Eventually, he was able to get his mom back, but the experience was traumatic. Years later Stanley finally broke. He ran away from his life in his old Halloween costume, thinking that he needed to get money to get his mom back. After a few days Stanley remembered that he did get his mom back and he headed home. A few months later this happened again and again, he kept trying different ways to get the money while buying things he needed to stay alive. He’s cheated on his wife and had children all without realizing it. What’ll happen next to Stanley? No one knows.
I took the description of the scenario as the parents basically running away, lying and saying they got abducted, as a way of making the kids be better kids/work harder/etc.
It feels realistic to me, in the sense of a sibling taking care of their younger sibling because something happened to the parents, we need more realistic scenarios like this, without aliens 😂
I liked that the scenario has so much story, but you don't have pre-set relationships that are hard to fix, so many of the are based on two sims hating each other when the scenario is so story based!
I was playing this scenario, and did something with the mailbox (maybe “fill household needs” with mccc?) and it brought the mother back to the house with full needs… but kept the scenario going, so I have the mother to help with cooking and cleaning, while I actually play with the teenager and child 🤣
This scenario kinda reminds me of the big sister challenge that Kayak did back in the day, and ultimately just feels like a realistic scenario, minus the aliens part 😅😂
I was playing a sim today who had been bitten, had just turned into a werewolf and raced outside for my first enraged...and got abducted by aliens. I felt sooo sorry for those poor aliens, trapped on their ship for a couple hours with a brand-new werewolf feral-izing all over their high-tech home! XDDD

Yeah! I was shocked when I did it that none of my sims even had moodlets about it. Like come on I want to see the sims sad and/or scared their parents are gone, and then a big dramatic reunion! It felt so odd that they just. Came back one day like they had just been at work or something
I did this challenge! 15,000 is A LOT. Took me awhile. Ended up getting a roommate (which didn’t really help) and selling all of the stuff we didn’t really NEED to live 😂
My parent sim just so happened to be a story sim, so they had a job, and somehow managed to go to work despite being kidnapped by aliens, and I was given $206 every other day or so 😂
Both of my parents were story mode sims with jobs so I got double that 😂 was fun until the mum decided to actually come HOME from work and not back to the aliens 🙄

