definitely they should be wearing protective masks and gloves, in a well ventilated workplace- cutting corners on safety. I guess some of the immersions are diluted acid baths
It is Venkateshwara he doesnt have gada or padma. Other Vishnu murthis may have it, but specifically Venkateshwara swaroopa does not have anything besides shankha and chakra.
