Good morning friend, your video is very good, the tool is very well done... total whim! Does it make a difference to use a pcv ring in the middle of the inductor? Hug from Brazil.
Cool video. Thanks for sharing. I think if I get into winding my own I'll try to come up with a 3d printed gadget for it. I like your impregnation and sip tie method though.
That's sure fine metal-work. For an optimized induction-coil, the size of the hole, the wideness and the highness of the windings should be about the same, to minimize the length of the copper-wire and with it the resistant of the inductor-coil. So you'd need for every value of the inductor a different sized metal-thingy. And yes, this is a smart-ass speaking.
optimization is profitable in the case of large quantity production, but to manufacture a coil that I need with a few centimeters more it does not cause me a problem, the important thing is to manufacture it. With these machined parts I can manufacture any coil for my speakers and it does not matter to optimize either the length of the cable and resistance. In any case this video is intended for amateurs not professionals.
Impresionante trabajo, me gusta la simplicidad con la que logro una herramienta tan útil. Pregunta: sería posible que me pase los planos para enviarlos al taller de tornería para que me fabriquen una igual ? Atte. Damián Cruz
I have a question, typically, each layer should be wound in the same direction. This means if you start winding the first layer from left to right, you should also wind the second layer (and any subsequent layers) from left to right. But from your video 1. from left to right, then right to left. which is right?
Very Nice Pls fabricade 1 voice coil for speakers p.a 15 ichs 350/600w rms is doble impedance 8Ω/8Ω but i like more use in 4 Ω Fabricate 1 voic coil for me plss u no use nucleo Ferrite? Etc? For bass nucle air is good?
It's a special varnish for coil making, the function is that like a glue and it supports heating. More than it stops wire's vibration and makes more space between wires.
Hello, the current supported by a coil depends on the section of the wire used, you'll find several tables on the Internet which show the current supported by wires.
Hello, you can make them by 3d printer, or in wood, you can make any dimensions / diameters, the important thing is to enter the dimensions of your part in the calculator.
I have made spools from PVC pipe. End flange from thin PVC flatten with a heat gun. PVC solvent glue first than add PU constructional adhesive for inner radii.
Or, instead of cutting, grab the zip-tie very closely to the end while rotating the pliers in a circular motion. The result is a clean break and no sharp edge.

yes no problem for pvc, you just have to avoid metals which can increase the inductance.
You welcome 🥰
Are you kidding!!outstanding videos brother, thank you.
Thank you my friend, it really took me a lot of time.
like ribbon speaker video, i want to make something special.
Very impressive and detailed tutorial thanks for sharing
Thank you 👍
Very informative...thanks ❤

this video took me a lounge time to make it, i hope you love it 🥰🥰🥰

Very nice, thanks for sharing! What is the LCR meter you use to measure coil inductance?
Hello, it's a china LCR meter called: T4 mega328.
It's very cheap but very convenient specially for audio amateurs 😉
Can we make the same measurements with a standard digital multi meter?
Xin chào, bạn đang dùng phần mềm tính số vòng cuộn dây nào
nice video but there is a problem. does the raw material of the wire to be used matter? does using copper or aluminum change the values?
is there a specific kind of varnish to use or I can just use varnish for furnitures.. thanks
Best videos for audio work

great app thanks to the engineer making this
Very nice tutorial!!! Can you give me data for 2.1mh gauge 20 and gauge 24.also. 35 mh gauge 24.thanks
There is a 1.5 copper wire, how many turns are needed for 1.2 induction for a 16 ohm HF speaker? Thank you .
Thanks for taking your time to share this video, very great innovation and diy friendly , thanks again and be blessed for your effort and kind heart
Thank you for much for your great words, you welcome 🥰🙏

Like any other coil :
If First layer .... left to right
Second layer....right to left
Third layer....left to right

Hello.. how can you test inductor MH with multimeter.. ?
I need 1.5 mh and 2.7 mh for crossover. Please tell me no. Of turns w/ gauge 20 wire
Very Nice

Very good video. Just struggling to find the 3nd layer
🤣👍👍👍don't leave any space between the turns and everything is fine, each layer should be tight.
Good luck 👍👍👍
Well done 👍👍
Thank you 🥰
You welcome 👍
hi friend. what is the function of putting the varnish?
It's a special varnish for coil making, the function is that like a glue and it supports heating.

@@homemade_audio ooouhh noted ,tq information and the good explain
Can i buy this milled parts from you ?
How to decide the amps? for example i need an inductor for 10amp capacity, what should i do?
Hello, the current supported by a coil depends on the section of the wire used, you'll find several tables on the Internet which show the current supported by wires.
Yeah the thicker the wire the higher the amps it can manage.
So what if i don't have access to a lathe? Can I get some sort of jig somewhere?
Hello, you can make them by 3d printer, or in wood, you can make any dimensions / diameters, the important thing is to enter the dimensions of your part in the calculator.
@@homemade_audio Thanks a bunch!
@@jayweb702 Use a stick on a drill with a bobbin on each end. Some vids available on youtube

Merci beaucoup pour votre commentaire 🙏🙏🙏
ça me fait plaisir 🥰🥰🥰
What do you use as varnish?
Hello, it's a fast dry insulation varnish.
mantap
🙏🙏🙏
Hi
What happens if we don't use varnish and dont alaign the turns perfectly but still have the proper inductance.?
Nothing, inductance is important, not design.
Brilliant, thanks!
You welcome 🙏
Nice

Why not wind onto a plastic bobbin?
Does anybody know of coil design software for Mac?
Software name
It’s in the description
ummmmm... why the drill?
you have... a lathe?
if you see 0.341 ohm in the calculator. 1.1 ohm comes out in the coil, the resistor is not straight. 🤔
If you will cut the ends of the plastic ties flush with toenail clippers they won't be sharp and will not cut you .
😁 precision tool 😉
