Watching this video prompts me to make this observation, somewhat unique on UA-cam: you never promote yourself, you promote the people and things around you.
So helpful that Austin referred to “dry” shade. Typically the information includes sun requirements rather than including the moisture needs! Also just realized you are a Wisconsin gardener! You will be my favorite going forward!
I've been on the lookout for shredded umbrella plants for a while...they are one of those plants that you just want to reach out and touch. I love that Austin not only recommended some great plants but also gave suggestions on how to use them in the garden. My list just got longer 🙃
Thank you Erin, new varieties to for shade, what fun. I definitely will be on the lookout for some of these. Thank you Austin for your generosity in introducing us to these new varieties.
That Deschampsia "Gold Tau' Tufted hair grass would look great planted in a large head planter! I love the spikey look it would add to one of those. I enjoyed listening to Austin talk about his favorite perennials. Thank you, Erin, for doing this interview with him. Have a fun Memorial weekend! ~Margie🤗💐
AWESOME new varieties for me to try that I've never heard of! THANK you Erin and Austin for this informative video! Will DEFinately check out Austin's designs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a great presentation. There are NO nurseries within 50 miles at least near our home, that offer anything but the already blooming( forced in a greenhouse) perennials pushed by the big name companies. Wish I could find a nursery like Roy’s.
Thank you so much! My favorite designer with my favorite Gardner how perfect can that get! I have been trying to copy his designs in my yard for a year or so. Nice to see him talk about some of his favorite plants I never heard of and will be adding soon.
Great job Erin…snagging a garden designer 👩🏽🎨 🤩 I wrote these on my wish list. I also just received a clematis I forgot I ordered 😍 Happy gardening 🤗🌱
Wonderful video, great to hear about dry shade plants. Umbrella Plant and Autumn Bride have been on my list for a couple of years, always on the lookout for them!
I love to hear new page recommendations! Thanks. I feel sorry for folks who can't grow heuchera. Mine are evergreen (Vancouver BC Canada) and flourish and spread!
Lovely!! Quite I few new plants to look out for. Sidenote: Sporobolus airoides (that early blooming dropseed grass) also goes by alkali sacaton around here (intermountain west) and works great in our climate/soils.
Wanted to let you know how well your advice to cut the first buds off of sedum worked. Used it last year and my sedum bloomed a little later but no flopping and the plant filled out beautifully with strong stems that kept the flowers standing tall. I just cut this season's buds!
Good morning gorgeous Erin! Thank you for all your help and great advice. Question: do you separate your corms when growing jumpstarts? ie listris, etc. I grew 3 corms per 1 g nursery pots. Thank you!!
Good recommendations although I wish there were more pictures of how it’s designed on an actual landscape. I am a visual learner and I have a hard time following through just by words

Great observation and absolutely true 😊

Thank you for interviewing Austin! Great to see what his favorites are
It's the hard-to-find ones that are often the most special. Thanks for sharing 🥰
Great suggestions thanks Austin! Look forward to following and learning more.

Me too! Maybe Roy will consider selling online???
Wow Erin! Thanks so much for that. It was so informative. Going to watch it multiple times to make sure I soak it all in. Will be following Austin.
One of my favorite things: watching your videos, and writing down the great plants you show us, for the future! Thanks, Erin.

I was excited to hear about the variety he mentioned. The search is on!
Terrific video! Thank you!
Well this totally explains why my Carnival Watermelon Huchera is the only one that keeps coming back robustly. Thanks for the info!!
Thanks for great interview. Nice supplement to program on Roy's channel

He has a good eye on things. Hope the interview will be much longer.

Thankyou for this Erin🙂🙂🙂
Great video. I have Bowman's root and love it.
Great interview. I live about 15 minutes from Northwind and I think I *need* to go buy some of those Shredded Umbrella plants.

It's probably the only place I can find the Alchemia 'Hella'. Maybe I'll make that trip.
Note to self, add grasses and hucheras to highlight flowers!
Dam this dide knows his plants!

Is he really tall, are you really short, or both? (Great video, by the way.)
Both! Very difficult to frame this one! 🤣
❤
Enjoyed the video thank you ( u k )
👍❤️😊
Mature height in people doesn’t matter as it does with plants lol
🤣
You are acting like I would have acted if I got to meet Eddie Van Halen...
Why interview someone and then talk over them, rush them, correct them… Lmao terrible
