- In this video, we explore why Sylphie accepted Roxy in *Mushoku Tensei*. Sylphie’s maturity helps her recognize Roxy’s deep bond with Rudeus, viewing her as an ally rather than a rival. This acceptance shows Sylphie’s understanding and respect for their shared love for Rudeus.

Sylphy knew that if Roxy and her shared Rudeus then Nanahoshi would have smaller chance of getting Rudeus
The one woman sylphy would never accept would be Nanahoshi 😂
Rudi x Nanahoshi was never going to be a thing.
Nanahoshi rejects this world that she was forced to come to, in terms of isekai protagonists she would have been the type you would see before MT became popular.
That is most modern isekais are a form of escape from a bleak and bland world that the protagonists usually are actively running away from or at least have no love of.
Where as there was a point where when a character got isekai'd a major part of the story was them searching for a way home, that's nanahoshi.
She wants to return to her family, her friends and she even has a boyfriend for that matter too.
@@svenstevenson2245 she low key reminds me noafumi
Sylphie also got taught Milis noble manners by Zenith and Asuran noble manners by Lilia, they were literally raising her to be Rudeus' wife 😂😂
I think what Sylphie actually said fit best. If the roles were reversed, she would have done the exact same thing.
it's because we don't fight over who's best girl so he marries all 3
She knows that saying no won’t make him stop, she even says herself “my husband can’t keep it in his pants when I’m not around.”
Even in this scene you can see that when Roxy left Rudy was NOT giving up.
not really Therefore, he first apologized on his knees, and only then asked permission. If Sylphy refused, he wouldn't object. For Rudeus, Sylphy and Roxy are equally important because... they influenced his life. But he will not sacrifice Sylphy for the sake of Roxy, he fully accepted responsibility for his crime, and therefore confessed to what he had done. The argument that after Norn drove Roxy away, Rudeus didn't want to let her go doesn't work. After all, UNTIL this moment, Sylphy herself had not said anything. It was HER decision that carried weight
In light novel since in there rudy get deceived by elinalise to think roxy is pregnant, rudy make up his mind that even if sylphy not allowing him marry roxy, rudy still gonna help roxy financially.
Second in light novel sylphy said "i know one day rudy will sleep with another woman if i not around but rudy is responsible man too if he sleep with another woman i believe he will bring her to family"
@@АлександрТерехов-ж3йAs a light novel reader you hit it right on the dot and the same goes for his 3rd wife this is the reason on why sylphie is stated by rudeus that she is the goddess of love and Roxy is the goddess of wisdom
Be fair she knows of Roxy and likely understands that her and Rudy would not know the things they know without Roxy. She trained Rudy and then he passed what he knew down to sylphy
because that world doesn't have our standards. easy + Sylph had kind of suggested it to him herself
*reads the title*
Me: Its a god damn isekai mate.
We don't talk about that here bro....😂😂😂
She knows Rudeus can’t control his urges of being a horn dog and she knows that he will still be loyal to her (slphy will feel the same way when he gets Eris in as rudeus’s husband/3rd wife in the mix)
This anime made me cry I love the show and is story
"Harem anime" - circa. 1200 A.D.
Gotta be honest the issue is not wheter it makes sense or not, the problem is not the character writing, is the fact that is hard to accept, thats it.
Sylphie a gigachad for accepting Roxy ngl
It’s pretty obvious right she knew what type of person rudeus was and accepted that person and married him why would u be mad at something u know would happen
Great points!
It is THIS reason that Sylphie stands out amongst the rest. Neither of the other 2 girls would have found this situation acceptable especially Eris. Roxy is next because she eventually accepted Eris.
Just finished this season. Idk how to feel about it..
Really bro it was like a rollercoaster
It happened because the author wanted it to happen, not because it made any sense.
It means you watched the anime or read the manga too superficially. There is just logic, as well as prerequisites for this since the beginning of history
Perfectly said
It perfectly makes sence considering the world
It happened because no one i volved were members of milis and if was their be issues since millis is a fucked upcreligion that when people heard a pope say “all people are ewuil under milis” had a civil split over a sooo casual debate if id the demon race are even people a religion thats still debating if sentient beings are living people or monsters to kill
@@arkzerstrangeryup world really fill some polygmist and incest people still exist . there is more and common in medival era where king and emporor have multiple wife , 100 of concubine and we do not forget incest of dynastic family from every region of world there are still family that kind brief still exist
why many freak crying harem in harem anime that have multiple wife
Because we had higher expectations from this anime, than some other trashy isekais
ironic to call normal people freaks
How the heck are we the freaks?
