Brian, so glad you are the one reporting on this horror. You always have a kind, respectful way of interviewing people regardless of the situation. You allow the people to speak and tell their story without the interruptions. Just allow them to speak. Thank you. Be safe.
It’s really disheartening to see so many people have such vitriolic comments towards these people and their property. They are suffering a loss that is unimaginable, with no time to prepare. Have some compassion..
ever wonder how those people made their money in the first place? by screwing over all the people they can and taking thier resouces. its a zero sum game.
The reaction might be to the person they interviewed. She might be in shock due to the significant loss but so much emphasis on “someone of stature building the house, her renovations, and cost of homes in her area”. The true story here is that she is alive to breathe and still has her neighbors and friends alive as well. Truly tragic for everyone who lost their homes.
I lost everything in an apartment complex fire in 2012 and its a loss that is just soo hard to endure. Yes these people will hopefully rebuild and they will start a new chapter of their lives, but the scars will always run deep. 13 years on and anything to do with fire and flames triggers me! My prayers are with all affected.
To all those rich people... Welcome to America. To all the middle class families in those areas. We send our love. To all the people barely making it, we are here for you.
What a jerk thing to say. As if being rich makes one unfamiliar with struggle in some general sense. As if they don’t have a right to the money they’ve earned through planning and hard work they’ve likely done or their parents have done.
@@echo-trip-1 remember that if you went up to their door and asked for a bottle of water 3 days ago. They would probably call the cops on you. Or think of you as a poor person and laugh at you.
@@Newperson-x4q - I think i was too quick to react with offense to your post. I’m just tired of seeing comments where people are treating the wealthy fire victims as if they deserve it. As if they’re bad people for being rich. That’s unfair. Some of them grew up without money but found success in business or the film industry and then moved to a nice neighborhood. Some had rich parents but still appreciated what they had. They’re not all bad people. We’re all humans. Meanwhile, your comment is valid because you’re not dehumanizing them or saying they deserved to lose their homes. You just said Welcome to America. It’s a hard fact.
Steel beams melted, but trees still standing. That should tell you something. If you look in behind them as they're talking, there's also grass and bushes. The houses though.. completely incinerated to ash, even the concrete.
Most homes there are still a mil+. Hers was probably a couple mil at least. Most people who can afford a home in california aren't middle class lol. Would have made the decision to pack up and move to a cheaper state a long time ago if I owned real estate
This is terrible but this is not a middle-class neighborhood. These homes are multi million dollars homes. Still a terrible tragedy, no one deserves this hopelessness. Prayers to them all.
Canada helps out The province of Ontario is pitching in to help fight the devastating fires in the Los Angeles area. Premier Doug Ford says the province will send two waterbombers, 165 urban firefighters and an incident management team of up to 20 additional staff to California to assist their efforts in battling the devastating wildfires that have caused thousands of people to flee their homes. Ford called the scenes out of California “devastating,” adding Ontario will “spare no expense to help our closest friends and allies.”
I am trying to be better. Prayers to all. No one should have to live through such devastation. I will say the leftist were cruel when hurricane Helene hit FL, SC, NC, and Tenn.. The comments were unforgivable. Thank God for Governor DeSantis he has worked miracles in Florida. Hopefully better days to come for all.

You know what makes a home beautiful, it’s typically the love of family not ceiling to floor glass windows or name dropping who built your house and how much it cost. I applaud and respect our true heroes, the brave firefighters.
Maybe you misunderstood the history and story behind it. The memories she has attached to those particular parts. They named their palm trees after their twin grandsons… there was 100% love in that house.
Sad. She close with neighbors. A lot of people wait for house, next door, change hand 3 time, before they have cool situation. And you have right and left and across street. This woman what you hope to see in clip. You know? California person. Cuz. She really cool. It pobably gonna be a year+, before party continue. She gonna find place. I doubt if someone like this burn all bridge with family. How those 2 tree make it? Maybe it a 'window in' as to how to 'trick' an unbeatable monster fire.
Sooo.. I wonder if anyone shed 😭 tears for the POOR victims of hurricane Helene.. They're still homeless but thanks to the Amish who are building tiny homes for now. I don't feel bad for any of these over privileged entitled RICH people. Inheritance babies It's time for these privileged people around the world to get a WAKE up call
Shame on you. These aren’t all rich people. Most of these people are middle-class by Southern California standards and many bought their homes 30-50 years ago.
How rude...these people arent millionaires they are hard working people! What a disgusting thing to say! Shame on you! I hope you never have to endure what these people are going through. I have walked the exact same road they are no on and its horrific!
It's not a contest. I sent money to church groups helping the Helene victims. I'm unemployed, and a hated old school indy Leftist. I have compassion enough for ALL victims of natural disasters, as I've survived hurricanes and house fires myself, and the losses of nearly all family members and friends. It's not a contest. Love, compassion, aid and comfort are what is needed now.
It is almost indefensible, but they will find a way. Imagine no water to fight fires in a tinderbox like that? Imagine not wanting to clear underbrush to help the situation. Imagine having a fire chief who thinks her job isn't about fighting fires but to wave the rainbow flag at a gay pride parade!!
Pleas tell me that this country has more than one Fire fighting airplane/helicopter. It is soooo sade that our country lets this happen when it could call in for back up from surrounding states😢😢😢 Now we'll have the insurance companies denying claims , but there sure ready too take your payments for year with no problem😢😢😢😢😢
She seems like a wonderful neighbor. She knows the neighborhood's history.

Did that woman just say “……..the fire was set Tuesday”?
What a strange turn of phrase
Yes, I thought the same thing. Very odd wording.
Not to mention " mrs Huntington mrs Huntington "
its just too obvious that this fire was intentional.
And she said they " created each other "? .....uh hu....

There is no middle class in California. Either your rich or your homeless or living in a van on the street.

Time for Californians to wake up and vote those incompetent Dems out.
hey... lets see what the insurance guys say eh.
Awful
they can always go to the $9million mansion that newsom just bought. or nancy pelosi’s $10 million home in sf.
Or one of their other mansions .. I'm sure this isn't their only home

Still asleep? Politicians are selected, not elected.
You do realize that Red States suck at emergency management too, right? Look at Western NC.
Sounds like North Carolina
President Potato head turned his back on NC. Let's see what he does for his liberal friends in Cali.
lets see Biden announce 300$ for all victims.
LA homeless problem? now everyone is homeless
