Well done team , the cattle were presented so well, its had to beat that topping the market , you deserve to be rightfully proud !. Brilliant podcast with Cammy and Iona.
To be honest, I sensed you where very proud of Oliver on the podcast, he was brilliant and here in Ireland we would say about people who can sometimes be seen as quiet that ' If you burned him for a fool you would have wise ashes '.
Having been on holiday recently I have really enjoyed catching up on your recent videos 😍 I started watching and then subscribed to your channel after watching Cammy visit your farm to scan your sheep. Loved your podcast with him. Brilliant !
Ive been critical of Oliver before, UNTIL I watched the pod cast! I apologize sincerely to Oliver. I will be buying a shirt that says “I’m happy being miserable” 😂! 🙏🏻 I really enjoy your videos Sam!
Hi sam.i taught ye got on bad at the mart.them cattle were worth more for sure.serious quality.u got a fair good price for the cull cow.weanlings are making more money here in ireland.the quality of cattle on display was class.
@brendannaughton1996 Yes, I thought that, really. Last year, we had similar types for up to 1350. So yeh, maybe it was our position in the ballot.!? That won't have helped. As you noticed, prices got dearer. 🤣🙄
@@Sam-shuttfarming can U not re run Ur animals again at that mart.sometimes U could get more and other times U might not.yes I seen how the prices moved up.if they were my cattle I would have taken them home and tried in the mart again in a 2 weeks time.i honestly think ye lost out on them cattle.
We buy weaned beef calves for around £400 pounds, or sometimes 15 months for not much more, were prices up this year. We sold 2.5 year old heifers to the butcher/processor for $1400 NZ in our autumn.
Hi Sam, could you explain what Oliver said about the genotyping of swaddle Sheep with the scrape and how it bread the toughness out of the Sheep if I’m correct? Or if he wanted to explain it in another episode, I’m very interested in that as we are using it in the west of Ireland at the moment for genotyping our blackface mountain sheep 👊
I would be interested in listening to that from Oliver in another episode too. Since watching the podcast, I understand now what you mean when you say ‘I will leave that to Oliver, he knows what he’s doing’. And I realise now that he’s happy being miserable 😂😂
The channel has definitely benefitted from the visit to Ayreshire. I think I know why Jimbob prefers sheep, something to do with being part of the action in the ring.
Hi sam still loveing all your content you are amazing hard working mother and fantastic mammy to your baby keep up the good work what the name of the song you play I love the words x
Of course Oliver isn’t happy but he’s happy being miserable! In fairness they were bloody good cattle and they made good money but they would need to it isn’t cheap to get them to that stage! Can’t complain about getting 2 quid a kg for a cull cow either and you’d buy a nice replacement heifer for what she made. Regards from Ireland oh by the way I really enjoyed your interview with the Scots, at least I didn’t have to replay any of it to try and figure out what was being said.
i sometimes wonder if it's wise to sell cattle when it's a show and sale cos there's always the very best cattle there in those sales and it makes everyone else's look 'average' if you know what i mean . but still good money for the stirks. Looks like barren cows are selling well which is good cos i got one going to market next week . saw your podcast........you both came accross as very interesting people.........just wish cammy didn't talk quite so much
@geraldbeard856 Yes I no exactly what you mean! Was a risk but he wanted to take them so we did. Like I said we might of got 100 ish more if we were later on as prices crept up a little. Thankyou! We could of said loads more and I hardly got a chance to speak 🤣🤣 but glad oliver said what he wanted to.

Cows with bad backs, can’t stand up
