This is a powerfully moving piece on the ND crypt. Thank you so much for the peaceful video tour with all the important info in there. Quite emotional! May Notre Dame rise again! Be well, you two 💜
I love Victor Hugo. So many movies from his books... Have you seen "les Miserables" musical ? Seen in London à few years ago. More than 30 years in theaters. Songs by 2 French men. 2018 movie with Hugh Jackman, Anne Hataway and Russel Crow with the song. So good.
@@kjandtonylovefrance Hi guys, you're doing a great job ! Congrats'👏👏👏 I' m French, living just a few kms from Paris and I subscribed to your channel because you really seem to enjoy my country and our capital city. If Tony ' s interested in V. Hugo, you should go and visit his Parisian house, it is in Le Marais, Place des Vosges. That's worth seeing ! I never heard you talking about Le Marais, one of the oldest arrondissement of Paris. Do you know that you can go directly from there to the Bastille ? And then, up to le Père Lachaise, the famous cemetary where Jim Morrison and others RIP.... Enjoy your time with us and have a look at the UA-cam Les Frenchies (she is American, he is French and they re back from the States and living in Paris) 😊 Bye Madeleine
Amazing... we've walked past that area dozens of times and had no idea it was there! The crypt is now on the list for our next visit. Thanks for sharing. M&R
My husband and I were lucky enough to be in Notre Dame Cathedral in 2018 on Palm Sunday, it was amazing. The sound of the organ playing and the whole celebration on Palm Sunday is a highlight of our time in Paris. Thanks for sharing this amazing place. I hope to return to Paris soon.
How wonderful that must've been. We are hoping to get to experience it when it opens again after the renovations. Perhaps it will be done when you return to Paris!! Thanks for watching.
I am kicking myself because i never knew that museum was there. I had tears in my eyes a few weeks ago, seeing her as a shell, without windows and spire, and enveloped in scaffolding. But still very greatful her walls still stand and she is being rebuilt. And glad I've spent time inside before that horrible fire. If you're still in the area, go to Le Bistro des Augustins. Tiny, darling place on the Seine with excellent and well priced food, especially their selection of gratins!
You’re welcome 😊 Glad you enjoyed it. It was pouring most of the day, so it was nice that I got to shoot something inside, but it's also why there's not a lot of footage outside. We are all soaked...lol. Thanks for watching, Michele 🥰
I love your videos And your smiles Whatever the weather You always share musical notes Echoing ✨✨✨ “ The sky is everywhere It begins at your feet “ Jandy Nelson 😊💕🎶🕊 Thank you 💫
Awesome video KJ & Tony! You could probably spend years exploring and learning about France's fascinating history. Around every corner, there seem to be an amazing reason to explore. I marvel at the architecture, particularly, all the uniquely designed doors of buildings that look like pieces of art! Thank you so much for sharing your 'new chapter,' and wishing you all the best!
Very interesting tour. Didn't know (or maybe I forgot) that existed and till the fire, I've been to Notre Dame many many times. I was probably so tired from our many climbs up the steps on each visit, that I didn't want any more walking. LOL. We will have to check it out (again) on return next fall. Thanks for showing this. 😍
I am so heartened to know that we were not the only ones who had no clue this crypt existed. You definitely should check it out on your next visit. It was wonderful! Thanks for watching 🥰
Never knew this was there. How eerie it seems. Dan Brown/DaVinciCode keeps running through my mind. Hope the repairs are going well. It would be a sin to lose such a treasure. Thanks again
How many people want to get a copy of Victor Hugo’s book after watching this? I’ve been in Notre Dame but never knew about this underground museum. It was a sunny day with crowds of people back in the early 80’s so perhaps that’s how we missed it or perhaps it was still under excavation? So much to see in that beautiful city.
Yes, so much to see in this beautiful city. And Tony ordered his whole collection as soon as we got home. He may have even done it while we were there...lol.
Not sure what you're referring to, so I guess we don't know. We're going back in June and will have to explore. I actually, now that I think about it, they constructed temporary offices and even apartments right next to the cathedral for all the workers who are restoring it. I think that's what it is.

@@magdacorsica5718 isn't Hugo buried there? So many writers as I recall
@@carolmartin4413 His sons are, but V. Hugo is in Le Panthéon, the place for the greatest men of the French Republic.
I so much enjoyed this video. Amazing ! It also made me think of "The Phantom of the Opera" .

He is definitely a deep thinker and loves art. He is studying for his MFA in game design.

Whats the small building next the cathedral?

Hi, just wondering if this flooded in 2016 when the rest of Paris, including the basement of the Lourve flooded.
This area of the cathedral most likely flooded due to its proximity to the Seine, but this museum did not first open until 2018.
I doubt it is fair to publish museum content...
