- A walk in Qimaria District in the old city of Damascus, on Saturday, April 8, 2023..
We started our walk from The Cathedral of Our Lady of the Dormition, after which we passed through many alleys of the Qaymariya neighborhood to end our walk at Qaymariya market, wich is famous for it's cafes and street food shops
جولة مشي في حي القمرية بمدينة دمشق القديمة ، يوم السبت 8 نيسان 2023 ..
نبدأ مسيرتنا من كاتدرائية سيدة النياح (كنيسة الزيتون)، لنمر بعدها بالعديد من أزقة حي القيمرية وننهي مشينا في سوق القيمرية الشهير بمقاهيه ومحلات بيع الأطعمة الشعبية.

Evet, bazı mahalleler hala Osmanlı yapısı özelliğini koruyor. Burada minarelerinin şeklinden camilerin ne zaman inşa edildiğini öğrenebilirsiniz. Eski camilerin minarelerinin çoğu Osmanlı veya Memlûktur.

Avez-vous des informations sur la Tekkiyé Sulaymaniyyéh et son marché d'artisanat ? J'ai vu des vidéos indiquant que ce marché faisant en même temps musée ethnographique des artisanats syriens aurait été fermé depuis quelques mois en raison de travaux rendus nécessaires par un affaissement de terrain ? Cela m'inquiète beaucoup.
Oui, malheureusement, les commerces du marché ont été évacués sous prétexte de l'expiration des contrats des locataires

He was a Jewish soldier sent by the Roman Emperor to Damascus in order to kill the first Christians. After that he was rescued by Saint Ananias and became a great saint and predicator. It is said that Saint Ananias helped him to escape from Romans soldiers who searched after him in a coffin during the night, a coffin which he suspended to a rope in order to flee during the night out of the fortifications of Damascus. This was above one of the gates of Damascus, in the south, where arrives the highway from the Airport. This gate has christian marks on it and was turned into a chapel... (scuse me, I forgot its name).
Yes, it is the straight street, I walked from Bab Sharqi area in the east and entered north towards Qimaria. If I had continued towards the west, I would have reached Bab al-Jabiyah, which forms the western part of the old city.

I'm from Germany and I have a question. Do you know if it's forbidden for foreigners to film in Syria, street, shops and people? Syrians are allowed to film, but foreigners probably are not, and my camera might be taken away from me. Maybe you have some information for me. I want to travel to Syria and will enjoy Syria, If I don't have a ban from the Syrians to visit this country.
But unfortunately, Germans have a bad impression of Syria because of the war. They say it's dangerous, unsafe, and that I'm crazy to go there. Everything is being talked down and it's being discouraged to travel to Syria. The media and press are to blame for this. There are no flights from Germany and hotel bookings are also not possible. It's as if Syria has disappeared from the map. I have a different opinion, and I think that I can travel safely to Syria. I want to experience and enjoy the wonderful culture

@@safartas thanks for the reply. I like your videos, i hope upload more videos. yes but maybe some don't like a camera and people get angry because a tourist is filming. I will see if tourists are welcome in syria and will see how they react when I come. I have to see how I can get a good hotel. No chance a booking from Germany
You will not find any inconvenience from anyone if you are filming, and if you want a good heritage hotel, you should go to Bab Touma or Bab Sharqi and choose one of its beautiful hotels.
Also people in Syria are taught to be extra generous with foreigners, but unfortunately, I can't expect much generosity in these hard times where the vast majority of the people are unemployed and live near poverty line.
