perfect video to watch as i put one of these Breville coffeemakers in my "cart" ... great explanation of functions and love that you kept urging him to show its pour over abilities! thank you!!
I am drinking my first cup of coffee from my Breville thanks to your reviews. It is very smooth and delicious. It actually exceeded my expectations. Can’t wait to experiment with various beans and brewing methods. Thank you for your guidance!
Just a heads up. I've purchased two of these units (in Canada) and both cannot brew a GOLD cup. When the brewing starts it totally skips the Bloom phase. I received the second unit as a replacement for the first and neither work. I think I'll be returning mine. It's also worth noting that the Precision Brewer has been REMOVED from the Specialty Coffee Association's list of certified home brewers. I've reached out to ask why but haven't heard back yet - based on my experience, I suspect performance failures like I'm experiencing. Very sad but time for a new brewer!
I have one and overall it’s great. One minor item that I wish I could control. When I set it up for auto start, it will occasionally not start in the morning. The reason is explained in the troubleshooting section. If you leave it in a place with bright light like a window or in my case, the kitchen light is on, the sensor in the water tank assumes you haven’t added the water so it doesn’t start. The work around is to move it to a darker area of the kitchen. Not a major problem but an annoying one. It’s a beautiful machine so I would like it in an area I can easily get to it and show it off. My recommendation would be for Breville to offer a darker plastic water tank or some other method as a workaround.
Really curious of "gold" side by side with moccamaster... both for flavor, and availability of replacement parts if/when needed. :) Breville please make a glass lined thermo carafe - I can taste the metal in my coffee, but I don't want my coffee to burn on a hot plate. THANK YOU!
Just purchased one but they don't tell you the pour over attachment doesn't come with the unit. The orange dripper and the little stand does but not the cup you put coffee into?
This is sold in Europe under the Sage Brand. Only difference is all the measurements are metric. My kids bought me one for my 60th birthday, it's misplay brilliant. The only downside is that I'm now buying coffee by the kilo (as we drink so much) :)
When brewing for a mug less than 20 oz, or making drip over, can you select the exact amount oz of water you want, if yes, do you need the exact amount of water in the water tank, or you can have a full water tank and it will dispose only the amount of water I choose like the Ninja coffee bar?
I want to get one and from all the reviews I’ve read the only negative I can see is that it would be nice if the water resivoire could be removed to wash then replaced on the machine was
What is the largest size pour over that can be done? If it is only a 1 cup size, it is really too much to change out all the stuff for just one cup of coffee.
I don't want to sound like a smartass, but the taste of fresh brewed hot coffee is mainly different from cooled down coffee(I don't mean cold coffee), because your tastebuds can actually not fully taste the coffee at high temperatures. Of course the nasal taste will be a bit different, but tasting a bit cooled down coffee is way more objektiv, because your tongue is not distracted from the heat, at least in my opinion. Correct me please, if I'm wrong.
I'm looking for the best coffee maker under $300 and this one is on sale for $199 right now. Would you say this is the best coffee maker on the market? I don't know a thing about coffee nor do I drink I'm looking to get someone a gift
RyNo Agreed, nice to see another great brewer at a more affordable price point, depending on what you want. I love my Moccamaster mainly for the coffee but also because of its history/ heritage. For anyone who just needs a great cup of coffee, this and Bona Vita are great to have on the market.
What exactly is the difference between standard brewing and "pourover" mode? One has a 4 hole screen and one has a 3 hole screen but the machine essentially just spits hot water over coffee grounds in both cases. Isn't it honestly just a BS mode they slap on the flashy dial thingy just to say they have a pourover mode?
When will you carry it or do you now? I'm finally ready to give away my very old and basic Cuisinart coffee maker and get something new. This machine looks like just the thing.