Sylphie new that Roxy loved Rudy and Rudy loved Roxy. She also knew Nanahoshi, Aerial, Rania & Persina didn't love Rudy but would be with him because he's powerful and would only use Rudy for their own ends. Like the girl that tries to seduce Rudy after he rescues her and her friend from the lizard. She doesn't love Rudy she just want him to fill her fantasies
This is just sad, i Don't get what alot of people are saying about it being the way the world is, or syphil not being a follower of the so called goddess, or about it being the author's wish(which is true for the author part), but that doesn't make it right, syphil might have smiled and accepted it, but knowing her she died silently inside(seeing rudeus even kneel and begging her), also she must have offered it initially, but that was just out of being insecure about rudeus living her of which he made it worse by promising her never to bring in another woman, and from her expression when rudeus told her about roxy, if she didn't believe he's promise back then, she wouldn't have taken so long to process it, imagine waiting for rudeus in that condition and then rudeus comes back kneeling down to her inorder for him to marry roxy, of cause she wouldn't be able to refuse, also this wasn't the end of it cause he later also married the wolf girl, of which made no sense, that's part of the problem (he didn't just stop at roxy), it continued
Imagine if syphil was the one who told him that or even worse did that
Rudeus regressed in character, from maturity with he's experience with syphil to blatantly ignoring everything he went through with her
Sylphie grew up, being taught by Zenith and Lilia, and she experienced through them that they were never unhappy despite what Paul did. And using Paul as an example (despite Rudy being different) she already expected Rudy to have multiple wives from the start. If she was in Roxy's shoes she would have done the same thing as her. Also you have this misconception of Sylphie as this pushover, but she'd leave Rudy and elope with Ariel and Luke the moment she felt she was unhappy.
-spoiler-
You also need to understand that the common sense in that world is drastically different. When Aisha groomed Ars (Eris' son) and started sleeping with him, Sylphie had absolutely no idea why Rudy was so fucking angry at both of them, and she was ready to accept their relationship after they apologized.
-spoiler end-
Rudy didn't regress. He's still the same coward he usually is,. He didn't even want to marry Roxy and it took Elinalize scamming him by telling he got her pregnant before Rudy even considered it.
Thank heavens the anime didn't pull a re:zero and we get to keep both the white-haired elf and the blue-haired demon
Banana Getting all the Hate😂😂
Did … accept*
You know... just about half of the world is polygamic. It may be a big deal here in the Christian world, but in asia is something not too far away.
because: plot
Eris? man spoilers
If you open a history book you know that this sort of thing occasionally happened in the past especially with the stronger males. It seems very strange today but there was a time it was accepted. I can't fathom it when many Americans are working/commuting such crazy long hours they struggle to give 1 wife adequate love/attention they deserve. I'm not sure the modern way is any better when so many marriages end in divorce, more often than not the marriage ends with them hating each others guts and divorce is financially devastating. Although if the man is free to take multiple wives then women should be allowed to take multiple husbands.
It's bcoz it's what the author wants...
Problem solved 😏
Not my story, don't always have to make sense if it's what the mangaka wants. But for me I kind of don't want a poly relationship. Sylphy was my favorite of the characters, and I just didn't want her to share Rudeus. Rudeus has become someone I grew to dislike as he became so obsessed with Roxy even while a married man and with a kid. Keep in mind before you try and downvote me or whatever, I'm not saying I dislike anyone who likes the show or that this anime is a complete dumpster fire. I'm simply a romantic loving bastard who was rooting for Sylphie and ended up being spoiled that Redeus marries 2 other girls. Sylphie simply put in some work to be a good wife only to have a mentally 30 year old guy to be like hmm not enough.
Because Roxy is Rudy's master and has a unique ability to rescue him from despair and chastise him with just a look; meanwhile Eris is bigger than Sylphy or Roxy and can beat them up.
Ahhhhhh
I would be totally ok with all of that under one condition:
Sylphie is allowed to have second husband or male lover 🤷♂️
And everything is fair and square
Knowing how she is, she probably wouldn't really want that tbh.
In many cultures its normal for men to have two wifes but not the opposite. accept it bro even if you don't like it
@@omarhamdan3552 I know that many cultures are like that. I can live knowing that this is happening.
But it doesn't change the fact that I consider it disgusting and humiliating for women.
I know that sexual fantasy of banging 2 women in bed while they are also being faithful to you is tempting but there should be line between sexual fantasy and married life
But that's just my european opinion, not like you have to agree with me.
I would be fine with this happening If scylpie would at least have more conflict with it for a little while before agreeing. Just having her automatically be happy about It made her come off more like a robot than an actual character. Then the explanation and excuse was even kind of dumb to me. Like this guy is going through weeks of trauma cant walk or talk right because his dad died and all of his Emotional trama gets cleared up because he gets to cheat on his wife.?😂 That's all his trauma amounted to? it just felt like self Insert s*** on the hand of the writer. And I didn't like this choice. Whatsoever. And like I said before. I'm fine with a harem plot line but the writing leading up to it just kinda took me out of the story and made these characters feel less like real people and more like some weird authors fantasy's.
