There are a lot of similar non-OP watchers/readers acting to the live action the same way. They cry when we cried, laugh when we laughed, got excited when we got excited. And they all want to read/watch the manga/anime afterwards.

Some characters in One Piece don’t need the Devil fruit, they are just *THAT* overpowered from natural skill and training. That includes Garp and Mihawk.
I mean Garp has the fist of love. So that is something :D

Garp was the rival to the King of the Pirates back in his time. He is just a badass who fights with his fists and doesn’t need a devil fruit.

Helmeppo standing up to Garp with Koby is my favourite moment in the entire show, they handled (and actually improved) Helmeppo's character arc so incredibly well
Also helps that his actor knocked it out of the park with his performance. Same for Zeff and Buggy btw.

That’s why to was made as a show for adults - it isn’t only children who need to have hope and role models who follow their dreams and behave as good, decent people, even when surrounded by villains. One Piece is an inspiration and balm for all our hearts.

Three things of note: 1. As other commentators will mention, Garp doesn’t have devil fruit powers, he’s that strong naturally, and probably could’ve soloed Arlong Park himself; likewise the training he put Luffy through made him that strong, the Gum-Gum fruit just made him stretchy on top of that. 2. Oda, the author, claims that he prefers leaving his villains alive because it’s worse to live to see their dreams crumble, so Arlong (if you can believe it) is alive in the manga but he will spend the rest of his life in a cage not because he’s a fishman but because he chose to be such a bastard. And 3. The tangerines aren’t just beautiful but functional, adding high citrus content fruit to your diet is how you prevent scurvy on the seas! (the British navy discovered this and supplied their ships with limes, it’s where the slang ‘limey’ comes from.)
For number one, it's not probably. We all know Garp can solo entire Arlong crew with only one punch. Not even try.

It's crazy to think that in 8 episodes, we only met 2 Devil Fruit users : Luffy and Buggy.

It's crazier that if the LA had Episode 9, we would meet another 3 new DF users with Smoker, Alvida and Dragon (unconfirmed) all in one area. Then DF users just kept increasing.
You forgot Chopper. He also has a devil fruit.
So we actually met with 3 eaters, though one was not yet established as such.
Putting those arcs together for this show will be the most difficult. But with the cast and production now, the rest should be smooth sailing (pun intended).
As you near the Grand Line, devil fruits become more common. As you near the New World, haki become more common.

the first season = 44 episode out of 1074, and one of this Live Action directors said that they have plans for 6 to 12 seasons in the future
and as a manga reader even if they manage to release those 12 season.. they will not be able to cover all of the story that still not finished yet!!!!!

Luffy did actualy broke Arlong's nose in the manga.
luffy is a rubber so he is only affected by sharp things or hotness "just like in our real life". Anything else, for example a few falling stones will not affect him.

You don't know how crazy Garp's strength is.. Compared to Arlong, Arlong is just baby fish for him. Don't ever underestimate an old man in Anime.

He has achieved 3 stages of Haki from what i had read about. Anyway, Haki means something ambitious, determine, courage, and glory or whatever that could unlock someone's inner power. After this season, i heard rumor that they are planning to make it 12 seasons of One Piece live action.
Just to clarify the Grandline Map they've been talking about this whole time is a map TO the Grandline not OF the Grandline. In other words the map just gets them to the entrance of the Grandline, it doesn't tell them anything about what's in it

This is not a spoiler, but the names of Sanji's kicks are references to different cuts of meat corresponding to the body part the kick hits. He's effectively "preparing" his opponent like he would a dish.
I personally like to think of it as intending to debilitate a specific part of the opponents body, strategically weakening them before finishing them off.

The creator had confirmed the season two. Also actually in the anime and manga the straw hats have a total of 10 members ( including Luff) but in the first season we only have met five, the next is going to appear in season two. Also you should check thw anime and its openings.

Arlong doesn't regenerate anything except his teeth. It's based on the fact that sharks continually lose and replace their teeth all the time.
Garp captured Roger, the King of the Pirates, who was said to be the strongest pirate ever, so Luffy stood no chance against Garp.
Also, if its not mentioned they have a Devil fruit they most likely do not have it. You'll know when someone has it. Its distinct and gives you unique abilities.

In just two weeks, Netflix already renewed this One Piece live action for season 2. It's crazy how fast it is, other shows can take months but One Piece is just too good. It might take a while but we are getting season 2

They renewed this one faster than they canceled Cowboy Bebop (which was made by the same studio, ironically.)

I feel like with time, Oda now realizes where he wants Garp’s arc to end, and he’s using the beginning of the Live Action to tease that for people; because to me, it seems like in the very end he may hand his job over to Koby, and become the last member of the Straw Hats. He values his freedom, he loves his grandson too much to put a stop to him, and over time an old man needs to settle down and go along with the young man’s way. I have no further knowledge of the series outside the live action, so its a wild theory but I think it would be a great ending to him and Luffy’s relationship to sail off together hand in hand rather than enemies
garp is the 2nd highest rank in the navy, u will be overwhelmed by the power gaps as the story goes on.

Garp is literally tens of thousands of times stronger than Arlong. There was never any beating him at this point. He could have turned that whole village into a crater if he'd been serious.

Just so you know what you're getting yourselves into, the anime is 1070 episodes. The filler, which is notorious for long anime like this to take up a good third to half isn't there. It's about 98 episodes of filler. The show is about 98% actual content from the Manga. It is a huge investment in time and the books I think there's like 128 total. It's a big show. This is only the very beginning. There is a lot. A lot a lot.
Grandpa didn't eat a devil fruit. The show just doesn't explain that there are very powerful people in the one piece universe without any devil fruits power. For example Shanks in one of the strongest characters in One Piece but he didn't eat any fruit.
That's not a Botox joke! :D It's just that they are trying to match the original appearances of the merfolk and you need to understand, in this anime there's a ton of over-exaggerated and ridiculous stuff that make no sense. It's all about character, spirit and will power! And there's usually a ton of drama too.

So about Garp's strength: Author Oda-san really disliked that many young Japanese were kinda looking down on older people so in his world people can stay strong until a very high age. Garp was definitely a whole other beast 30 years ago but he is still without a doubt in the top 10 strongest people the navy has to offer.
And no, it's not the end, Netflix has renewed the show for season two a couple days ago. ❤ The producers already said that they would like to do at least 6 seasons but would have material for 12 seasons or more. 😅
In fact the show broke the record of 'Wednesday' and 'Stranger Things' who were both on #1 in 83 countries while One Piece was #1 in 86 countries. 🎉
Roger was executed 22 years ago and Luffy is 17. As for Koby, his dream of being a Marine and helping people will mean nothing if he joins a pirate. Remember, most pirates kill and steal like Arlong and Kuro, Luffy and Shanks are rare and Marines are technically the good guys. Their journey is just getting started and they have a lot ahead before they find the One Piece. This season finishes at Volume 11 of the manga and Season 2 is confirmed and they are making plans for Seasons 3-6 and are aiming to make 12 seasons.
