The diving was at the Namena marine reserve in Fiji. I highly recommend the area! Protected area to grab a mooring ball too. If you don't have access to a boat, some spots on Viti Levu run charters out there.
Besides me being extremely jealous, I was just wondering, where or how did you learn to sail? I take it you work from home or on your sail boat? What a dream you are living!
We did some American Sailing Association courses in Florida. After two weeks of learning vacation we got some friends together and over the next,t few years did two catamaran charters. We don't own a boat, we were members of a sailing co-op and did local sailing in BC. Kevin says we should do an episode explaining it all...maybe that will be the next one!
I knew it was a bird, luv Fiji just totally some of best diving also my friend said that lived there a few years. In fact took a job somewhere out there just for the diving benefit........and the $$ was very good for the duration of his contract but milk was like $5 a gallon
yes some places food prices are really high. Some places seem really inexpensive though, like the less touristy areas of Nadi for instance....food seemed really affordable. Compare that to trying to buy a head of lettuce out on the outer islands though...something like $25 per head of lettuce or so I recall!
Definitely see more nude swimming in Europe, particularly France. That said, in many countries and cultures, it's considered offensive to bare all in public places. Definitely a time and a place though.
well as a man I feel WaY WaY safer\comfortable with something over my hmmmmm, Barracuda Leader, Redfish worm....get the idea[?] !! Or ever swim across a pond with snappers in it ?? Think there is a song about that ha ha! So for me swimming without a cover is to naked to feel comfortable. I stopped wearing gold\silver jewelry also.....thats where the cudda fear started, spear fishing & cudda stand off[s]
Rick Jackson: Yes we saw that too...but it looked suspiciously like a dive site called the rose garden...which is a deeper reef dive off Mo'orea in similar coral.
In most popular cruising destinations piracy isn't a huge issue. Cruisers look out for one another, and often the local economy benefits greatly by tourists and yacht visitors, so when incidents do occur the authorities take note and try to deal with the issues quickly. That said, there are some places that most yachtsmen avoid for security reasons. There's an online resource at Noonsite that provides a running open log of incidents occurring in the yachting community and also other information on destinations. If you're curious about a particular area you can check those sorts of resources to plan before you go.
You guys are very cute together! My wife and I are living separately for the first time in 10 years (her request, mostly due to postpartum depression). Due yourselves a favor, don't ever take each other for granted or let each other go. Your not young forever and forgiveness is key. Love each other always and have great sex!
I guess that would have been a trip up the mast in a bosun chair! Not while underway though. Next time in a calm anchorage. We've had to go up to fix a wind vane in the past on another boat.
@@onfilandtime I did not know if you had to tip the boat (kinda like when they did it to rid the hull of barnacles) or get someone with a boom truck to do it when in port.
@@skipsterable interesting. No we've not had to do that yet. We have always dove or snorkeled the hulls clean them, or waited for a haul-out for that. Heard of manually heeling the boat as a strategy to reduce draft while a boat is 'grounded' to get it out of the shallows. Thanks for the idea in the toolkit in case of something not fixable by a trip up the mast!
Where was the dives. Amazing visibility. Like diving the Caymans.

You guys are going all over the world scuba diving, I'm in northern Minnesota ice fishing on a frozen lake
We understand and sympathize! We used to live in Winnipeg....so called Winterpeg. It can get pretty cold in the center of the continent in the winter.
Small world! I went to college at UND in Grand Forks, ND and use to go to Winnepeg all the time!
If you haven't seen it yet, the episode answering your question is up!
After watching so many shark attack videos, I'm not so hot to go diving.
Those sharks really kept to themselves. Not agressive at all to snorkelers. Black tip and white tip reef sharks are quite tame.

Super du sable blanc à perte de vue ....à bientôt les amis ☺️😘
People do of course what they want but I consider it's weird to swim or sunbathe with swimsuits.

I'm from Manitoba and about to do the same thing. Getting out of Canada and buying a sailboat
I'm out of the rat race
Wow congratulations!! That's a big achievement. Do you have a boat lined up already?
Christmas Tree Worms thats a new one. I see they just discovered a new deep ocean coral reef off the coast of Tahiti. How cool is that.

If you please how do you sell from one place to another without the ocean Pirates or other threats notice one keep them self safe and open Waters

Of course they were birds, what else would they be.

What would you have had to do if the Booby had damaged your windvane/antenna?
