This razor has been upgraded with an embedded magnet in the baseplate that will hold the blade in place to simplify loading or installing the blade. This eliminates difficulties loading the blade evident in the previous original model. First, a walk-around the box-then a description of the razor and then lathering up and shaving with it. Proraso and Taylor of Old Bond Street shaving creams are lathered together with the Simpsons Trafalgar T3 synthetic brush. This SoloEdge Razor uses one side of a double edge blade split in half, or you can purchase pre-split blades in 100 count packs at Shave Nation.

Glad Parker added the magnet, love the Franken lather Geo!
I got one. It gives and am happy with the shave. I do not think I will ever go to another razor. I will probably keep my fusion for travel till the blades are used up. I can not imagine a better shaving system.

Nice shave as always Geo and the SoloEdge did the trick no sweat. A "Super lather" is always fun to do, I have lots of super lathers because I don't get all the soap cleaned from my lather bowls, mix em up for next time😉 Great video and smooth results, thanks.

I purchased the SoloEdge directly from Super Safety Razors, when the they released them maybe a month ago. Now they come out with improved version with a magnet. I won't make that mistake again. I'll wait a few months b4 purchasing to insure i get the newest updated version..
Same with me, literally got it a few weeks ago and now I see this from Geo...I suspect the feedback about blade loading Parker got was anything but positive. Didn't take them long to understand it was a design flaw, and not the response I got from Super Safety Razor, which was: "The magnet is a very minor change and does not impact the shave." I have taken the razor out of my rotation, it's just too difficult to load the blade with my arthritis. What a waste. I'll stick with my Vector and Hawk3.

I just got one last week from somewhere else (sorry...) and I love the razor, but I haven't gotten a super shave from it yet. I have gotten acceptable shaves, but not like my 40s style super speed, and nothing like my straight razors (but what comes close to a straight?) I've tried the Parker blades, Feather, and Astra superior Platinum (old Russian stock,) with the astra being the best so far.

The IBC shavette is also magnetic, wish it was industry standard on every razor. It's soooo convenient to not have to fiddle the blades in place.
I hate when I rush to buy a razor and then they fix the issues with it 2 months after LOL

can you reccomend a good bay rum shave soap with a strong cinnamony smell? I like the scent of Dr. Squatch's and Duke Canon's Bay Rum body soap scents for an example of what I mean by "strong cinnamony smell"
Cool mashup of shaving creams! I do one with Castle Forbes Lavender and Lime essential oils, along with the matching balms. Have you ever did a video with a rose shave soap? Kinda wanted to know your thoughts on it before pulling the trigger

I still think they should have had a chrome or nickel plated finish option. Yeah, while they did add the magnet which was a pretty big thing, the satin finish on the razor (in my experience) slightly drags on the face at times, and I get better performance out of plated razors than anything. And for them to come out with a non-magnetic version and then turn around a month later and come out with this seems like people who got the first batch were slighted a bit. But anyway, this was a good shave, Geo. Thanks for the video!

I mixed two liquid soaps and washed my face before shaving.
