    If I already have full power of attorney and wish to add a step sibling on for medical poa, is there a specific form for that, since i'm guessing just copying off my poa and writing in, "I hereby authorize _______ for medical", isn't going to work.

    So, question. My boyfriend wants me to have POA over him for any and all medical decisions even while indisposed, as well as all finances...same, including while indisposed. Is there 1 for that, or can he do 2 different POA's to the same person and they not cancel each other out? This is for Ohio, if that helps?

    My father has Alzheimer's and his condition is getting progressively worse. We're discussing power of attorney so I can handle his medical situations as they arise as well as his finances: making sure his bills are taken care of, etc. Which form would I use? Thank you.

    • @eFormsOfficial

      Hello Elke! There are several different Power of Attorney (POA) forms-- each of which serves a specific purpose and designates a certain power to an agent. The Medical POA is used to give the agent the power to make medical or health-based decisions on behalf of the person who is assigning the powers (in your case, your father). Here, you can read more regarding a Medical POA and view a few samples: eforms.com/power-of-attorney/medical/. A Durable/Financial POA works in a similar way, except it designates powers regarding financial matters. Here is the page for that document: eforms.com/power-of-attorney/durable/
      All the forms are also separated by state in those links above. So, be sure to select your state and view the information that is state-specific for your case.

It's also a very informative site as I can assure you that if you join it you will surely find someone that has been in your same situation and can help guide you should you have more questions.

    Couple of questions is "limited power of attorney" and "power of attorney for property" the same? and; if the principal is on jail can he make a "power of attorney for property" for his son who is 20 years old?

      If there are already property disputes or something in which property is already involved then it can't be made without permission of court but if property is not involved already regarding him being in jail then obviously it can be made

      Hi there, apologies for the delay. In response to your first question: Yes, different states may have slightly different names for the same idea, but real estate or property is one of many things that can be the subject of a limited power of attorney. You can find examples of these types of forms here:
      eforms.com/power-of-attorney/limited/
      Best of luck.

      be very careful that the person doesn't deceive you, is honest. I have been deceived and abused , slowly stressing to death by them. They lie to the police and get police to take me, for no reason except their ugly secret scheme. Thet played psychological tricks pon me for years vefore, so that I got confused, desorientd by their withholding vital information, and bý them treating me subtly badly, which has a slow but sure weakening, castrating and depressing, psychological pararalyzing effect. and they are good at their games, pretending to be nice and benevolent.

    In Sweden we have, apart rom guardianship, sth called Good Man. Is that the same as Power of attorney? The principal keeps his legal rights and the Good Man shall do only what the principal decides and they agree upon. In practice, it is being abused, they act as though they had the roght to decide, more like a guadian. Then we have "Fullmakt", which mans the actor can sign documents agrred upon with the principal, as well as get and give information for him. Which of these is POA please? Or do you have only one term and role for both? I mean, does PO A do both jobs?

    • @eFormsOfficial
      @eFormsOfficial  Рік тому

      Hi Claudia -- these both sound like what a US POA can do, although we can't speak confidently to the similarities or differences between a POA in the United States verses one in Sweden. Since we aren't able to give legal advice on this platforms, we recommend taking a look at this page to help inform your decisions: eforms.com/power-of-attorney/.

      @@eFormsOfficial Thank you so much, I am far past that stage of decision in dire need of help, suport or advice: They took my right to decide from me, by secretly seeking guardianship on me instead, telling the police to take me into psychiatry without a reason, having got a fake psychiatry assessment (which doesn't assess any need of guardianship at all; he was ashamed to do it, the whole room oozed of an embarassment I didn't understand until after the fact). After that, they lured me to psychiatry again, on the pretext of letting me get some sleep, but instead telling them to write false note that I should have a "serious psychical disturbance" Without even examining me, but saying, herself, that she was a children's psychiatrist and not capable to judge adults! they kept me awake for 7 hours, so much for that promised sleep (I have suffered from severe insomnia since trauma as I sought psychotherapy, 23 years ago),- while reading my journals, which I had clearly forbidden! The night nurse who talked and spent time with me during that whole night said i had no psychosis, but went home to sleep after her shift, without stating this on their morning meeting.
      I sought Personal assistence (Aspergers with trauma and disease) and an undisturbed cottage to sleep), and when they only abused me for years,withholding suport and help, wherefore I sought Power of Attourney (Good Man). They want me in a "home" though, to be controlled and therefore machiavellianly took my home, my good name, legal rights and my money away from me, just sending me food money. I was in acute need of healtcare and dental treatment since then, 13 years ago. It is a catastrophe, i thought friends would help me, as I fled to my village from mistreatment in a "support home".But people don't even believe me or want to know, they presume that I didn't pay the rent!I have been homeless for 7½ years now, and can't keep alive alone without help much longer.
      Psychically paralyzed, haven't even protested, since I can't afford saying things in distress that they will twist against me again, or have me killed for real.A politician even said to m that they might shoot me if I call them out and try to save myself. I had no idea there was such corruption here.
      I can get it solved though, if only I have an advocate or legal advisor, because it is clear that they have no legal ground, - there aren't even agreements, and I wasn't even informed! Apart from not being in a coma, crazy, backwards, dement,shopoholic etc...
      I use food-money to buy homeopathic medicine and supplements, since find outranged vegetables in some bins and some un-sold food from shops/church.
      If you would be so kind as to help me a little, I should be so grateful and glad! I can pay some for interactive, structured help (not guesswork). With sincere greetings.

I think durable power of attorney is what I should get for this case, but can I make medical decisions with that as well ( he goes to the ER at least once a week, his arthritis is so bad he cannot walk).

    why is a court appointed conservator expensive?

    • @eFormsOfficial
      @eFormsOfficial  2 роки тому +1

      Hello, apologies for the delay in responding.
      There are several expenses that tend to be associated with court-appointed conservators or guardians. First, before the arrangement is established, there are court fees and attorney fees necessary for a judge to impose a conservatorship. These will usually be paid by the estate. So will the costs of any doctors or medical personnel who need to testify in a conservatorship proceeding. Once a judge has approved a conservatorship, the estate is responsible for paying the conservator a salary in exchange for the conservator's work in taking care of the person under their care. The estate also must usually pay for expenses associated with the conservatorship, such as legal or accounting services that the conservator feels are needed to protect the person under their care. All of these can add up quickly, and become very expensive over a long period of time.
      Hope that helps!

    If any of your parents ask you to be power of attorney it’s not a good thing (in my opinion) don’t do it! You’ll be drawn into hours and hours of unpaid phone calls, decision making and aggrieved conversations with your parent when you have to make a decision they don’t like. Do you really want that?