To be fair, we have been shown just how much Sylphie loves Rudy. She may have had some conflicts with it, but I really wouldn't put it past her to suppress those for Rudeus' sake. She knew allowing him to marry Roxy would make him happy, and she would totally be willing to suppress her own feelings on the matter for his happiness.
The point you made about Rudeus 'Instantly getting over his trauma by cheating on his wife' is totally valid, though. That was bullshit.
@@Prodagist like i said before im cool with her being fine with it i just wish she had more conflict with it first before being fine with it. it would ad more depth to her character. right now shes coming off as one note instead of a fully realized character.

Rudeus character development died in that cringe moment
You can say that. And rudeus was always weird
Well its an harem anime or well light novel series them ending up together was a done deal from volume 1.
Its like Complaining that there are just too much fights in a shonen anime.
If you don't understand anything, yes.
Calm down, I'll explain to you how Rudeus's growth happens through this conflict. At the end of the season, Rudeus talks to Paul at his tomb, what does Rudeus say? “Paul, I finally realized that I was just a brat who used past memories to pretend to be an adult”, The implications of such a statement are several and among them is also the factor of having more than one wife. Rudeus acted like someone more mature, especially towards Paul, who he didn't even see as a real father, one of the factors that Rudeus used to portray himself as more mature than Paul was his promises to have only one wife influenced by his past life memories, even if it wasn't like that for this world. When Rudeus made his mistake in a moment of weakness he discovered that he was not in fact mature and his promise was just ego using his past memories and now he was in a dilemma that mirrored Paul's situation and is one of the factors that make Rudeus finally recognizes Paul as his father..But everything wasnt lost yet, he had an impact on the lives of those two people, so he must take responsibility for both parties and that is what Rudeus does.
growth lies in the realization that memories of the past were just an excuse to pretend that he was mature and that there is still a lot to grow. One of the first steps in this direction is to take responsibility in the lives of those he has impacted and loves.
It didnt
@@whatamess8894Paul was absolutely a scumbag and Rudeus regressed into being just like him. They just dressed it up to sound beautiful when in actuality he cheated on his pregnant wife.
It's a harem manga who's plot and character emotions are dictated by the writer's fantasy, not logic.
You say this after it was logically explained?? 🤣
@@trevonw67 it’s logically as long as you avoid talking about psychology. You add psychology in the mix it falls a bit flat as it stops making a bunch of sense.
@@treymiller5736 but wait correct me if I'm wrong but didnt he already go into sylphie's psychology tho? Like how her mind works she already deduced this very thing was gonna play out it was only a matter of when and she accepted it.
In world where polygamy exists, it can be logical for someone to have multiple wives especially when they grow up around a polygamous household. Personally, I would've just stayed only with Sylphie, but that's me.
@@Lokhir100 exactly smh nuance is a thing ppl really have to learn about 😮💨 even irl different strokes for different folks
This moment ruined the anime for me sadly. Shame
I used to love that anime, but when all those sexual scenes came in, I couldn't continue anymore. What a loss for a good anime😢
Yeah honestly, it kind of nerfed the full potential of the show and what ended up driving me off, and I'm the farthest thing from a prude. I just started getting fed up at all of the fanservice-y bits (some of them REALLY egregious, like zooming in on Roxy soiling herself in fear for absolutely no reason) constantly interrupting the plot. Poly representation is AWESOME, but the show is just... off somehow. It feels like two different shows.
there have been clear references to the harem since the beginning of the story. From the very first episodes they hinted at a harem and built relationships.
Dude this anime is actually relatively very tame in regards to fanservice, and not a lot of it either, when you compare to other anime, especially when you look at older series (like High School DxD or TLR). Even when there is sexual stuff, there's usually a reason for it - like Paul and Zenith going at it, because no fucking shit Sherlock, of course a married couple who is trying to have more children is going to be having sex often. I can just tell most of the anime you watch is battle shounen.
@@uihirasawa843 - A.) Zooming in on a peeing crotch will always be 100% unnecessary fetish bait. B.) I don't care how tame it is relevant to other anime. The fetish bait in this story was weird and tonally inconsistent. It is okay to objectively criticize AND like the media you consume, you do not have to meatride it for internet strangers. C.) You have no idea who I am, what I watch, and what anime I like, so that was a poor bet you just made.
@@Chaeley Dude for point C I didn't even fucking quote you lol. Also in regards to your comment, "constantly interrupting the plot" - you make it sound like it's throwing random fanservice in at some point every 3-5 minutes of an episode when it doesn't even come close. Even if the anime was as overly sexual as you're making it out to be, it wouldn't even really be "tonally inconsistent" or out of pocket because you're forgetting that the story is mostly coming from the perspective of an MC that was formerly shut up in his room for about 20 years mostly playing video games and watching porn and is pretty stunted mentally and in terms of maturity. That's really not a good point to try to critique when that's one Rudeus' problems that he needs to fix.
1:09 There's no need to phase it so nicely... they were both perverts...🙂↕️