Pro tip: If you have city living, there’s a item that you can find in activities (I don’t know what it’s called) that sort of looks like a canvas, and you can hang up paintings in it and have a yard sale. At the yard sale, you can mark up the prices by 300% and make SO much money it’s a lifesaver
Yep, and the child can sell from it. I am thinking if you put the kid's aspiration as the social one, and have her greet everyone while selling paintings in yard sales you might hit two goals in one.
I like that you referred to doing this on short lifespan as the extreme version of the scenario. I don’t think I have even seen anyone do it on short lifespan (nor have I tried it), but I do think calling doing a scenario on short lifespan the extreme version is apt...especially scenarios that have a lot to be accomplished. I just finished this scenario so I can finally watch videos about it! My child sim had the social butterfly aspiration so they ended up talking to a bunch of random adult sims which made sense storywise but was slightly horrifying otherwise, especially because two were random adult sims who showed up at their front door when their older sibling was at work.
I played that scenario with a family of two parents, a teen and a kid. The aliens forgot one of the parents... Also, the kid got created with only 3 days before aging up, on medium life span☹ I used the social aspiration. Taking photos of random Sims is overpowered at building friendship. Also, I don't have tiny living. Get a yoga mad and have the kid practice yoga. It will build BOTH the mental and motor skills at the same time. Also, kids seems to like practising yoga.
I played this scenario when it first came out, I didn't want to cheat but I had the "bright" idea of doing it in an apartment. It practically removed all the usual ways of making quick bucks like tiny home, gardening, picking up collectibles, farming etc. We were constantly broke and fainting because the kids couldn't sleep due to the noisy neighbours, bed monsters (we were so broke we had to pick between monster light and food lmao), etc. I almost went insane but yeah, definitely a CHALLENGE. In the end I scrambled all the money we had, bought moodlet potions and had them travel to Selvadorada to dig up those 10k plates so we could make it to the money requirements.
I did it in an apartment and… I’m not sure if it was SUPPOSED to let me do this but from the apartment, I could see one of those city areas with easels and stuff, and other people would paint things, and it just… let me sell them. For a lot of money. It said +fame on the option so I did wonder if maybe it was like. Something that got messed up by the addition of get famous. But man I used that SO MUCH. Also sent the child around a couple times a day to snag posters off electrical boxes and check the free boxes (she found a piano keyboard in there once!) which was at least a bit of income. it took… a while for sure, but I did it before anyone aged up… I just had to change it to long lifespan when the kid was halfway to her birthday 😂
@@pancake2700 Stealing other Sims art and selling it as your own is a classic! If you have Get Together, you can start a club to get other Sims to paint for you, and then sell it personally. It's a good scam.
I found the creative aspiration to be the best one to complete quickly. Also, create a club for the siblings. Put homework, shower, painting, and whatever you are doing at the moment (it requires some switching around but it's worth it). Have the club going all the time. You'll get 500 club points before the end of Sunday. Then you can get 'rally the troops' which allows you to skip sleeping, eating and using the toilet altogether. Then get the inspired club auras after that to keep them inspired. Remember you can ask random adults that are wandering around to 'help with homework' and 'assist with project'. It helps them advance faster. You can get the trait that gets you more money for painted items for the teen (I had the teen on the painting aspiration for the points). My Sims got to 'b' student on Tuesday and 'a' on Thursday. Friday, I had them take vacation. The parents were back by end of day Friday. Oh, one thing, there was (maybe still is) a bug where if you save/quit while a club meeting is going, sims will be back from school/work when you return (even if it's not end of day) and it counts against them for leaving early. So, stop the meeting before quitting.
There's no challenge Stanley can't handle! This is the second of the new scenarios I'm now familiar with and I really like them. They're longer and a bit more challenging plus the storylines have been good. Let's not forget that you managed this on short lifespan. The only thing I'd change if I was continuing to play my game from this scenario is I'd like ransom money to go to get mom back. Either they should have included it or I'd just cheat it down to like 5k.
It took me 23 sim days to complete! lol it was so fun though, made the brother and sister not like each other at first but then they bonded together at the end 🥹 definitely going to do it again. Only drawback was a few glitches , like the mom showing back up, or when my teen sim DIED of starvation. Thankfully his sister pleaded for his life and saved him.
That was fun 😊! Would totally love to see Stacy again. Thank you for the tiny house tip, it made a huge difference when I was working on NSB Gen 5. Had her live in one for the better part of her YA years.

for the read with an adult part, I hired a nanny, added her to the household to read for the kid then removed her idk it made sense for the kid to be genius and making the teen read didn't work for me
The fact that the aliens never take the money when the mom returns, AND the fact that you don’t see the alien abduction animation (i know that comes with get to work, but still) makes me think that no aliens exist, the mom was just like “these kids suck. Lazy, bad grades, never help around the house, I’m gonna teach them a lesson hehehe” and lies about getting abducted but is really at a rental in Sulani just chillin.
I did this scenario the other day, and the day my sims completed the challenge and got their parents back, that night the teen died from trying to fix the ghost computer they found in the dumpster. I was devastated!!
I sent my teen to highschool and when we came back mom was back, but the scenario was still going...it was the weirdest thing. So annoying 😂 I couldn't finish the scenario

Idea for making sure visitors don't eat all your food: Put the fridge in a small closet and lock the door for everyone who isn't a part of the household. I haven't tested this, but I'm guessing it works.
As a sims youtuber my self always looking for tricks. I am unsure if Kayla knows but you can have stanley help with projects to finish them even faster! Also you can ask strangers to help "assist with project" and it will get done faster and have more time to complete the other challenges !! :)

i love this scenario because if you leave the lot and return the parents will just be standing out there on the sidewalk with the kids and you can talk to them a little before they remember they were abducted by aliens and disappear
I had to restart this challenge THREE times to finally complete it. First time I set them into an incomplete house not realizing all the money would go poof. My bad! Second time I could not for the life of me get the influencer side gig to make me any type of money. I think I kept running into bugs. So I finally focused on being a streamer and just POWERED thru. It was rough. 10/10 would recommend. The difficulty rating means it 🤣

i did this mixed with a rags to riches challenge (i imagined the aliens destroyed my house) and used dumpster diving to make money, i finished it a lot faster than i thought i would because my sim found a research machine in the dumpster
I did this challenge and ended up now doing a legacy challenge with them. I started on an empty lot which made it significantly harder to raise the 15 grand in the time period because the teen and child had to first buy a house 😅
man, I did this scenario back when it came out, but I made the mistake of moving into an apartment unfurnished and with no knowledge of how to get rich quick beyond painting (I did this one back before i ever started watching simsies videos)(I also forgot about that for quite awhile when doing it). I had to turn off aging and I think it took me like 31 sims days. upside of this challenge tho, those sims then became my main sims legacy to which we're about to start gen 5 of tho so thats good

