I love how 'Highland', 'Brannoch Castle', and 'Floating Monastery' share the same musical structure, but get progressively more distorted from one to the next. It's such a subtle way to communicate to the player the growing influence of Mammon's power.
Exactly, even when I was 11 I noticed the subtle changes in the music and I was like "Man, something terrible must be ahead because the theme while it sounds familiar it is getting more omnious"
At this point, the music went from dark to just plain evil, you're past the point of no return, but the backgrounds to some of the levels this theme played in(one in particular) was out of this world.
What I'd want, tbh, is a spiritual successor. I absolutely loved the idea for the battle movement system, but too much else about the game was bad for me to want a real sequel. Just make a totally new game and use the Quest 64 battle movement system, tweak the actual combat around, and maybe make a few other tweaks too.
It is very far from being a great game but it manages to rise above its flaws by virtue of its strengths. Like the music, the character design, and the environments.
If we can agree on one thing, this game was MASTERFUL at atmosphere
I played the game all the time specifically for the music

I'm glad you pointed that out. N64 was great with music, considering this was before the Era of spoken game dialog

@@scikoolaid ok but is that "dialog" or is it just short brief phrases
Hypnotic, delirious, psychotic, dizzying, disorienting, twisted, distorted, maddening, dissociating, hovering...

absolutely horrifying
nah.
Nah I've heard creepier, the type of creepy that makes you think things are running beneath your skin.
I mean, you have to know the context of the game to know why it's so eerie
I would run around for days leveling up
"You have entered the ethereal plane: Enjoy your confused stay."
Love it …. Hard game I beat it at 281HP
I really regret using the save point here. As far as I can tell, I’m permanently softlocked in the final area now.
Epona warned you there was no going back. Also, why did you only use one slate to keep saving?
@@AlexKnepper frankly I was on autopilot. The dialogue in this game is generally unimportant, so by the end I was half-reading text.
awesome boss music, hoping for a remake or sequel, wish gane was longer and or harder...too easy with magic barrier and healing...
I never used magic barrier because I did not know the combination of elements to do so. Healing was a god sent in dungeons that I give you much.

Search for the Hard Mod
I love the game and the ost but the quality is bad, even ingame lol
This game was terrible but I loved it and played the dog shit out of it.
Nah it was amazing I hate so many people sleep on ig
