Arrow Video definitely goes above and beyond for there fans I love that I've been disappointed with Shout Factory they used to do combo packs and they stopped that they don't do reversible artwork anymore I really liked the artist artwork they used to do instead of the poster art I picked up the limited edition Blu-ray sets because I don't have a 4K player and just the regular Blu-ray picture looked great I didn't get to watch the extras on Conan The Barbarian but I did watch some of the ones on Conan The Destroyer I didn't realize that some of the Italian filmmakers worked on that the guy who worked on King Kong did the creature which was fantastic I do prefer the original over Destroyer the soundtrack is amazing and the story is great plus James Earl Jones is great as the villain I picked the Blu-ray's up at the store but I payed more forty bucks a piece which was a little too much but I want to support the small store besides Amazon they only had one of each movie left but the presentation is awesome from Arrow with the booklet and posters with the lobby cards like you said they give there fans options which I love
I told you this will be in the top five of 2024 ... Conan the Barbarian is a stellar transfer with three different versions of the film and more extras and new extras I've ever seen on the boutique label... Arrow is still number one...
I also want to point out that you get 3 versions of Conan the Barbarian, theatrical/international/extended and for the 4K Arrow finally fixed the audio issues from the last blu ray release that was missing the choir during the opening attack on the village and the beach scene with Conan. Arrow also gave us both the Atmos and original mono as audio options for both films, something that major studios fail to do a lot of the time. I myself think Barbarian is far superior to Destroyer but Destroyer is still a pretty good movie in its own right and the PG rating on that movie is a total joke lol, it's still pretty damn violent/bloody and non-PC as you can get. The Barbarian is closer to the Savage Sword of Conan comic magazine from the 70's that went for a more mature audience with all the nudity and graphic violence, opposite of what the standard Marvel comics Conan series did. Also, my box set was delayed as well.
I bought this set off of Amazon and it’s beautiful. An early blu ray release of the year and it was only $40! I’ve always loved Destroyer and the unofficial third Conan movie, Red Sonja, but Barbarian is an all time classic!
Best LE chunky box set in my Arrow LE collection ... I'm my opinion the best and my favorite out of the twenty plus I have. Their the only ones that have the movie logo on the top side of the chunky box..... pretty cool and I'm so glad I bought these and learned two years ago when a LE box gets announced ftom Arrow, pre order immediately. I missed out on the Donnie Darko Le box and now it's over 100.00 and rising.....
The Conan the Barbarian is far superior to the Destroyer. And one thing I would like to add is the soundtrack by Basil Poledouris. Absolutely masterful.
Oh yeah, one more thing CHH ... I love that you are doing all types of movies now, and with the way you deliver your reviews, I always look forward to watching them daily. Still need to check mine out. I have a stack of stuff that I haven't had a chance to watch yet. I got the seperate boxes Arrow released. I'm glad they did cause I'm not a fan of sticking multiple movies into one set unless it's something like those Kung Fu films they do.

So the 4k box limited style sets are sold out. BUT if you’re fine with the blu ray versions which are still 4k scans order those NOW! Cause when the 4k versions of these come back it will not be in the nice box sets anymore

I have mixed feelings on both. Barbarian is a better made movie, but Destroyer is a better Conan movie. Both slightly miss the mark of Howard's original stories for different reasons. Nevertheless, Arrow has given us a phenomenal release.

I bought them on seperatly with each having their own black chunky box and I tried to order an extra of each last week, and their sold out everywhere, and I contacted Arrow which they told me that the basic blu ray LE boxes are still available, but totally sold out in 4k, but they also stated that their going g to re-release them on 4k in standard edition with no slip or Chunky box just the the movie in the black case.....
It's going to keep going upto 200.00 a piece in a month or so ... if your a big fan of these films like the Barbarian is in my top five films of all time and seen ut in the theatre first weekend it was released, so It's a big 4k rekease for me. If it's like thst for you and not just a new film for you, just buying to buy it and have never seen it then I wouldn't spend thst much either... On the flip side if I missed out and could buy it for 120.00 I'd jump on it being a fanatic on these films.... goid luck on getting ut
Yes, it's rated PG, but that was before they invented the PG-13 rating. Plus, I watched it recently and forgot there was a good amount of blood in it, I'm guessing the only reason it wasn't R was language and nudity, but the violence with blood is still there.

Which Shout 4k's don't come with a Blu? I thought they did do combo packs.

I love the set, but I prefer the Barbarian art, and would have liked to have that, or maybe a Frank Frazetta painting, as the Chronicles cover.
Perfect release. I do love Arrow. I'm just waiting for them to finish upgrading their horror backlog to 4K and start announcing new scary titles.
I just got my copy Wednesday and just watched the 1st movie and love it. I use to watch it when i was a kid as well
Gojira (1954) to Godzilla: Final Wars would have benefited from the Arrow Video treatment. Same for ANOES 1 to New Nightmare.

I swapped out the black 4K cases with arrow clear cases not sure why they didn’t do that. Awesome release! Both looked fantastic.

Deathstalker 2 is directed by Jim Wynorski and is a very humorous B movie lots of fun if that sort of thing does it for you.