I was really hoping to see the parents get sucked up by the aliens lol but I am also playing this scenario, it is hard! I just have to get the money, grades to A’s and finish the child’s aspiration. Although this is the most I’ve invested into my sims in a while, so I am guessing I will continue to play with them once I finish this scenario especially if I earn extra traits!

Not me screaming, “Use the sketch pad instead of the easel”, and almost loosing it when the kid found one and she sold it lol.
It also drove me crazy that she didn't sell the science equipment after she created the potions! She didn't need it anymore.

ive done this scenario, took me about 6/7hours, took a bit longer cos my game crashed at hour 4 and i lost like 2 hours of progress.

Idea for making sure visitors don't eat all your food: Put the fridge in a small closet and lock the door for everyone who isn't a part of the household. I haven't tested this, but I'm guessing it works.

As a sims youtuber my self always looking for tricks. I am unsure if Kayla knows but you can have stanley help with projects to finish them even faster! Also you can ask strangers to help "assist with project" and it will get done faster and have more time to complete the other challenges !! :)

The mom just went on a vacation and scared Stanley and Stacy into making money and getting good grades lol
i love this scenario because if you leave the lot and return the parents will just be standing out there on the sidewalk with the kids and you can talk to them a little before they remember they were abducted by aliens and disappear
I had to restart this challenge THREE times to finally complete it. First time I set them into an incomplete house not realizing all the money would go poof. My bad! Second time I could not for the life of me get the influencer side gig to make me any type of money. I think I kept running into bugs. So I finally focused on being a streamer and just POWERED thru. It was rough. 10/10 would recommend. The difficulty rating means it 🤣

I don’t understand why a scenario called “aliens stole my parentS” allows you to make only 1 parent, doesn’t make any sense really
It’s really fun to place the family on an empty lot for this challenge because then you still only start with 500 simoleons but nothing else.
I played this in the cheapest needs TLC apartment in San Myshuno and it was so, so annoying and difficult. it ended up taking me 28 sims days to finish it😭😭
the new in town scenario is also a good one.
There are actually monster free beds I like to use if the monster is giving me problems
BTW if you have an adult or teen help a child with homework the child gets focused as long as there isn't another stronger moodlet blocking it

My gf and I did a rags to riches version with this scenario lol started on an empty lot with no money and we ended up failing
i did this mixed with a rags to riches challenge (i imagined the aliens destroyed my house) and used dumpster diving to make money, i finished it a lot faster than i thought i would because my sim found a research machine in the dumpster
I did this challenge and ended up now doing a legacy challenge with them. I started on an empty lot which made it significantly harder to raise the 15 grand in the time period because the teen and child had to first buy a house 😅
I wish they had the abduction animation happen for the parent. Oh well. It looks pretty fun. I’ll give it a try.

man, I did this scenario back when it came out, but I made the mistake of moving into an apartment unfurnished and with no knowledge of how to get rich quick beyond painting (I did this one back before i ever started watching simsies videos)(I also forgot about that for quite awhile when doing it). I had to turn off aging and I think it took me like 31 sims days. upside of this challenge tho, those sims then became my main sims legacy to which we're about to start gen 5 of tho so thats good
A cat would have been both a good and a bad idea. You know it would have immediately run away if you had gotten one, and then they'd both be even more sad. First their parents, now their cat. 🤣

I was really hoping to see the parents get sucked up by the aliens lol but I am also playing this scenario, it is hard! I just have to get the money, grades to A’s and finish the child’s aspiration. Although this is the most I’ve invested into my sims in a while, so I am guessing I will continue to play with them once I finish this scenario especially if I earn extra traits!