Looks really nice, but one thing about this machine is wrong, it states in the menu and is repeated by guest speaker that there is a "Cold" brew feature built in, this is true only in name ! After checking with the company, the water is delivered hot, then allowed to "cool" for upto 10hours; this is not a Cold brew ! The company is now aware of this oversight and hopefully corrects this either by delivering cold water for a true cold brew or changes the menu to reflect its true nature; a hot brew that has cooled down.
a bit off topc...anybody know of a coffee...without a chocolately taste...maybe its my brewing method...but they are all starting to taste like cocoa :(
I love me some Seattle Coffee Gear but their fawning they do over Breville is just appalling. A few years ago I went out and bought a Grind Control on their recommendation. Three machines later, I finally gave up and returned it to Bed Bath and Beyond. Breville is the Apple of small appliances, add lots of whizzes and bangs and keep people from seeing the poor quality that hides behind it. I went to pour over and a Behmor Connected in a pinch, haven't looked back since.
Fair play to you. I thought 4'45 to decide which coffee tasted best was a bit much, but 16 minute review of a coffee machine? It's not Gail's fault (don't accuse me of throwing shade at Gail!) but you do need to edit your raw footage before you upload it. 16 MINUTES!
Nope! You heard it right. Cold Brew coffee is brewed over a longer period of time, as temperature speeds up the process exponentially. By brewing at the 4 to 1 ratio that Phil recommends, you get an incredibly smooth and concentrated cup of cold brew coffee. You can dilute with milk or water and pour over ice, or just drink straight! It's a really wonderful feature.
Okay, I did actually misunderstand. I assumed it dripped at 200F over a 10 hour period. Stewed coffee comes to mind, yuck. I take it this system brews at 100-120F over 10 hours, and thus uses a reduced electrical load compared to regular brewing? I also thought he meant you put the ice cubes in the thermal carafe for those 10 hours.
This thing is garbage. Fake hot plate, the temp is NOT 195-205 (temp was 165 with digital thermo), I returned mine. Do yourself a favor and just buy the Technivorm Moccamaster.
Maybe yours was broken. This machine is SCA certified/recommended. sca.coffee/certified-home-brewer The temps you referred to are the brewing temps, not the final coffee temp.
They add in all these bells and whistles and lacks the ability to simply fill the tank to the max and simply choose a volume on the machine Instead of having to manually pour in and dose the water every time. That's extremely stupid
You guys need an editor and possibly a script. I understand the geeking over cool tech but come on Gail... You can enjoy the machine after you shoot the video.
You'll be old too someday buddy. Most likely you won't be pretty but hopefully you'll have something to share and ways to keep active other than making fun of older people,...and remember- what goes around comes around. Try being kind.
perfect video to watch as i put one of these Breville coffeemakers in my "cart" ... great explanation of functions and love that you kept urging him to show its pour over abilities! thank you!!
We've had this pot for several months and love it. It makes a great cup of coffee and is super easy to use. We always use the Gold setting.
I am drinking my first cup of coffee from my Breville thanks to your reviews. It is very smooth and delicious. It actually exceeded my expectations. Can’t wait to experiment with various beans and brewing methods. Thank you for your guidance!
I think Gail has a crush :)
Great video. Thx as always!
DrJ2368 crush on brewer?
I was thinking the same
I miss Kat!
Bring Kat back... I can't watch their videos anymore...
Planet Fabulous cat never showed her face. Times have changed.
get u someone who looks at u like gail looks at a Breville Precision Brewer
This had us all dying of laughter in the office!
Please do a crew review, actually showing the different settings in action. This thing is awesome!

Gail loves Breville. She knows they make good quality products and they look pretty.
I have one and overall it’s great. One minor item that I wish I could control. When I set it up for auto start, it will occasionally not start in the morning. I have the same annoying problem and need to then empty the tank to refill
Wow, this needed to happen! It’s been too long for this to have not been done already!
Really curious of "gold" side by side with moccamaster... both for flavor, and availability of replacement parts if/when needed. :)
Breville please make a glass lined thermo carafe - I can taste the metal in my coffee, but I don't want my coffee to burn on a hot plate. THANK YOU!
