  • 10 days alone Backpacking & Hiking Norway & Sweden, Wild Camping in Femundsmarka National Park Pt1|The Grand Scandinavian Hiking & Backpacking Tour Ep2
Here is episode 2 of the Grand Scandinavian Hiking & Backpacking Tour|Norway|Sweden|Sarek|Lofoten|Rapadalen|Kungsleden|Jotunheimen|Breheimen Glacier Home National Park|Rondane|Lofoten|Climbing Galdhøpiggen|STF|DNT|Vandring
This is the first backpacking trip of this first season of TGSHBT, and it is Part 1 of 3 of the 10 day Femundsmarka National Park backpacking trip on the border with Sweden. I start from Elgå and go up Sagbekkdalen/Saw Creek Valley, over to Revlingsjøan/Revling Lakes, cross the neck of Stor Svuku and go over to Kratltjønnan/Shrubbery Tarns, go off trail through bear territory past Voltjønnan and Midtrøsttjønnan and follow Sorfisktjønnan/Big Fish Tarns to Litlbuddhåen, strange names and hard to translate some of them. Femundsmarka is a pretty hard place to travel through once you reach the endless boulder plains where its bushwacking and climbing over huge boulders unless you are on trail. This is a very wild area and has a good population of bears and a huge population of reindeer. This was my first time in Femundsmarka and it ended up being an incredible beautiful trip!

Can you spot the tiny reindeer kid? This is the video for the 10 day Femundsmarka NP and Rogen backpacking trip in Norway and Sweden, the first real backpacking video from the 25 episode "Grand Scandinavian Hiking & Backpacking Tour 2021". I am so excited to finally show the world this amazing summer of backpacking. I had a couple of herds of reindeer visit in my camp and they started fighting over food right by my tent…quite the experience! An epic 10 day trip and the start of the best summer of my life!

Stony fields, green meadows, rustling creeks, clouded blue skies, a multitude of lakes in which the scenery is reflected, hills and mountains, trees and grasses.... The kingdom of the reindeer .... I mainly enjoyed the quietness and peacefulness of this unspoilt nature. An exquisite and colourful 'Overture' of your "Scandinavian Symphony". I've great expectations about the next parts ! Thank you, Jarl ! And from here, in Flanders, I wish you many beautiful mornings and surprizing encounters on your trips in your magnificent homeland.

What a bummer that the fish didn’t bite…but the vibrant colors, caging landscape and the fantastic camp sites must have been a mild compensation for that miss!
…and luckily your trails haven’t been like the JMT…you wouldn’t have enjoyed and traded in the dry and hot conditions of this summer!
