A Coleman tent is usually a solid bombproof thing especially for a beginner.. I got a ‘so-called 4 person’ tent from them when I needed new kit post divorce.. it’s going strong years later and I’ve had zero issues.. I’ve graduated to the hammock instead of the tent lately, but when I bring the kid(s) camping or someone else along they use the Coleman.. I’m rather notorious for being extra careful about rain, so when I’ve had the tent up for the kids at the campground for over a week in one spot, I’ve put additional coverage on the tent, either a bigger tarp over the top of the whole area for extra rain-free space.. or put one of those big plastic painting drop cloths over the entire tent if I know some serious rain is coming.. ..mostly because nothing is worse than a bored kid, stuck in the tent after 3 straight days of rain and water getting IN the tent 😝😝😝lol But.. we went with 4 straight days of just dumping buckets of rain and that Coleman did not disappoint 👍 I got nothing but love for that thing.. it’s a hideous color and not exactly ‘small’ when packed, but it’s tough 💪 lol

Dearest Hazey. I just wanted to thank you for keeping your content inside 'Lockdown Guidelines'. We are all gagging to get out and spend the night under canvas and unlike other UK outdoor UA-camrs you are doing it right. No overnighting anywhere and 'staying at home'. Well done you are a hero and a role model.

Because of lockdowns I have been looking for something I could do while staying away from people (people were afraid to meet) and yet enjoy doing it, and lo and behold! First it was an American and Canadian vloggers'/youtubers' channels that were popping up having fun while wild camping... then after a week or so, I began to think how about UK, and then I was finding more and more people doing it, even though the Law in England is quite a grey area but thanks to the Channels like yours and other UK "wild campers" I did not hesitate and the next payment I have got, I spent £340 (so £100 more than you have shown here), I really did not follow anyone's advice, I simply just took a risk of trying to find what would suit me, few weeks later, I have got all I needed, and I have done my first SOLO wild camping on 1st of January 2021 (That was my new year's resolution) and I did it. Only if I knew this was popular around the world and if I could find channels like yours, I would Star doing it long time ago. My first was a bit "scary" as I was never sorrounded by a wild animals making noises, foxes, deers, etc... but after that night I was like, this is it, and on my next trip I spent 3 nights at Surrey Hills. That was awesome experience, I want to be back there, I am also dreaming of wild camping with other people but solo camping is as enjoyable as if doing it with a group. When you do solo camp, you choose your own timing and places to camp or/and visit... As a group it is of course important to make mutual decision where to stay, how far to walk, etc. People like you and other vloggers/youtubers had changed my life for better, at first my family was laughing at me that I am joking (so did they think in the past when I got my dreadlocks - not anymore though), you feel this freedom, spending time with nature, going to sleep and waking up in a beautiful spots, enjoying morning sunrise or snowfall, or some rain taping on the tent, etc. I don't think I will ever be able to stop wild camping, once done, I fell in love! I have only 1 advice to the people who are thinking of wild camping. PLEASE CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF AND DO NOT LEAVE ANY RUBBISH! Because of the past and even now, some wild campers are a disgrace to "wild camping" family, I have seen so much rubbish while walking in the woods: half buried, damaged tents, plastic, glass bottles, plastic containers, plastic bags with rubbish. Then other people think of us that we are all like that. I even took additional rubbish bag to grab some rubbish on the way back to my car. Enjoy your wild camping but be responsible for your rubbish.
Never really thought about my first setup but looking back I've realised I have 2 or 3 of most things, think I might put together a bag of the stuff I don't use and give it to a friend! Inspired 👌

Just recently found your channel and working my way thru your vids. So happy I found this one. This Coleman tent was my favourite tent for a long time. Used to use this tent for all my festivals when I was a bit younger and still own it to this date. A little heavy for the hiking camping idea but for anyone maybe just finding this video is totally recommend this tent !
Top man mr Haze. As part of my work, we take groups of teens camping and doing outdoor education, including kayak camping round the inner Hebrides and the lakes. We were on the look out for some new kit to become more “covid secure”as some of the tents are past their best and we need more stoves. Hey Mr Haze ... just dropping a message of appreciation for your content. Your videos and reviews have been really helpful but to a future newbie, I have mainly loved just watching you on ur adventures you’ve had me in stitches and so inspiring! With the help of your channel and ur enthusiasm I have taken the first steps to begin my new adventure of wild camping. Liked and shared- I know someone who could use this kit - We are planning a camping trip this year with a group of lads from ex- St Edwards fell walking team/ ex boxers . We used to do a lot of walks for charity in the early 1970's. We have climbed most of the hills in the Lake District, Cheviots, and walked the Pennine way as well as the Lyke Wake Walk(forgive the spelling) This bit of kit would be ideal for someone who would like to go but who is struggling financially. Cheers Haze- Great Vlog.
Haven't been out camping since I left the army some 28 years ago and I'm 61 this year. I've got some kit but the kit you show is better than the items i've got that match, except for the knife. Atb Malcolm
Nice one hazy, hit the nail on the head, it’s not about who’s dripping in brands, it’s about getting out there and enjoying, what a belting price for someone 👍
Hi I’m 21 and have never done a wild camp but found your channel during lockdown. Great video cheers, will be doing my first one in 2 weeks and this really helped
I've got that tent and it's served me well on many trips. Always carry my Mora with me when I'm venturing out on a camp. Great selection of quality affordable gear. Love that you are giving a bit back to the potential camper. Well done mate and the greatest respect. Keep safe y'all 🙏❤✌xx
Nice i got the Darwin 3 in August been itching to use it my kit is cheap like that Lidl’s Vango stainless pot kit & compass just need a bag and sleep bag building up for summer. Yes I’m summer softy i can’t cope being cold or wet no winter or wet gear just Berghaus Mac 👍👍🖖🖖
Hazey, Great advice for a starter kit. Lets hope somebody starting off ,really benefits from all your hard work. My ex wife banned me from purchasing any more tents years ago. Since we split up , I have a fabulous collection of tents ! M
Don't know if they're sold over there but for 5-10 bucks more can get a Princeton Tec Vizz. Which is an amazing headlamp. Plus you can use it for other things. PS what a nice man you are doing a give away. You big softy.