This guy's neck hair game is off the charts.
PJH Productions 🤣🤣🤣
Just bought the machine, so I decided to watch a few videos on it, and now all I can think of is this dudes neck hair...
Just purchased one of these. It's brilliant!
Just purchased one but they don't tell you the pour over attachment doesn't come with the unit. The orange dripper and the little stand does but not the cup you put coffee into?
My next brewer!
They thought of everything!!
Good job👍
You mentioned changing the temperature for different types of coffee. Could you make a video expounding on that? This coffeegyrl need to know!
This is sold in Europe under the Sage Brand. Only difference is all the measurements are metric. My kids bought me one for my 60th birthday, it's misplay brilliant. The only downside is that I'm now buying coffee by the kilo (as we drink so much) :)
What is the heating element made of? Is it copper, steel or aluminum?
You got me sold on this coffee maker i been looking for a brewer like this
When brewing for a mug less than 20 oz, or making drip over, can you select the exact amount oz of water you want, if yes, do you need the exact amount of water in the water tank, or you can have a full water tank and it will dispose only the amount of water I choose like the Ninja coffee bar?
From what I understand it uses all of the water in the tank, so you need to have the right amount in it to begin with.
Gail seems to be...Xtra happy to see him :) hahaha ..
Do you suggest using a paper filter in the small reservoir? It doesn't show.
"No one can make an all in one drip machine". Breville, "hold my Foster's and watch this!"
Did Sage buy Breville? Are they one in the same?
Oh Great! I bought a new coffee machine and this thing comes out. Will have to wait for my machine to fail before I get the Breville
never have I ever. It's how the Jetsons make coffee -- in the future
Whoa! Thank you Breville! This needed to be done! Great product
No doubt about it! We're pretty excited.
I want to get one and from all the reviews I’ve read the only negative I can see is that it would be nice if the water resivoire could be removed to wash then replaced on the machine was
Does it take a water filter?
are the measurements on the container....metric ?
She is cracking me up in this video 😂 love it
Will you do a video on how to descale the precision brewer?
Where’s the glass version of the Precision Brewer? Nowhere online, not even on Breville’s own website.
if you're using it with a hario, can you lift the shower screen to stir?
I was all set to make fun of the complexity of this machine, but I really do like what I'm hearing and it sounds well thought out.
Me too!
I'll stick with my Behmor, but it's cool to see the rest of the market heading that direction. Never thought I'd see it :)
What is the largest size pour over that can be done? If it is only a 1 cup size, it is really too much to change out all the stuff for just one cup of coffee.
When is this coming to market?
It's a shame that Breville (an Australian company I believe) does not have this available in Australia.
It’s available in Australia now, generally Aussies prefer espresso based coffees so may have been slow to come down here
is it available in philippines now? how much?
Comparison between this and behmor please

What was the price? UA-cam cut out.
I'm looking for the best coffee maker under $300 and this one is on sale for $199 right now. Would you say this is the best coffee maker on the market? I don't know a thing about coffee nor do I drink I'm looking to get someone a gift
Yes
Possible game changer and at a decent price point.
Joe, I said decent price. Something like this will never be cheap.
RyNo Agreed, nice to see another great brewer at a more affordable price point, depending on what you want. I love my Moccamaster mainly for the coffee but also because of its history/ heritage. For anyone who just needs a great cup of coffee, this and Bona Vita are great to have on the market.

Thought about that too. Doubt it makes a difference in the coffee. But the geek in me would like to see the brewing process.
When will you carry it or do you now? I'm finally ready to give away my very old and basic Cuisinart coffee maker and get something new. This machine looks like just the thing.
Hi Mia! We're excited to start carrying the Precision brewer at the beginning of September!
Thanks. Any chance of getting on an 'alert' list if you guys have one?
220 volts version?
