thought of an evocative, nostalgic or significant past pertinent to his loved ones or a particular situation reminiscent of an old soul. Who could ever forget the time when Ken cried a river subsequent to receiving cakes in one of his natal days after recounting that cakes were never a fixture in his past birthdays except for a pancit canton? How about being surprised by his ate & tito in lieu of his parents during the presentation of SB19's song entitled "MaPa", wherein he was resigned to the fact that as always, his parents will not be around unlike the rest of his fellow SB19 members like Pablo, Josh, Justin & Stell?
    Ken, just like any of us, is not without flaws, shortcomings or imperfections. Call them "areas of improvement" that he has to handle or deal with. But if learning is from cradle to grave or from birth 'til death, who else is not a "work-in-progress" among us?
    Love him or hate him, believe it or not, but this is Ken through the eyes & lens of an avid supporter.

  • @bullfighterify
    @bullfighterify Рік тому

    "KANAKO", is a Visayan dialect from Zamboanga del Sur, Philippines, where Ken hails & it means, "For Me" in English. The song is Ken's or Felip's way of being grateful to his family, relatives or loved ones, fans or supporters & especially to God for being there for him through thick & thin, in good times & in bad, come hell or high waters. It's actually a tribute song to the Lord & his followers who are around protecting & supporting him, as always. Felip or Ken Suson is a thoughtful & grateful person, indeed, just as his song, Kanako entails or suggests. The song actually speaks volumes about Ken's greatness & magnanimity as an artist & a person.
    As a line in your song says it - Felip/Ken, we will always embrace you tightly, hold you in our hands & save you when the going gets tough or in crucial times when a part of the population hate, bash, ridicule or envy you or want to discourage you & pull you down. Know that we will always be there to protect you, and support you Ken - our anak or son, palangga or loved one, our manok or chicken, our ultimate bias. Bravo & kudos, Ken x Felip & God bless.