52 and not a fan of camping mostly because I can't stand other people and their noise but I've bought myself a piece of land in Bulgaria and I've purchased myself the Darwin 2, so I hope I don't regret it. But a great video for a newbie. Lost me with the bottom cup cooking thing though 🤔🤔🤔
I love your accent 🇦🇺have to relisten sometimes haha but wrote all this down. I wonder if you add a tarp and paracord you could have options for a hanging out shelter too. Getting up the courage to go out & just do it 😀thank you for your research!

Cheers Haze- Great Vlog.
Excellent give away very generous Mr Haze, i have the Colman Darwin 2 and used it in some good and bad weather, it's a decent tent.
OMG I need that saw in my life!! lol. You've got me binge-watching all your vids! Thank you so much for the inspiration
Haven't been out camping since I left the army some 28 years ago and I'm 61 this year. I've got some kit but the kit you show is better than the items i've got that match, except for the knife. Atb Malcolm
I love camping and I would use it! First wild camping.
Nice one hazy, hit the nail on the head, it’s not about who’s dripping in brands, it’s about getting out there and enjoying, what a belting price for someone 👍
Great vid. Agree, that bag is great for the price and better than many overpriced brands. Just a nice design all round.
Hi I’m 21 and have never done a wild camp but found your channel during lockdown. Great video cheers, will be doing my first one in 2 weeks and this really helped
That tent is the Mutts Nutts. I bought one of those at least 10 years ago and I have abused it! Never let me down even in severe storms on the Brecons
Knight hood for Hazy.Good on you for giving this away.
Haze this is an absolutely mega video..really informative and fun to watch, keep up thr good work brother
Very nice kit. The only thing I would change is I would get like ten bic lighters in zip lock bags instead of the firesteel.
Top advice and beginners gear. That saw looks the business.
your a good man. Let's hope the best beginner wins
It doesn't usually happen that way, unfortunately 🥴

I have the same sleeping mat, I also got the pumpsack for it which doubles up as dry bag.
That trekology matt is Bob on....I used it in -3 and I was sound..👌
I had that tent i loved it it kept 2 days of heavy rain out !
💚 A generous heart is always full 💚
Hazey, Great advice for a starter kit. Lets hope somebody starting off ,really benefits from all your hard work. My ex wife banned me from purchasing any more tents years ago. Since we split up , I have a fabulous collection of tents ! M
Don't know if they're sold over there but for 5-10 bucks more can get a Princeton Tec Vizz. Which is an amazing headlamp. Plus you can use it for other things. PS what a nice man you are doing a give away. You big softy.

Fair play pal, absolute gentleman doing that for a first timer! All the best 🙏👍
Wish you’d done this last year. Just started wild camping last summer. Someone gonna win a great prize! Good luck guys.
Love your videos. We are always out with our daughter, and we've learnt so much from you. Also you never fail to make me laugh, and learn. Keep them coming.
coleman is the most popular brand in australia. its not the best of the best but value for money its really good.
For a good starter its really good.
Thank you for doing this Mr H. Outdoors. I hope the winner has many a great adventure with this kit.
Absolute top bloke.
Very nice gift to get someone out and about! And very nice selections! ATB!
Thank you from a active 75 year old grandmother😊
Hello from Pennsylvania in the states. A brewery in Boston Ma. Has made a Samual Adam’s Wicked Haze IPA!! Your famous 😎😎
good on you
Well done to show a good beginner set of kit
Practicing what you preach
Nice gesture sir. Would be amazing if you raffled a wild trip with your good self. I'd pay for that. Stay safe and happy bro. x
Wish I was starting my wild camping life just so I could enter lol.. good luck folks..
Kit in the UK is so much more affordable than in Canada. We lived in Derby 7 years ago. I still have the best hiking boots.
I love your accent 🇦🇺have to relisten sometimes haha but wrote all this down. I wonder if you add a tarp and paracord you could have options for a hanging out shelter too. Getting up the courage to go out & just do it 😀thank you for your research!
That is one well thought out beginners kit. Well done Hazy. Some lucky lad or lady will be very happy with that kit. Cheers Hazy
I bought the Trekokogy UL-80 sleepmat a few weeks ago and it is the bizzo!!
I like the look of the backpack and sleeping bag and I've used Coleman tents in the past and they are very good.
Thank you for taking the time to do this for somebody. Top marks Hazey👍
Great idea mate, hope everyone is gracious and let's a new camper have it.
That's a really nice thing to do for someone. I volunteer at a scout group, and i know anyone of that age or anyone just starting out will be over the moon with that gear. Thank you haze you legend.
Thank you for your sincerity with your video