Great review and great machine! Now something else I will need to buy lol 😂
I purchased it but not sure I know how to use it. I love Breville but my first brew tasted like colored water and I used Starbucks French Roast
Wow I want one
Wish it was prettier. Breville's plastic under chrome stuff is not my cup of tea. But ya looks a quality brewer.
What does he mean at time 7:35 when he says 4 to 1 ratio?
Believe it's grams of coffee to grams of water.
Phil dosnt age at all. Must be the coffee. Good to see an Aussie in the states selling our product.

TECHNIVORM WEEPS!
Nice but too much plastic in contact with hot water.
Can one buy breville products in Europe?
Sage
You talked me into it Gail.
You'll love it Bruce!
Just take my money
That's it in a nutshell. 'exactly'
a bit off topc...anybody know of a coffee...without a chocolately taste...maybe its my brewing method...but they are all starting to taste like cocoa :(

You interrupted the man too much. Let him talk!
Yes, very annoying.
What a machine.
Wow this is unique. I'd love to see a commercial version.
Let the man speak.
Have those two got a room yet?
MacGyver's brewer
Can brew coffee to 208 degrees finally !
How long til they make a boring and overpriced fully automatic pour-over? Also, Gail...you and that brewer should get a room! ;)
Just returned it. Makes no difference comparing to my old Cuisineart 12 cup classic brewer. Well, except for the fancy look...
thats sad
Let the guy talk for Pete's sake!
This machine has not even been released here in Australia yet 😢😢😢😢😢😢 I wants it now 😠😠😠likely to sell at $400 AUD uuuuurgh 😢😢😢😢
Fair play to you.
I thought 4'45 to decide which coffee tasted best was a bit much, but 16 minute review of a coffee machine?
It's not Gail's fault (don't accuse me of throwing shade at Gail!) but you do need to edit your raw footage before you upload it.
16 MINUTES!
Sorry I like Gail but let the man talk
engalvan She definitely has a crush on him. She looks nervous and mumbling nonsense..."a box with a ring??"
I totally agree. Let the expert talk!
She was more blabby than usual here.
I wonder if they “did it”?
Sorry, did I misunderstand when he said it'll brew a rich coffee for iced over a 10 hour period or what?
Nope! You heard it right. Cold Brew coffee is brewed over a longer period of time, as temperature speeds up the process exponentially. By brewing at the 4 to 1 ratio that Phil recommends, you get an incredibly smooth and concentrated cup of cold brew coffee. This guy needs coffee. A through review but 16 mins lol
For the money this shouldn't be hot water going through plastic!! The basket is plastic, the top is plastic, the hole is plastic.... :(
Gold mode is misleading. Even Gail was confused. They should call it something else.
This thing is garbage. Fake hot plate, the temp is NOT 195-205 (temp was 165 with digital thermo), I returned mine. Do yourself a favor and just buy the Technivorm Moccamaster.

The temps you referred to are the brewing temps, not the final coffee temp.
0:48 to see old people flirting. and again at 1:38 and 12:21
So when will you take my money?
It's looking like the first week of September! 😎
Great video, but cannot unsee his back hair sticking out of his shirt. Eeuurrggghh.
I think you need a college education to run this coffee maker
Too complicated and too many frills that you don't need. I keep my Technivorm- thank you!
They add in all these bells and whistles and lacks the ability to simply fill the tank to the max and simply choose a volume on the machine Instead of having to manually pour in and dose the water every time.
That's extremely stupid
Doing everything is the same as doing nothing. Love Breville, but this way too much tech.
You guys need an editor and possibly a script. I understand the geeking over cool tech but come on Gail... You can enjoy the machine after you shoot the video.
Sush! Don't tell them that, they don't like it.
16 BLOODY MINUTES TO REVIEW A COFFEE MACHINE!
two grey pigeons , brother and sister nearly talking coffee .. how else can you spent your time on the net
You'll be old too someday buddy. Most likely you won't be pretty but hopefully you'll have something to share and ways to keep active other than making fun of older people,...and remember- what goes around comes around. Try being kind.
